Pages from a zine I made about disability. You can view the full zine on my itchio as well as download your own prinatble copy! Payment no longer optional as I’ve had some emergency expenses so the zine is currently £2.50, but this is a temporary thing.
ID: an illustration of the wounded man standing almost naked, impaled with multiple weapons. His body is coloured in red while the ground and weapons are black. His face looks tired.
The second image is black text with red ornate letters are the start of each paragraph that reads “You have to imagine that the wounded man is happy. That he has friends and family who love him, that his lovers taste his blood when they go down on him and don't flinch from how the swords slide in and out of his body during sex. You have to convince yourself that after he has broken down and sobbed from the pain and fear that he picks himself and his wounds up off the floor and continues onwards. You have to make yourself believe that it is better to bleed than to be dead. You have to believe that this life is worth living too.” ED.

'A Gentlewoman's Guide To Disposing Of Enemies' is zine by artist Erika Rier. The zine had a limited run and it's now sold out, but check out her website and Etsy for her other work. PS: This zine's name has surely earned it a place in the pantheon of awesome zine names!

Pages from my zine Doctor Kink about disabled sexuality and the complexities of having a highly medicalised body, pretending to be cis in order to access healthcare without harrassment, and reclaiming personhood through kink. You can read the full zine on my itchio and download a printable copy for free!
IDs: A white zine page with two detailed drawings of a doctor holding a patient’s head in their hands. The top image has the inside anatomy of the mouth and throat labelled. The title and author of the zine are in the top left, reading “Doctor Kink by Gender0Bender”, and the rest of the text is a poem reading “it is a strange experience to have a doctor be the first person that explores your body the eyes moving away from your face going down and down as you move from being a person to being your flesh and a list of malfunctions rather than delights but still flesh still tactile still touched”
The next image is another page from the same zine. There are four diagrams of patients lying on examination tables labelled A, B, C and D. The first two show a patient lying on their back with their stomach and chest exposed, and a blanket covering their legs. The third image is a patient lying on their back with their legs hoisted up and held there by a contraption, with a cloth covering their genitilia. The final image is a patient lying on their side with their stomach exposed, and their shirt pulled up. Their legs are covered by a blanket. The text around the images reads: “under the harsh fluorescent lights my body becomes soft and all I want is to be weak and all I want is for you to be weak and all I want is to be useful and all I want is you to be useful and all I want is to be served your body on a platter figure C” ED.

OH SHIT my novel chapters are getting put in the city library!!!
So I decided to take a risk, and packed all of my current chapters of What You Cast Out into little envelopes and take them to a few nearby shops. There was an occult shop, a comic shop, the local Hippie grocery co-op, places that are known to be partial to fantasy stories or local businesses.
While the shops didn't show very much interest (beyond the comic shop being politely intrigued), the local city library freaking FELL ON THIS.
"Wait... you're the author? AND YOU DID THE COVER ART??? AND YOU HAD IT PRINTED AT A LOCALLY OWNED PRINTER?????"
Apparently they have a special section of the library where they showcase books written by local authors, and the librarians said that once they'd made it through being entered into the database, my books would be welcome in that showcase.
I'd like to note that there are some local authors here, mostly published through Amazon Press and with 90s-era photoshopped covers. And the topics tend to be local history and folklore, with like one mystery novel that I've heard of.
But there's NO fantasy, and ABSOLUTELY NO FANTASY set here in Southern IL. Like, readers from this region will be able to pinpoint locations and cities in the chapters, as things progress. Also, cover art:

over the last 11 years i’ve come to almost numb myself when telling people my dad is dead. people don’t know what to say. they get uncomfortable. i feel bad that me sharing this fact about my life makes them uncomfortable. i almost forget that it’s sad information because i try to move past the interaction as quickly as possible. and besides, i can’t get Sad every time i have to share this fact with someone. but today my coworker made me feel so seen. her genuine reaction to my loss made me remember that others can, in fact, see my grief. i am grateful for it. and i am grateful to others who trust me to hold their grief. i cherish your sharing.
