It’s that time of year again! This year, #intuitober has become a month-long challenge. Not only are there word prompts but there are SONG prompts and POEM prompts as well 🙃
I hope you will join me in the scribbling fun. Those who participate at least once a week will be entered into a drawing for a Wordless Diary Kit at the end of the month (Patrons are entered twice!) The kit includes a hand bound sketchbook, a few of my (current) favorite tools, and tips on how to get started in keeping your own wordless diary.

The existential crisis is a big thing with artists, especially those of us with "ooh shiny" syndrome. We want to try all the things, do all the things, be all the things. And that's okay! But it's not exactly a strong business model.
The thing is we don't have to PICK one to enjoy in our lives, but I think it's important to find focus in our career. We don't have to monetize on everything we draw/illustrate/paint/photograph. Sometimes we do creative things because it's who we are and it makes us happy. Also okay!
My latest blog post is a letter to my future self. I wasn't going to publish it at first, but I know there are people out there who are currently stuck in a rut, who have just had an unsuccessful event or exhibition, who are wondering what their career focus should be, what their entire purpose is in this life. I hope that this letter helps you through your latest existential crisis, and once you've gotten past that belly of the whale, I encourage you to write a letter of your own.

Sometimes our brains just won't shut up when we're trying to work intuitively. Our brain wants to know what we're doing, why we're doing it, why we just made that ugly mark, what exactly we're drawing, whether or not we moved the laundry to the dryer, etc. That's when it's time to throw your brain a curve ball. These three things are great at keeping the brain occupied so you can get back to enjoying the process.
I'd love it if you joined me for #wordlesswednesday and created a scribble of your own! Feel free to share it and tag me or use the hashtag I'd love to see 🙃

Today on my blog, I gave a deeper look at the works hanging in my solo exhibition (for those of you who can't make it, and for those of you who'd like to know more about what inspired the pieces).
This is only PART ONE of this blog post, and I will be posting PART TWO tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Grid journaling is one of my favorite methods of intuitive art. It allows me to work on several ideas at once, keeps my brain busy so it doesn't interrupt my improvisation with critiques, and gives me the opportunity to try out a few experiments without wasting a lot of materials.
Happy #wordlesswednesday!

This morning I was inspired by piano music and the quiet house. Usually my landscapes are a result of a "what if I tried this?" experiment. Today I wanted to know what paynes would look like beside rhodonite genuine.

The new Heartstopper season was just as moving as the first. I love that they showed not only Charlie's struggle with mental health, but Nick's struggle with loving someone who struggles to love themselves.
Hugs out to all of you this morning who are facing adversity, whether it's out in the world, or in your own mind. ❤️
And if you need extra help, please call the National Mental Health hotline. There is help and happiness and love in your future: 866-903-3787

I have a good stack of little illustrative paintings for my upcoming events, but I need more. What should there be an ABUNDANCE of? Cats 🐱, succulents 🪴 summer sweet treats 🍦, or Pool scenes 🏊‍♀️? Right now Twitter is voting for cats.
These paintings are only $45 each. See one you like? Send me a DM!
