Basic Recipe of a Spell
Ingredients
Intent (what is the purpose of your spell?)
A correspondence (candles, stones, incense, etc.)
A source of power (your own energy, fire, a quartz crystal, etc.)
A binder to connect all of them (an offering, an incantation, dance, art, writing, etc)
A cleanser (a bell, ethically sourced sage, salt, etc.)
Steps:
Cleanse your working space
Ensure that your intent is clear and loud in your mind for the duration of the spell
Set up your working space in an organized way
Activate your source of power
Activate your correspondence
Activate your binder
Repeat but in reverse
This is not a definitive guide, but is rather a very easy to follow guide to making spells for those who don’t know where to begin! I recommend you tweak it for your needs and to match your magickal style.

fucked up how cooking and baking from scratch is viewed as a luxury…..like baking a loaf of bread or whatever is seen as something that only people with money/time can do. I’m not sure why capitalism decided to sell us the idea that we can’t make our own damn food bc it’s a special expensive thing that’s exclusive to wealthy retirees but it’s stupid as hell and it makes me angry

10 things any new witch should know
Metaphysical shops/ new age shops are way over priced. Convenient, but expensive. Check out Etsy, farmers markets, thrift stores and grocery stores first.
Garden sage works just as well as white sage.
Spells can take a day, a week or even months to show. Be patient and don’t feel like you have to do the same spell again go get results.
Always, always protect yourself while doing any spell. Draw sigils on yourself or have a talisman of sorts on your person. Always.
If you’re using a spell book for your rituals, switch them up and make them personalized to your craft.
White or black candles can take the place of any colour candle. And rosemary can substitute for many herbs.
You can have certain books ( Wicca, pagan, occult, etc.) send to your local library for free.
You can cleanse your tools or crystals by moonlight and charge them by sunlight.
Always listen to your intuition.
Many “common weeds” can be used for magical purposes ( mugwort, yarrow, dandelion, etc.)

What to do if witchcraft suddenly gets way too intense
1. FINISH WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
► DO NOT walk away from an uncompleted ritual
► DO NOT walk away in the middle of a spell
Grab your notes and close everything down. Dismiss any spirits or entities you are working with. Close down the circle. End the ritual. Diffuse the energy of the spell and close it down. If you were enchanting an item, announce over it that it is closed and nothing more may come in or out.
Spells and rituals are little portals of power; if you leave one open without closing it, all sorts of things could get screwy and come through.
2. End any spooky/witchy atmosphere immediately.
Blow out all the candles.
Put out all the incense.
Turn on all the lights.
Turn off spooky chanting music. Turn on some happy music or better yet, a non-supernatural television show or movie you love.
If you were enchanting an item, immediately put it in salt.
3. Don’t destroy the items/notes you will need later.
Trust me, do not throw away the spell you wrote or the objects you were working on. If things go wrong in the future you will need these to fix the problem.
► Immediately write down exactly what happened. Write down every deviation from the spell that you did. Write down exactly what you said and saw during any visualizations. Write down exactly when things started to get freaky.
► If you were enchanting an item, keep it in a black bag filled with salt until you are ready to deal with it.
4. Cleanse.
Use an energy cannonball to purify the space you were working in. Burn rosemary and bay leaves to fumigate the area, or spritz a premade water solution if you can’t have smoke. Pay special attention to all ritual tools.
If you feel the need to, cleanse yourself by visualizing the power of the smoke enveloping you and driving away any bad vibes; or take a shower if you really feel something has gone wrong.
5. Get out of the area you were working in.
Go to another room. Leave the house if possible. Seek the company of others or turn on the television if you are alone.
6. Do mundane things for a while.
Eat a nice meal. Drink a big glass of water. Go for a jog. Do some chores. Put anything magical totally out of your head. Absolutely do not focus on how weird things just got.
7. When you are ready, return to the area you were working in.
Relax yourself and judge the energies within the room. Are things still ‘creepy’? A heavy-duty cleansing is in order. Do you feel as if someone else is there? Open a window and command it to leave - if it does not, more fumigation or a banishing is required.
Judge your ritual tools and determine if they will need additional cleansing. If you were working on an object, determine if it has been corrupted or if anything is wrong with it. If so, put it back in the salt and deal with it as soon as you can.
8. Take a break from witchcraft for a couple of days.
9. Figure out what went wrong.
Fear is never a good thing. There is a difference between embracing the darkness and being afraid.
► Fear can be caused if an entity showed up you were unprepared to deal with.
► Fear can be caused if your intuition (or perhaps a spirit ally) was warning you that what you were about to do was a really bad idea.
► Fear can be caused if you tap in to powers that overwhelm you.
You need to figure out what went wrong. It isn’t a situation where you can say “oh well” and try something else later - because you screwed up, and next time you may not get an adequate warning before things go to hell.

