When Odin drank from Mimir's well, he had to sacrifice an eye in order to do so.
A lot of people interpret this as "sacrifice is a value of the Norse people" but I think it's actually an allegory of something very experiential.
The waters of Mimir's well is wisdom. But in order for us to gain wisdom, we have to let go of how it is we currently see the world.
The reason why Odin sacrifices only one eye though is also part of the allegory: He needed to still be able to see things the way used used to, because wisdom is found not in the new perspective, but in the space that bridges the old and the new viewpoint.
If Odin had given up both eyes he would be just as ignorant as before; there's no wisdom to be gained from obliterating your old viewpoint.
Plus, this would have been a wound rather than a sacrifice.

Dear witches and other beautiful magical bitches. Help a girl out? In short, if you are younger than 30 and you care about the topic of wellbeing, I need you to fill out this form:
https://bit.ly/ChakrasSurvey
For a bit of context, in May, I attended a beautiful retreat in Greek mountains called Chakras and the retreat was focused on wellbeing, connecting with nature, with emotions, our bodies, and with each other. One thing led to another and now I am, thanks to this experience, involved in a process of app development.
This app will be called Hope and:
it will be completely free + ad-free;
it is aimed to support its users' wellbeing in meaningful and practical ways;
it will mainly be targeted at people under 30.
However, if we really want an app that can offer meaningful support, we need to understand the needs of the people potentially using it! That's why I would like to ask you to fill this out. The survey should be about 5-15 minutes long and all open questions are voluntary!
Thank you <3

Corresponding Chakra: Heart
Energy: Receptive
Element: Earth
Planetary Ruler: Venus
Zodiac: Taurus, Cancer, Gemini
Deities: Isis, Venus, Ceres, Vishnu, Aphrodite
Birth Stone Month: May
Powers: Love, Money, Mental Powers, Protection
Emerald, with its brilliant hue, is representative of our planet.
It brings knowledge of the past, present, and future by affecting both the conscious and unconscious mind and it increases the wearer's awareness of psychic faculties.
Emerald is a stone of abundance and health. Its green vibrations help us understand that everything is quite alright on the deepest levels.. With the help of this stone, you can focus on physical wellness and through diligent work you can attract financial success.
This green stone was also worn or utilized in protection magic - such as tying it to the left arm to guard you on your travels.
As emerald can get quite expensive, here are several magical substitutions that you can use: Aquamarine, Beryl, Green Tourmaline, Peridot.
And remember, at the end of the day, intent is everything and the most important part of any spell is you!

Corresponding Chakra: Root
Energy: Projective
Element: Fire
Planetary Ruler: Mars
Zodiac: Aries
Deities: Sekhmet
Birth Stone Month: January
Powers: Healing, Protection, Strength
This fiery red stone is worn to enhance bodily strength, endurance and vigour - wear or carry one when exerting yourself mentally or physically, such as exercising, studying or doing heavy ritual work.
Because it is a projective stone, you can also wear it for protective purposes. It is seen to strengthen the aura and create a shield of highly charged positive vibrations.
In the past, garnets were exchanged between parting friends to symbolize their affection and to ensure they meet again. It is also popular for love and attraction spells - wear a garnet close to your heart when trying to decide between two relationships. It will guide you to the person who is best for you long term.
