🏳️‍⚧️ Trans Streamer List

If Twitch isn’t going to give us a #Trans, we’ll do it ourselves.

We made a list of every single streamer who made an announcement or go-live on Twitter* and who also mentioned that they identified as trans. Here’s the list on Google Sheets. Feel free to comment, copy, and share to your heart’s content. I recommend using it as a guide for channels to raid.

I pulled data from other sources, but most of it came from Twitter.. If you’d like to be on the list yourself, I made a Google Form for applicants and I’m going through applications manually.

*The list only includes streamers with less than 5K followers on Twitter, to give smaller streamers a chance to network and a competitive edge.

Absolutely living for the fact that in ancient Greece, it was said that when Apollo was drunk he created people with the “wrong” genitalia,, which, first of all, means that 1. trans people are not a new thing, we’ve always been here and we’ve always found ways to justify and explain our existence, and 2. the way that we chose to explain ourselves at one point was, “Yeah, the sun was wasted as hell when he made me, but it’s cool.” and that is fucking awesome

It’s always the quiet ones, they say And as a kid, I used to wonder, Where the rest of that sentence went What was so hush hush or so implicitly understood? Where for me it was just a mystery

At some point, when I grew up, the leer got added As if an optional extra; Sometimes said, but not *always* But it was always the quiet ones And even as a kid, I knew that meant me What was I meant to grow up into? What was this nebulous destiny of mine? What did people see when I said nothing? What did they expect to fill the silence?

I didn’t speak because I didn’t feel I had anything worth saying Or because I had to wait my turn and by then the conversation had moved on So many thoughts left unsaid - was that what they feared? That we all have an allotment of expression and mine was overdue - that it would explode and all come out at once

I’m grown up now, but not *all* grown up A work in progress, with a little more said than unsaid And I think I understand, finally What’s so dangerous about the quiet ones With that lull into a false sense of security It could be a companionable silence - for the right person But if I don’t fill the space, they’ll have to They’ll have to think beyond the obvious Go deeper than the pleasantries - Those words I could never entirely connect with Like an echo in an empty space