Witch's Journal 9/11/2018
It's been a week and a half since I did one of these. About time I update.
Honestly, not much has happened.
I haven't seen any change in terms of the first sigil I did. I don't know if that means it was a failure or just a slow burn.
A couple days after that, I randomly felt the call to do a sigil for Confidence (again, not sure if I should share specifics like that. But fuck it, I'm a witch in training so mistakes are lessons).
I drew up the sigil in a flurry of haste, went outside, and burned it for elemental charge. Felt very witchy (though, I was worried if my neighbors were watching).
On top of that, I've been just sitting around on witchy stuff. I think my problem is that I want to just be a witch and not go through the time of learning to be a witch. Clearly, that's wrong of me.
For example, I bought a kindle version of The Inner Temple this time last year but didnt want to space out the reading to one chapter a month like suggested. I then fell off with it.
I realize what I need is to just read heaps of books on witchcraft and slowly form my own identity and craft, but so far I haven't put in that effort.
I'm thinking about going back to the Inner Temple and other books I've been eyeing, but that's the problem. I've just been thinking. I should just do.
Then today, I felt the urge to do a tarot reading. Tarot's been appearing in my life again, for personal reasons I don't feel confident (haha) or safe sharing online since it could trace back to me,... but anyway it just felt right to do it.
I've been thinking about my life's purpose/goal lately and if I'm on the path, and I found this life's purpose spread by the Daily Tarot Girl.
Tumblr media
I gave it a whirl and came up with these results.
Again, am I over sharing and possibly tampering with the sanctity and magic by posting the reading here? Probably. But, I'll learn that later.
Anyway, relearning the tarot through this exercise made me want to get into tarot again. Maybe I'll do a one card reading everyday.
Tumblr media
It's the little steps that count. They grow and you grow with them. That's what I hope will happen for me anyway.

Witch's Diary 8/30/2018
I spent the past 2 days looking into sigils (What are they, how to write 'em, how to activate them). I even dabbed a little into what's Chaos magick at the suggestion of a friend. I then realized the two are deeply connected (chaos magick > sigils).
Then tonight, I attempted one. It was messy.
I chose a long intention/sentence that left 11 letters to be drawn into the sigil. With my perfectionist/unrealistic-expectations ass, I took forever because I wasn't satisfied with what I was drawling.
Plus, I was even more distracted by trying to cook simultaneously and be done both in time for Critical Role (didnt make that one).
Eventually, I just settled on this ugly ass drawing and went outside. I listended to music related to my intent, smoked, and blew the smoke on paper for extra elemental charge, and then stashed the sigil in an intention related hiding spot.
I chose not to destory the sigil until the intention has succeeded. Felt right.
I then finished my dinner, sat down, and wrote all this. I'll let go of the sigil from my mind as I catch up with Critical Role.
It's a messy start. But it's a start.

