Mind Control your TV - BBC Blogs
If you think controlling your TV with your mind is the stuff of science fiction, think again. The BBC, in collaboration with tech company This Place, has developed a way people can select programmes using a cheap, brainwave-reading headset. The headset works with an experimental version of the BBC's iPlayer on-demand platform.

Watch A Katana-Wielding Robot Battle A Human Samurai Sword Master
In the red corner, Machii Isao—an Iaido master and expert swordsman. Isao is a five-time Guinness World Record holder, including fastest 1,000 iaido sword cuts (completed in 36 minutes and 4 seconds) and most Iaido sword cuts to one mat (8).
You may have seen him on the Internet as the real-life fruit ninja or watched him slice a tiny BB pellet in half as it sped towards him at 200 mph.
And in the blue corner, MOTOMAN-MH24. Able to carry 24 kilograms (53 pounds), this high-precision robot has a “best-in-class speed of operation performance” and has been optimized to “further improve productivity.” So they gave it a sword!?
Who will win this battle?

How to control someone else's arm with your brain
Greg Gage is on a mission to make brain science accessible to all. In this fun, kind of creepy demo, the neuroscientist and TED Senior Fellow uses a simple, inexpensive DIY kit to take away the free will of an audience member. It’s not a parlor trick; it actually works. You have to see it to believe it.

The PaperFold could be the folding, modular, multi-screen future of smartphones
This amazing prototype smartphone could give us a glimpse of what shape our future mobile devices will take. It’s called the PaperFold, and it has been developed by a team from the Human Media Lab at Queen’s University in Canada.
It takes the concept of a modular phone well beyond what we’re seeing from Google with Project Ara, adding the option to change your single-screen phone into a double or even triple-screen tablet, and back again. Like this, the PaperFold makes it possible to alter the shape and available screen real estate of your device depending on your needs.
Although it’s quite hard to explain how it works, once you see it in action, the PaperFold makes sense. The video below shows a great example. If you’re viewing a photo gallery on a single screen, by magnetically attaching a second display each image automatically appears full screen on it. A page-turning gesture is used to advance through the pictures. Finally, a third screen is attached which adds editing tools and more information.
