I don't have art for you at the moment but as I'm going through my inbox, I didn't want to just leave this unanswered. I might draw this in the future though!

Since Apple and Meat already exist in an amorphous nonbinary state, I believe their presentations would be pretty much the same? However, a hypothetical amab Green Apple would wear skirts, dresses, and makeup more often as an act of rebellion.

Masc Pomegranate would of course still be very goth, very dark, very brooding, but instead of having a witchy Wednesday Addams vibe, he may have more of an emo aesthetic. (I hesitate to say "Hot Topic" because his wardrobe would be very diy) Also he'd identify as "Achillean" as opposed to "Sapphic."

A fem Onion would probably lean hard into hyperfem mean girl aesthetics before settling into a more sporty butch vibe. Her style would then eventually evolve into fashionable anime streetwear when she becomes more open about her nerdy interests. Cat ear headphones.

Fem Lemon still has the light academia/preppy rich girl vibe. She's still carrying around that damn suitcase like an aspiring businesswoman girl boss. Still a closeted lesbian theater kid. Wants to star in Legally Blonde SO BAD.

Things have been tough, but I have been doing better lately, as I have a wonderful support system who have been helping me get through it and not lose hope. The surgery is still a ways away, but it's starting to feel less like a dream and more of a reality. My hope is that once it is finally done, and that weight is finally literally off my shoulders, I can get back to making silly art and enjoy being in the online space again!

Briefly breaking my fast from social media just to see the Dashcon 2 posts. As a returning tumblr veteran it fills my heart with joy to see the con be a huge success!!

I sadly do not have art for you but here are some thoughts regarding the main 5 attending the event in the Rude Foods universe.

Green Apple and Pomegranate are definitely the most tumblr-savvy and understand the most references. Pom is cosplaying a personified witchy Tumblr (with a bag labeled "stolen human bones"), and Apple is undead zombie 4chan. For the Croaker/Strange duel, Apple is rooting for the Croaker and Pom is rooting for Strange Æons. They made signs and everything.

Lemon understands the least amount of references but is cosplaying Alexander Hamilton with vigor. Onion is cosplaying Miku Binder Thomas Jefferson (though I was tempted to have them as famed Tumblr Sexymen Reigan Arataka and Sans Undertale. Take your pick.)

And lastly, I can't decide if Meat is cosplaying the ball pit, horse plinko, or a raccoon and handing out candy bracelets that say "rabies <3"

Anyways I hope everyone had a wonderful time at Dashcon 2! The timeline is healing. We are cringe but we are free.

TUMBLR 101: a helpful guide for tiktok refugees

are YOU a former tiktok user trying to learn how to use tumblr to fill the void the american tiktok ban is leaving in your soul? here are some things you should know, from someone who’s going on their eighth year on this hellsite:

1. you can say anything on here. gone are the days of having to use words like “unalive” and “seggs.” murder! kill! sex! fuck! speak your mind!

2. there is a community for you on here. regardless of what you’re into or however small the fandom is, you have a place here. at least one other person will have heard of your weird obscure interest. strike up a conversation!

3. followers don’t matter. tumblr is one of the last remaining social media sites in which your number of followers means absolute jack shit. this can be disorienting at first, but once you lean into the fact that everyone on this website is equal, it’s very freeing. clout means nothing here.

4. similarly, you can post at any time. while tiktok has an algorithm that favors certain times, tumblr has no such algorithm. post whatever you want, whenever you want. every post has virtually the same chance at getting notes, regardless of when it is posted.

5. tags can have spaces between the words! this one is very exciting. tags can be a whole sentence. you can also use the tags to comment on someone’s post without actually adding onto the physical post itself (which is sometimes frowned upon and called “derailing” if you use this feature to bring up a completely different point other than the one that’s being made on the original post).

TL;DR: speak your mind, find your place, followers don’t matter, post anytime, have fun with tags!! tumblr is a wonderful site used to share things you’re excited about. be patient with yourself as you’re learning and have fun!
