Sam is fine, but Dean isn't, but it's not like Dean can say that, so he just defaults to what he usually does, and pokes at Sam, and makes stupid jokes, and says things just to piss him off and get them arguing, all the normal thing things they do that keep Sam from noticing that Dean gets an anxious, bubbling pit in his stomach if Sam eats anything less than a full plate.

And maybe Dean is looking too much. Maybe he's watching too closely.
