Here is a comic about trying to learn new things. Thanks as ever to the angels who support the comic. You can do that too at this a subtly disguised link and I will love you like I love them: Linktr dot ee slash tomorjudy
Here is the script Everything is Somewhat Repaired: Nirvana cw: drugs, parents
I go through cycles of trying to understand and love popular culture that I don’t get: Citizen Kane, first 3 times boring, 4th time amazing!
Minimalist painting? I was tripping out to ad reinhardt’s black abstractions
Anime, things clicked with Paranoia Agent.
Nirvana …?
I love their choice of cover versions but the original songs never really caught me. I know it’s not the point of grunge but The Vaselines, Devo and Meat Puppets are just a bit …chirpier?
Jane looked up a list of Nirvana’s Top Ten Most Upbeat Hits for Birthday Parties, Anniversaries and Get Togethers. Top of the list was Lithium! Vague spirituality in a pharmaceutical haze? Count me in!
Second was Been a Son. “A song about a girl whose family expected a son.” … Well, this is not relevant to the trans feminine experience and I’m not ugly crying at 10 am. I guess I still don’t get Nirvana. Grunge is stupid.

My first zine is officially complete! It’s about being trans, fighting for yourself, and becoming something new. It’s my first zine and I made it using collage techniques, then scanned it and cleaned it up digitally.
You can get your own copy here. It would seriously help out this disabled queer artist.

"And the most wonderful thing of all is that there's no limit to the different kinds of feelings music can make you have. And some of those feelings are so special and so deep they can't even be described in words. You see, we can't always name the things we feel. Sometimes we can; we can say we feel joy, or pleasure, peacefulness, whatever, love, hate. But every once in a while we have feelings so deep and so special that we have no words for them and that's where music is so marvelous; because music names them for us, only in notes instead of in words." - Leonard Bernstein, "What Does Music Mean"

Inner Worlds: A System Forum
This is a system forum with more of a focus on inner worlds and emphasis on system member individuality.
It's meant to be a space for systems to communicate and connect with one another while building themselves up in the process, as well as a space to discuss some of the stranger aspects of being a system and being a person in a system.

Kyrsten's Favorite New Music (2023)
This is my stab at making a "mix cd" length mix of my favorite new tunes from 2023. Not a giant playlist, just a mix of about 70 minutes of my favorite new songs. Intended to be listened to in order (like a CD) but also works in shuffle (like a CD).
A mixture of sad pop, dance floor thumpers, experimental weirdness, laid back hip-hop, and sapphic love anthems. This is the music I am really into right now. A mix of new artists and old favorites.

"Headfooters or tadpole people are simplistic representations of human beings as a figure without a torso, with arms and legs attached to the head. They appear in the drawings of young children before they learn to draw torsos and move on to more realistic figures such as stick figures."

MGMT - Little Dark Age (2016)
Breathing in the dark, lying on its side
The ruins of the day painted with a scar And the more I straighten out, the less it wants to try
The feelings start to rot, one wink at a time
Oh-oh, forgiving who you are, for what you stand to gain Just know that if you hide, it doesn't go away When you get out of bed, don't end up stranded Horrified with each stone on the stage, my little dark age
Picking through the cards, knowing what's nearby
The carvings on the face say they find it hard
And the engine's failed again, all limits of disguise
The humor's not the same, coming from denial
Oh-oh, I grieve in stereo, the stereo sounds strange I know that if you hide, it doesn't go away If you get out of bed and find me standing all alone Open-eyed, burn the page, my little dark age
I grieve in stereo, the stereo sounds strange You know that if it hides, it doesn't go away If I get out of bed, you'll see me standing all alone Horrified on the stage, my little dark age
Giddy with delight, seeing what's to come
The image of the dead, dead ends in my mind
Policemen swear to God, love seeping from their guns I know my friends and I would probably turn and run If you get out of bed, come find us heading for the bridge Bring a stone, all the rage, my little dark age
I grieve in stereo, the stereo sounds strange I know that if you hide, it doesn't go away If you get out of bed and find me standing all alone Open-eyed, burn the page, my little dark age
All alone, open-eyed, burn the page, my little dark age

“The desire to do something yourself, and to create media and representation that doesn’t already exist, that reflects either large or small subcultures is, I think, an inherently queer desire.” - Paul Moreno

Okay I’m trying to be more active here again!!
Here is my original artwork zine about queer and trans monsters, creatures, and cryptids! It features the works of over 35 artists from around the world (5 continents???) and it clocks in at SIXTY (60!!) pages cover to cover. We made this zine as a way to raise funds for my top surgery so if you want to get a copy, I’ll be launching it Sunday, September 10 below. Shares deeply appreciated. 🖤

Nesting Dreams
It doesn’t happen often, but I have one or two dreams each year where I am stuck in a cycle of lucid dreaming (a dream where I am aware that I’m dreaming) characterized by a “false awakening loop” where I dream about waking up over and over again.
These are not nightmares, and are pseudo-realistic if uncanny, by that I mean, the situation I am awakening into over and over again is our reality, but things are slightly off, with the uncanny serving as a clue that I am actually still asleep. Things just feel strange or off.
The technical term is a “False Awakening Loop Type II” but I’ve had them since childhood and have always referred to them as “stacking dreams” or “nesting dreams” like Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls.
