I was doing some research on musical themes aka Leitmotivs in Star Wars for my thesis and I remembered this gem here.

Darth Vader's theme played in a major key. Played during a propaganda video to join the empire. IN UNIVERSE.

Can we— can we just go down this rabbit hole for a moment?

The Empire has this propaganda video,

meaning

they had filmmakers and producers assigned to this task,

meaning

they at some point hired a composer, being like "hey, so we have this thing we need music for",

MEANING—

MEANING THAT sOmewhere in the galaxy there is a John Williams (or a John Powell) who got hired to compose a theme for the Empire.

I have so many questions.

Is he a freelancer? Is he employed? How much do they pay him? What other hits has he made? How many people listen to his music? Which planet does he live on? When was he born? When did he die? Does he have a family? Is he an imperial? Is he a rebel? Is he neutral?

If there is already stuff about this on Wookieepedia I will fall in love with this fandom all over again.

really made me think about the potential of the episode 9 that TLJ left room for/set up

i mean

1) there’s two absolutely unhinged mfs in control of the First Order, one still TORN APART, and the other looking to sabotage the new suprEme LeAder in any way.

2) rey struggling with the emotional baggage she aquired from TLJ - mostly with the pressure to be THE jedi - knowing that her parents were SCUM basically - and yet she’s the LAST HOPE

and then you can have her accepting that she’s comes from nowhere and that’s okay (would bring things full circle)

3) I mean w kylo there’s two paths we could go down - but the MAIN thing is to leave this MAN unmasked !!! we need to see his eyes!!!

having and purposefully utilizing these points gives u most of the conflict already the rest is just details
