More often than not we are told to put our focus on how we communicate with others. Make sure you make a good impression, right? How we communicate is instrumental in dictating the trajectory of our lives. So if you’re feeling stuck in any area of your life, take some time to analyze how you are communicating in that area. Write down the dialogue. My guess is that much of your stress in that area comes from your internal dialogue. How you speak to yourself when you are alone with your thoughts is everything. This is the foundation for your life. It can literally make you or break you. No exaggeration. You may be wondering what you can do to fix it. Well, you’re in luck. Here’s a very easy, fast and long-lasting way to create a habit of productive internal dialogue. Take the time to filter your thoughts through these three gates to change your life: is it true, is it kind, and is it necessary. These three filters help you take off your blinders and let you see the true beauty of your life…challenges and all. Remember it’s not the pebble in your shoe that’s the problem. It’s the pebbles you let build up inside your mind and your heart that block your light. These three filters will allow you to see things with a whole new level of clarity. How would you feel if you could get some mental clarity? How would your day-to-day life change?

Welcome back, this is the third and final post in our series on how to schedule worry-time so you can create solution time. This week we are diving into how to transmute your worries into energy that actually serves.
To recap from last week, here are my top 3 reasons why I think you should schedule “worry time”:
It gives you permission to feel crappy.
Worry time is a great way to find out what you have on autoplay.
Worry time turns into solution time.

Somewhere between childhood and adulthood you stopped playing. In fact, our generation has not only stopped playing, but we have stopped connecting in so many other ways (though that’s not the topic of the day).
It’s so tough to find quality time for yourself. I get it. I’m a mom of two boys, I’m wife, an entrepreneur, a sister, a friend…and the list goes on.nWho has time to play?

The challenge of finding life-balance is a topic that often comes up when I speak to groups of women. It often leads to the question: which role is more important – Parent or Partner?

I don’t know about you, but when the days start to get a little longer and brighter, I want to be outside. I love fresh air.
I also love being able to putter around my yard, weeding, gardening…preparing.
There are some weeds, however, that drive me crazy. Their roots are so flipping strong! I have to dig and dig, to get those ones out. I keep at it until I get to the root. The effort required to take those ones out, versus the easy “just gently out” one is intense.
There was a time, however, not that long ago where I wouldn’t have invested the time to get that weed out by the root. I would have pulled as hard as I could, taken out what I could visibly see and left it…until the visible part grew enough for me to remove it again. And this cycle continued for years.
Why? Because it just felt easier and faster. The garden looked okay, who cared what was growing underneath because it wasn’t visible anyway! PLUS…NO ONE COULD SEE IT.
I used to tell myself that I hated gardening because my dad made us do it religiously when we were growing up. I resented having to hand pull weeds from our grass and vegetable garden while other “normal” kids got to play.
So, naturally, when I had my own yard, I wasn’t going to waste my time digging and digging those weed roots. I had mastered the art of the cover-up by this point.........

“‘The measure of mental health is the disposition to find good everywhere” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)”
That’s right. That high test score, that cute puppy, that fun party, the positive response to your latest IG….. those EVENTS did NOT make you happy. Your INTERPRETATION of each experience dictates how you feel.
How can I say that? Well, wouldn’t you agree that EVERY person has their own unique emotions when faced with the same experience? Sometimes the type of emotion varies, and often it’s the intensity…. But it’s ALWAYS different for each person.

The timeline for determining true SUCCESS is the FULL DURATION of your life. That is, you NEVER size up your life’s success along the way… you have no idea what’s around the corner. This is the ONLY way to drive yourself to make INTEGRATED LIFE DECISIONS as you make your way through this journey.

Here at FreeWithin, we believe failure comes in TWO general forms: as a course corrective measure, or as a dead end. Check out this week’s podcast, or blog post, to learn more about how you reevaluate failure. We beat ourselves up because of the way we define success, and failure, in our lives. Change your perception, change your life. Learn more about the PERCEPTION of FAILURE and SUCCESS (and how to use three filters/or gates to change them) by reading this week's post (or you can listen to it on our Podcast, Living Light Radio).
