The blatant hate towards women in BL's, especially by fans, is insane.

I can't even count how many times I've seen people call a female character a bitch or other derogatory words for simply liking one of the main characters. Or in the fans words "Getting between the ship.

It's always annoyed me because, how does liking someone entail you hating on them to the point that it's just weird?

I've always been a fan of watching BLs, and one I've loved for a while now is "Addicted." This month, I finally started reading the novel it's based on(after a while of putting it off) and the comments under parts where female characters (specifically Jin Lu Lu) appear there's always someone saying some weird shit and it pisses me off.

I can see countless and countless comments hating on her and giving her shit for her actions, but those same people fail to call out Gu Hai for the shit he pulls.

The fans are quick to point fingers at her for being "bitchy", mean, gross, rude, stupid, blind, and delusional but the Gu Hai acts out of line it's suddenly okay?

The comments that bother me more other than the people who call her a bitch are those who call her weird, stupid, or blind for not realising Gu Hai likes Bai Louyin. Which is annoying. It's reasonable for her to get jealous, be upset, or cry and argue when Gu Hai, her literal boyfriend, is emotionally cheating on her while continuously leading her on.

Yes, sometimes Lu Lu's behaviour gets out of hand, but so does Gu Hai's.

In fact, they both have more in common than people want to admit which makes the hate so stupid.

Why can't people just not hate female characters in BL's for just existing.

"I Love You" - Bába

When I was younger, me and bába never had a close relationship. Up until 2 years ago, we never even had a proper conversation. The ones we did have all ended up in us ignoring each other while mamā stayed silent. Since then, we've grown, I've become more tolerant, and he's become more patient. Our conversations are rarely long, and bába prefers to avoid showing too much emotion, but it's gotten better.

Though recently, he texted me "사랑해요".

When I first read it, I was surprised. It was the middle of the night, and I had been working on my school work in my room.

My father, my bába, for the first time since I was born, told me he loved me.

I was shocked, of course I found it funny that he used the formal writing and that he clearly chose korean to create a sense of familiarity(My Mandarin is so bad I'm currently taking classes💔) but it made me cry.

I cried hard. I wasn't exactly sure why.

Even if I'm not entirely sure of his reason for sending me that, I'm glad he did.

To have my father, the man who raised me, the man who constantly told me to "man up" the man who always made me feel lesser, tell me he loved me? It felt good for a change.

I really hate having allergies.
