Which of them is "Evil Blur"?

Blur is used to thinking that there is a state, there is she, the one she never wants to be. "Evil Blur" is a collective concept of all the bad things that she sees in herself and does not allow to grow in herself.

It's strange, but at different moments in time, Blur herself has different answers.

Before BG3 and its first half, "Evil Blur" is a seething lump of emotions, demolishing everything in its path, intentionally or not. This is burning pain and rage that you cannot control and which no one can understand...

In the second half of BG3 and after "Evil Blur" is more an image of her mother. Deceptively "her own", but leading her own game... hundreds of games, where everything is needed only to "win", to gain the upper hand, this feeling of superiority that she likes, but which she is afraid of to the point of trembling. The arrogance that she always experienced on herself, but so rarely experienced herself, because she was never confident in herself.

It's amazing how her ideals and fears changed places.

At the beginning of the journey, she wanted to be calculating, to be able to predict everything, to prove to herself that she could "win" this game of life, that she could calculate everything and control her emotions. She was above it.

And she was afraid that emotions would take over, that she would not be able to predict her own actions, that she would make mistakes, falling under the yoke of emotions.

But only much later did she understand that strength is not in not making mistakes, but in the fact that her mistakes will be covered.

And then, after everything she had experienced, after the illithids, the dark lands, after meeting her companions and after Astarion, she began to fear something completely different - that she could lose these feelings, that she could stop feeling them, that she would become like her mother, but not just in her actions, but in feeling the same way. Playing with the feelings of others without experiencing her own... She was afraid that her "game of strategy" would become her prison and she would not be able to preserve those warm feelings that she had learned to experience with such difficulty. She would not be able to hold this fragile balance between prudence and sincerity in her hands. Blur realized that strategy helps her survive, and feelings help her to be stronger, really stronger, doing what she could not do when she "pretended to be strong", hiding her weakness.

Блюр привыкла считать что есть состояние, есть она, такая, которой она никогда не захочет быть. "Злая Блюр" собирательное понятие из всего плохого, что она в себе видит и чему не даёт в себе проростать.

Странно, но в разные моменты времени у самой Блюр разные ответы.

До Бг3 и первую его половину "Злая Блюр" это клокочущий комок эмоций, сносящий всё на своём пути, намеренно или нет. Это сжигающая боль и ярость, которую не контролируешь и которую никто не может понять...

Во второй половине Бг3 и после "Злая Блюр" это больше образ её матери. Обманчиво "своя", но ведущая свою игру... сотни игр, где всё нужно лишь чтобы "выиграть", чтобы одержать верх, это чувство превосходства, которое ей нравится, но которого она боится до дрожи. Высокомерие которое она всегда испытывала на себе, но так редко испытывала сама, потому что никогда не была уверена в себе.

Удивительно как её идеалы и страхи поменялись местами.

Вначале путешествия она хотела быть расчётливой, уметь всё предсказать, доказать самой себе, что она может "выиграть" эту партию жизни, что она может просчитать всё и контролировать эмоции. Она выше этого.

И боялась она того, что эмоции возьмут верх, что она не сможет предсказать собственные действия, что будет ошибаться, падая под гнётом эмоций.

Но лишь сильно позже она поняла, что сила не в том, чтобы не ошибаться, а в том, что её ошибки прикроют.

А потом, после всего пережитого, после иллитидов, темных земель, после встречи со спутниками и после Астариона она стала бояться уже совсем другого - что может потерять эти чувства, что может перестать их ощущать, что станет похожа на мать, но не просто по поступкам, а чувствовать себя так же. Играть с чувствами других, не испытывая собственных... Боялась что её "игра в стратега" станет её тюрьмой и она не сможет сохранить в себе те теплые чувства, что с таким трудом научилась испытывать. Не удержит в руках это хрупкое равновесие между расчётливостью и искренностью. Блюр поняла, что стратегия помогает ей выжить, а чувства помогают ей быть сильнее, действительно сильнее, делая то, чего она не могла, когда "прикидывалась сильной", пряча слабость.

🌑Amber and Blur in Shadowlands🌑

I should have drawn Amber as soon as I heard that @catsharky were participating in the artfight. I have always been fascinated by your comics and stories about Amber that you managed to tell. I was very fascinated by your comic with Amber attacking, so I brought my vision of how she and Blur would fight their way through the shadowlands.

In fact, I’m a big fan of magic and all that, so I couldn’t pass it by and lit up everything I could with effects! I hope Amber is recognized here. The thought of her was spinning in my head for a week after I read her backstory and realized that she and Blur are similar in many ways. Blur is half-fairy (on her mother's side), but since fairies in Faerûn are considered evil and treacherous creatures, Blur hid her race by hiding her wings (and also because her treacherous mother tried to find her). Only on a journey in the Shadowlands was she forced to reveal her secret because it turned out that the light of fairies’ wings can drive away shadows. She was very afraid that her companions would abandon her as soon as they found out who she was. And in fact, for most of the game she gets used to living like a fairy, not being embarrassed by her wings and living with them.

Блюр полуфея (по матери), но поскольку на Фаэруне фей считают злыми и коварными существами, Блюр скрывала свою расу, пряча крылья (а ещё потому что её коварная мать пыталась её найти). Только в путешествии в темных землях она была вынуждена раскрыть свой секрет поскольку оказалось, что свет крыльев фей умеет отгонять тени. Она очень боялась что спутники её бросят, как только узнают кто она. И по сути большую часть игры она привыкает жить как фея, не стесняться крыльев и жить с ними.

В какой-то момент она нашла им и ещё одно применение - танцуя с заговором на ступнях или руках она могла создать поистине волшебное зрелище даже на земле, а уж в воздухе, могла создать феерию круче, чем северное сияние. На самом деле у этого заговора оказалось ещё одно, куда более зловещее применение, чем она могла себе представить, но об этом я расскажу чуть позднее.

Монах Стихийник это она, но в БГ3 она стала Темным Собалзном, яро сопротивляющемся воле "отца" и презирающей свою тёмную сторону до такой степени, что у нее началось раздвоение личности (травма головы тоже помогла). Астра и Курарэ. Курарэ является подавленной злой сущьностью Астры, которая долгое время была в её теле главной, верно служа Баалу. Астру спасло то, что их память была разделена, но до травмы головы Курарэ была главной, а Астра, бывшая по уровню осознанности ребенком просто шла на поводу. А вот после травмы головы как-то получилось, что Астра стала главной и смогла увидеть мир. Увидеть что-то, за что она хотела бы бороться. И когда Курарэ восстановилась после её потрясения и вмешательства личинки, уже не смогла так запросто подавить Астру, хотя очень старалась.