Finding Your Element
Though we’re never just one element at any time, its common for us to be closer to one more than the others. The element you associate with may share traits, both positive and negative, with you. Knowing your element can help you understand yourself and help you overcome problems that you encounter because of it.
Note that the element that you associate with now may change with time and personal growth.
So, how does one find their element? Well, first you gotta know the elements. Each one has its own set of traits.
Now, I won’t be listing all of the correspondence for each element, just the ones I think may be relevant to the topic.
Tumblr media
Air
Colors: Yellow, sky blue
Direction: East
Season: Spring
Compliment: Fire
Opposite: Earth
Positive Traits: Joyful, humorous, intelligent, intuitive, communicative.
Negative Traits: Loves gossip, chatterbox, loud, messy, selfish, manipulative, boastful, know-it-all.
Possible Fears: Suffocation, being buried alive, being wrong/being stupid, stagnation.
Tumblr media
Earth
Colors: Brown, green
Direction: North
Season: Winter
Compliment: Water
Opposite: Air
Positive Traits: Reliable, level-headed, punctual, good with money, preserving, wise.
Negative Traits: Materialistic, narrow minded, stubborn, greedy.
Possible Fears: Heights, falling, financial crisis, change.
Tumblr media
Fire
Colors: Red, orange
Direction: South
Season: Summer
Complement: Air
Opposite: Water
Positive Traits: Energetic, out-going, courageous, loyal, passionate.
Negative Traits: Power hungry, dominating, egotistical, stubborn, resentful, violent, reckless.
Possible Fears: Lack of control or lack of power, fear of large bodies of water or drowning.
Tumblr media
Water
Colors: Blue, silver
Direction: West
Season: Fall
Complement: Earth
Opposite: Fire
Positive Traits: Compassionate, loving, forgiving, empathetic, easy going, modesty.
Negative Traits: Weepy, overly sensitive, frigid, lazy, insecure, dependent, indifferent.
Possible Fears: Burning alive, losing loved ones, being alone.
When looking at one’s own traits and flaws it’s important to be honest with yourself and open to your intuition. If you find you can’t decide between two or more elements ask around, see what others think you are. It might help you narrow it down.
Thank you for reading! Feel free to ask any questions or to leave any suggestions.

How to do a sigil
Yes hello I am a Alex and this is a thing of how I do a witchcraft. If you do this a certain way feel free to not listen. If you don’t like the way I do it lit, donut do it this way :3 that is all
What is a sigil?
“an inscribed or painted symbol considered to have magical power.” -google aka a digital or physical painting/drawing/craving/or anything with a design that is given a certain meaning by the person who made it.
What are sigils used for?
The maker draws a doodle (more or less) and charges it with their intent.
Can anybody make one?
Anyone :3
How complicated does it have to be/look like?
It shouldn’t be that hard or pretty, as long as it pleases you it is fine
What materials do you gotta use?
Whatever you got. digital or physical. Paper and pencil/pen/blood/wax/anything - Wood drawing things/knife to carve Literally a n y t h i n g
Do sigils have to be aesthetically pleasing?
Nope :3 just has to have meaning it you/someone you’re making it for
Do you have to be a witch to use sigils?
No you don’t. It’s up to you and your beliefs
Where can you put sigils?
*cracks knuckles* Shoes, binders, behind phone cases, under tables, under chairs, on your nails with sharpies then put nail polish over it, in your car, in a pillow, draw them on yourself (thighs, stomachs, arms, whatever), clothes tags, out of ketchup on your food, literally anything and everything you can think of
Can I cut out a sigil for a keychain or somethin?
Yes, and you can put them on your alter, hang em in a car, etc
Can you use sigils in spells?
Yes you can, just like tarot cards and oracle cards
Can you have two different sigils for the same thing?
Yes you can (ex.  if you have one for happiness, but want to make another one for happiness, you can draw a different design) (ex. 2- if you see someone make one to ward off depression and want to make one for the same reason, you can make one but with a different design)
How do you “activate” a sigil?
As soon as you draw it, it’s activated. However if you want to give it a little umph, you can bury them, burn them, submerge it in water, etc. If burning you can wafe (is that even a word) an object through the smoke to charge it with your intent
Are sigils used for cursing/hexing too?
Sure can be, up to you and your beliefs/craft
What all can you use sigils for?
Everything. happiness, good luck, help to study, anti*illness*, help your plants grow, help your phone battery last longer, help Kendall to not be a bitch, the list is endless
And finally, how do you a sigil?
Understand what you want the sigil for, I would suggest a simple one at first so I’m going to explain how to do it for happiness
Gather your resources, again I’m doing a easy one so I am going to “use” a pencil and paper
Get in the mindset of the intent you are going for, so this one is happy. Maybe do some stretching before and clear your mind
Now that you’re all razzle dazzled in a happy mood, close you eyes and thing, what shape in happiness to you right in that moment. Do you thing it’s a bunch of lines or even as simple as a heart? Thing about it
Now if you have trouble with step 4 (like I do, ADHD is a lil bitch) play some music that makes you happy or a movie. Does Frozen make you happy? Maybe draw a lil snowflake
Now as fun as it is to draw an elaborate sigil, remember, this can go into your Grimoire or BoS for you to copy onto other things
The most important thing now,
Magic requires consent
Please don’t put “Make Justin love me”
Instead you can put “Attract someone who would love me that has the same traits as Justin”
Stay safe beans and happy sigiling!
(is that a word)

