Raise your hand if you liked any of these films: “Girl Interrupted”, “Riding in Cars with Boys”, or “Maid”…well if you liked these films then you’ll love my book because I wrote a story about a single mother, struggling with mental health, coming from a broken home, trying to make it as writer but from a black perspective. https://a.co/d/2HNSNpa @NBCUniversal @Netflix @HBO @SHOWTIME @Hulu @Paramount Pictures @Comcast @Spectrum News

Today, I told my husband and sister that I give up. After taking the time to go back to school and finish my degrees and getting rejection after rejection. I decided that my dream was too painful and I needed a break from having a broken heart. I worked in the medical field my entire adult career. I walked away from it to return to a dream I abandoned because of the state of the economy back in 2008/2009. I went back to school (2020-2024)to become a journalist because even when I abandoned the dream of being a story teller, the dream never abandoned me. However the pain of not being able to pursue my dream because of the state of the job market is something words cannot describe. When opening the Pinterest app today to get some inspiration for how to style my daughter’s hair for picture day tomorrow, the first thing I see is this…. I really needed this message and I hope it blesses and uplifts everyone who reads this too.

ATTENTION JOB SEEKERS, DREAMERS AND HOPELESS ROMANTICS. There was this young fisherman; who lived in this old, family lake house. Every day he would go out to the dock and attempt to make a catch. Visually, he could see there was plenty of fish. However, the fisherman never caught anything. He began to wonder if there was something he was doing wrong. So he looked at the other fisherman, and observed what they did. He bought new poles and rods. He bought new bate too. He tried all the same methods and tricks the other fisherman used; but the fisherman continued to not make a single catch. Over time the young fisherman grew weary. One day, he decided he wouldn’t try anything new. He went back to his original rod and pole. He even decided not to use any bate. He figured there was no point in putting anything on his hook at all. He carelessly threw his rod into the water, free from all anxiety. Suddenly, he felt a tug. He thought to himself, “surely not” as he slowly reeled in. Once again there was no fish just an old key that got caught on his hook. The young fisherman held his head down as he shamefully walked back into the house. He tossed the key on the counter and headed for bed. The next day he wondered what the old key could possibly go to. He pondered on it for some time. Just playing around, he attempted to stick the key into an old box that had been locked for years due to no one ever having access. To his surprise, it fit. He turned the key and unlocked the box. Inside, he found all of the documents to retrieve his true inheritance….. You see, it was never meant for him to catch any fish. All the tactics and bates only prevented him from catching what was always meant to be his. The moral of this story is your (inheritance)/destiny may not come by using the same methods of those around you. It may not come the way that you think it should or at the time you think it should. It may not even look like what you always thought it would be. Whatever you do, don’t give up. There is a key out there that will eventually catch your hook. #writer #storyteller

Truth is,I didn’t promote my book much because I thought I told an “unreasonable” story. After a day full of “unreasonable conversations” I learned that “the truth is unreasonable”. I learned that my unreasonable story could very well change or save someone who lives an unreasonable life. I am forever grateful to have been invited. It was such a privilege and I am forever changed as a writer. My book “Nobody’s Baby” could save “Somebody’s Life”. @parishilton I heard you!!! @propperdaley @mtv @showtimenetworks

From the moment I learned their story I wanted to meet them. (Central Park 5)God granted me that opportunity to have an “Unreasonable Conversation” @propperdaley. I asked an “Unreasonable Question” to @dr.yusefsalaam “Don’t you think that someone with non violent, non sex offender, with no theft charges should be able to go and get a job anywhere in any field especially if they haven’t gotten into any trouble in over a decade??? Do you think they should also be able to vote again? My question and his answered granted me a marvelous answer. A high, a handshake, and this photo.. I asked him now I’m asking you. What are your thoughts? #unreasonable #unreasonableconversation #writer
