Hey! How did you do the Sun ray in your legend of zelda model?
ᓚᘏᗢ
Its pretty simple tbh, you just create the shape that you want your rays to have, in this example it is the shape of the window, and put a transparent texture on top.
Just to be clear, I use blockbench, but I'd say that you could do the same on blender. and I don't use shadows, that way it looks like a ray without edges.
Also if you want to, you can also create a copy in the same place and invert those faces, that way it keeps the illusion of the rays passing through if you go inside of the shape. •ㅅ•

What about a Kirby picnic scene? Kirby is surrounded by his friends, Bandana Dee, Meta Knight, Adeleine, King Dedede! They're all happily eating on a blanket on the grass and Whispy Woods is in the background!

ᓚᘏᗢ
I think this is a pretty fun idea uwu, I will try and make it some day, because rn I'm going back to college, and I don't know how much free time I'll have.
But this is going to be my next proyect after the KNY one. •ㅅ•

Are there any good tutorials or resources you'd recommend for people getting into blender and specifically low poly models?
ᓚᘏᗢ
Tbh, I've never used blender, but I do want to learn how to use it someday, tho I know a good channel that helped me a bit with my style.
As for resources, Sketchfab is an ok site to find stuff, but I prefer The Models Resource, there you can find a lot of 3d assets and models used in many games.
I'd also recommend trying to find reference sheets of characters you want to model or Artbooks of games, or even making your own character sheet, It really helps with consistency. •ㅅ•

Happy Birthday to me uwu
ᓚᘏᗢ
Hey guys, I wanted to give an update on what I've been doing lately and to be honest, I haven't made much progress in these past few weeks, mostly because I've started a course online because soon I'll be going back to study!
I was unable to study because of health issues, but now I'm doing better and will most likely be more occupied so I will try and make more updates on the projects I'm working on, but I can't promise much •ㅅ•

Sorry for the long wait for any updates on my new projects, I've been bussy lately trying to spend more time with friends, but I haven't forgotten about what I want to do!
The most difficult part is the hair tho, if anyone has any tips, it'd be nice. •ㅅ•

“Prepare for trouble!
And make it double!”
I’ve been working on a new 2-bit isometric piece and Team Rocket are featured in the scene. 🙂
Sorry for the quote, but it was too good an opportunity to pass up. 😁

I'm sorry I haven't uploaded any updates, I've been occupied lately and I couldn't advance much on what I've been planning on doing.
I am remaking my very first model ever with my new style! I'm still working on the hair texture cause I want to differentiate myself with the classic 3ds link ᓚᘏᗢ

My first Request for @jackthesilentgentlemenshark! - This has been one of my longest projects and one of my favorites. •ㅅ•
I changed a lot of things I did in the past, mostly texture work, trying to do more like a psx/3ds style and I think these changes will reflect more on the future. ᓚᘏᗢ

This is mostly a heads up to my new projects, I'm working on a request rn doing some more evangelion content, but with a new style! I wanted to improve in my uv mapping skills and texturing skills.
This time I'm trying to do like a psx/3ds style for the textures from now on and I am planning on remaking some old projects and improving upon them ᓚᘏᗢ

Hi! Just stumbled upon your blog, and your work looks superb. I was wondering if you had any tutorials? I'm planning to do a hologram using 3d software (like Blender/Blockbench/MMD etc) for my final year project in my fine arts degree. Let me know if you have any advice, because I'd totally appreciate any that I can get ( ≧∀≦)ノ
I myself don't have any videos out, but as I said in a previous post, there is this guy called ArtDanPol3d, he has his all of his progress on his videos and has done some tutorials that have guided me for modelling and even texturing.
I haven't tried MMD nor Blender, but I'd say Blockbench is like a simplified version of Blender, so if you want to do more complex stuff, I'd say blender is a better pic.
If you have any doubts, start with more simple stuff that you can experiment with and look at the tools, for example, my first model were some masks from majora's mask!
There are also some plugins I'd reccomend for blockbench, like MTools that adds helpful tools in general and Outline creator which helps to do like a cartoony outline •ㅅ•

I'm looking into getting into low poly modeling, do you have any references/tutorials/etc. you recommend for beginners?
I'd say a great start could be some simple tutorials and models that BrandonJamesGreer did, he can also help with pixelart in general.
I'd also say my biggest inspiration has been ArtDanPol3D, He has a style similar to mine and has recorded a lot of his progress on youtube!
