Today, the Palestine tag is trending on Tumblr — and among the posts is a photo of my daughter, Ronza. A fragile little girl suffering from severe malnutrition, whose story I shared, pleading for help. Her image is now reaching millions of people... but sadly, only a few have responded.

We are not okay. We are not safe. We are living in unimaginable conditions — and tomorrow is Eid al-Adha, a holiday that should bring joy, new clothes, laughter, and celebration to children. But how can my children celebrate when there is no food, no water, no medicine? How can they smile in new clothes when their weak bodies can barely stand?

We are in Gaza — trapped, starving, broken. Every day is a battle for survival.

– Al-Awda Hospital reports 60 people wounded by occupation forces near the Netzarim Corridor aid distribution point.

– Israel continues bombing across Gaza, with occupation ground forces destroying what remains of homes and infrastructure in the north.

Hani Ziara... A baby without a leg, a victim of an Israeli airstrike Hani is not yet five months old, but he lost his leg from the pelvic area as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting his family's home in the Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza. The airstrike damaged his small body and tore the hearts of his mother and sister, who were also injured. Now, Hani lies in the Friends of the Sick Hospital in Gaza, between life and death... He is asking for nothing but a chance to survive.

It's probably overdone, but I do like the concept of the trope From Nobody to Nightmare for a darling that was neglected prior to her sudden death in the prime timeline. Maybe parallel worlds where darling flourishes under the tutelage of other people, for better or worse exist. Good endings happen, where her parents don't perish in crime, where she manages to be a normal salary person working a nine-to-five, where she lives and dies like a normal human. Unremarkable, unknown, and unfettered by everything that was the gloom and doom and isolation around Gotham and the Wayne estate.

Then, there also exist worlds where she was put under too much pressure and couldn't take how everything seemed to be against her, so she brings everything down with her in a Taking You Down With Me move. If nothing allowed her to even carve out happiness with her bare hands (suffocating standards, dismissal, disdainful eyes, You Are Not Exactly Here but Not There Either, nails picked too short and close to the quick, and so many more,)then darling might as well raze everything to the ground in a rampage that would make Boudicca's Rage seem like a toddler's temper tantrum.

I'm talking Fate Grand Order-level devastation where humanity is effectively rendered extinct with a few survivors that were lucky to have survived due to some act of god, preparation, or just being in the right place at the right time. The rest of humanity? Poof! Carbonized or straight-up atomized. The world is a chalky white wasteland, it's a perpetual Midnight Sun situation, and it takes an oxygen tank to breathe outside of certain shelters that have been built in areas lucky enough to escape the damage.