some basic ideas on charging sigils with the elements ✨
Tumblr media
note: these are my personal correspondences! you may not agree with them, and thats totally okay. i just wanna share some ideas so you can form your own opinions :) feel free to add to the list!
Why would you involve the elements?
depending on the sigil’s purpose, different elements can aid the intent. for example:
WATER
water would help with sigils relating to emotions, wisdom, purification, love, healing, femininity and others.
WAYS TO CHARGE/ACTIVATE USING WATER
drawing the sigil on paper and letting it soak in the sink
placing the sigil out in the rain
letting the sigil absorb moonlight
drawing the sigil on your body while you swim or bathe
EARTH
earth would help with sigils relating to gardening, money, grounding, divination, fertility, employment, stability, and others.
WAYS TO CHARGE/ACTIVATE USING EARTH
placing the sigil in soil
if it is a sigil to help with plants, place it under the pot or near the plant
let the sigil absorb sunlight
surround with crystals/rocks (selenite would be good!)
any sort of physical way would be good
FIRE
fire would help with sigils relating to sex, courage, exercise, destruction, force, cleansing, protection and many others.
WAYS TO CHARGE/ACTIVATE USING FIRE
draw the sigil on paper and burn it (be careful!)
pass over a candle
pass through incense smoke (or any smoke)
cut up the paper
let it absorb sunlight
have the paper under your pillow or nearby when indulging in acts of passion (yep. you know what i mean.)
draw the sigil on your skin and everytime it moves it’ll charge
AIR
air would help with sigils relating to flying, moving, intelligence, school, karma, and others.
WAYS TO CHARGE/ACTIVATE USING AIR
pass through incense smoke
play your sigil some music
toss the sigil into the air
take it with you when traveling
fan the sigil
study with it nearby if it is to do with that
hope this helped!!

Pisces Zodiac Potion
To protect someone you care about, or even yourself, this potion is great!
Remove the quartz after 10 minutes in the warm water. The hair has to be of the person you want to protect. Once its out , blow off the candles and bury outside the remaining lavender and hair.
The quartz has to stay with the person who needs to be protected so give it as a gift or if its for yourself, keep it in your room near. ♡

Witch's Diary 8/29/2018
Last night, before I immediately fell asleep, I meditated.
With so much information out there, I don't know where to start. But, I know that the key to most things, skills, and journeys is to just simply start doing it.
So, I meditated, calmed myself, and asked myself what kind of witch I wanted to be.
Frankly, I want to be a jack-of-all-trades type of witch or an eclectic witch (I think that's the term). I don't want to be wiccan or attach my witchcraft to a religion. But I do want to bake with magic, use tarot cards, raise plants with magic and love, use sigils and charms, and cast spells with ease.
So then I thought, "Which part of that can I start with? Where is an easy 'GO' point?"
And sigils became my answer.
So, right now I'm going to focus on learning about sigils. What they are. Their history. How they work. And what each individual sigil means.
The journey continues.
