been replaying avatar frontiers of pandora so i can get to the DLCs and holy shit did I forget how much I hate Alma and the fact none of the humans take responsibility for any of their actions and try to make themselves on the same tier of betrayed as the na'vi kids

i stand firm that this game should've been an 18 so they could be less pussy about the intentions of the humans because how do you have a soft discussion about colonisation and expect the colonised to be like "aww it's okay mummy🫨”

not forgiving alma should have booted her from camp and removed her from the dics. why does such a decision have zero fucking impact and she STILL acts holier than thou afterwards.

this had potential to be such a great game with a good message but instead went soft for some fucking reason.

I am personally all for no-phone concerts especially with the recent trend of people trying to have main character energy doing stupid stuff in the crowd during the show or shouting embarrassing stuff

HOWEVER

i am curious on how this will translate to potential new ghoul names. I wasn’t here for Papa Primo but, unless i’m wrong, names were simply given by the symbol that they were wearing and it isn’t that simple anymore with outfits

so looking forward to the medieval style game of gossip sharing stories about potential new ghouls to finally assign them a nickname

it’s just WEIRD like what is their business plan? Whatever happened to letting shows grow to their max potential instead of cancelling it before it even has a chance to breathe.

Genuinely asking, do you live under a rock? Because it’s spoken out about ALL the time from what I see, so it’s potentially where you’ve been looking on the internet. If you mean me specifically, I hardly post on tumblr as it is aside from TUA because my main media output is twitter but also it’s not been an issue in fandoms I have been in where it hasn’t been presented as an issue, if it has been something in a piece of media that I like then it is typically portrayed as weird and uncomfortable which is the opposite of what happened between Lila and Five.

Though in this case, i’d say it IS also a situation like that with an older man being creepy because it’s Steve Blackman that has been weird this entire time. He’s the one who wrote it, he’s the one who fought for it because the entire cast either thought that relationship was a joke or were actually upset & pissed off about it.

Obviously it’s written that it is an older woman and younger boy (physically at least because the whole complexity of Five being like 80) which is also an issue! Everything about the situation is an issue. Five is mentally older than Lila, that’s fucking weird too! Everything regarding this coupling is uncomfortable and 100% why Five never should’ve had a love interest.

None of the actors involved are to be blamed or criticised from this from where I personally stand because by the sound of it, they all fought for it to be not done and the cast literally banded together to make this the last season, likely due to actions of Steve.

It would have been weird & incredibly fucked up regardless of gender roles and I don’t think it’s productive at all to be like well what if it were this way around because it isn’t and it’s a counterintuitive thing to say because it just becomes an argument losing the point of the situation. This specific situation is the reality we live in so I think our energies are better focused on pointing out how weird this is, that Steve potentially shouldn’t be around young actors and actresses if this is how they’re treated, and keep the same energy for a circumstance of the opposite way when that comes across.

Honestly my favourite thing now is realising how messy things are post TUA season four is so I went on a deep dive that means absolutely nothing but it's making me laugh in hindsight. There's obviously a lot of subtle digs right now by cast and fans alike toward Steve Blackman, very deserved but I noticed something earlier and I just wanna yap because it made me giggle a little bit. I saw this tiktok earlier where the cast is saying that Steve had always planned it to end at season four and immediately I was like, that's not right because I remember when season four was announced, or before it was officially renewed, it was said by Steve himself that he wanted to do seven seasons in total.

like i've been in this fandom since Day One and i remember everything for some ungodly reason... and then I saw on twitter a screenshot of an article where the cast stated that it was THEIR decision to end it all at four seasons instead. I couldn't find the tweet again because I didn't like it or anything because my phone did that dumb dumb thing where it refreshed (so if you posted it and you're seeing this, hiiii) but I went looking for the article and was able to find it.

Uhhhh... No conclusion to this post, shit's just messy and im just laughing at nothing adding up and the constant shade is the only thing stopping me from crying about this shitty season. Bye bye.

i’m compiling a list of things I liked and disliked about season 4 to make a big post but also for my friend who is watching it in a few days so I have everything down.

I have like…. three things max on the things I liked side so far. Gonna be a rough ass list given this was my favourite show at one point.

fuck every writer behind this season because it felt entirely different from every season before, not a single character felt consistent from previous seasons and the horrendous plotline & storylines between characters should actually be studied in what NOT to do!

I would’ve preferred we were cancelled instead of this absolute shit show of a final season

now i’m gonna either cry, slam my head into a brick wall or take my rage out on people in video games (potentially all three at the same time, goodnight!)

there’s something extremely extremely creepy about taking an actor that you have known since they were 13 years old, only JUST a teenager, and making them kiss a fully grown woman the second that they turned a legal adult.

Steve Blackman already has a ton of shit out against him which came out recently so it unfortunately doesn’t surprise me that he would write something like this but it makes me genuinely concerned for everything behind the scenes.

There has been a HUGE problem in the Umbrella Academy fandom since season ONE when Aidan was a 13-14 year old of people writing insanely disgusting stuff and defending it because his character was mentally an adult but oh my god did they make it worse. You’d think they’d protect actor & character by avoiding any romantic interaction but instead you have him kiss an actress 15 years older than him. The age gap being the age that he was when they filmed season two. Quite honestly I feel that if he could’ve done this seasons previously and gotten away with it then he definitely would’ve done it, given the jokes that are actively made.

Quite honestly may Steve Blackman never work again if this is how he treats his actors because this is awful. I’m not even done with the season but that gave me very little desire to continue and this show has been important to me in ways I can’t explain. Maybe I am blowing this out of proportion but it feels so insanely creepy and horrific to me and I needed to rant.

hilarious that a background character that had a singular appearance in the comic had such a big impact on the fandom who immediately loved him so they decided to change him to a main character and that now in the final season, he’s seems to be the focal point of the entire season.
