Gengar getting character development as a gay rights ally was not on my 2023 bingo card, that’s for dang sure. But if you somehow try to interpret this as anything other than gay gay homosexual gay? I diagnose you with heteronormativity www.youtube.com/watch?v=shZyg5VFI1Y LGBTQ

to all trans allies out there: did you hear that someone was trans, but they didnt tell you? don't fucking force them to come out! even if you think you're being nice, theres probably a reason they haven't come out to you yet. just be clear to them that you support them and let them do things on their own time.
i told a school counsellor in no uncertain terms that i did *not* wish to discuss my being queer with him. i felt this way bc ive learned with certain authorities (esp on psychological needs) as soon as i explain that im queer, all of my actual serious mental issues seem to vanish as they try to explain everything with "trauma from being gay in a homophobic household". a lot of my issues are trauma from homophobia, yes, but a lot of them are also trauma from being autistic, having adhd, having bpd, and having shitty parents in general. and yet, one day i went to speak with him and- "so i heard you're going by a different name?"
despite the fact that i made it very clear to him repeatedly that i did NOT WISH TO DISCUSS MY QUEER IDENTITY WITH HIM, he basically peer pressured me into coming out as trans to him. don't do this! even if its 'to be respectful'. just mention, clearly, that you support trans people, in a way that doesnt make the person feel like they have to come out bc you want them to.

Extra caption no. 65 of 69: Your friendly neighborhood Spider... Gwen!?
Note to the transphobes of any kind watching this caption: If you feel offended by the trans girl Gwen headcanon and cannot control your words without spewing hate towards trans girls or other identities, leave! Hateful language against transgender people and other members of the LGBTQ+ group is NOT welcome here! Now get off my page!
So the biggest news in the Spidey universe as of today is that many speculate that Gwen Stacy is a transgender girl based on the theme colors of her suit and energy, as well as her support for protecting trans kids. While I haven’t watched the movie yet, I’m a fan of the Spider-Man movies dating as far as the first one with Tobey Maguire. I have been dying to see this new movie, but time constraints haven’t allowed me. But now that I heard about this, I really can’t wait to see it on my own eyes! So far, it can be seen as a cute headcanon. But hey, if a small pig can be Spider-Ham, then surely a trans girl can be a Spidey heroine. (Cosplay pic belongs to dio_sixx, the original owner.)
For those who saw the caption, the Gwen Stacy cosplay pic was also used in a reblogged caption last month! I knew the girl looked so hot in that cute schoolgirl outfit. Yet, I forgot she was cosplaying Gwen Stacy in her uniform! It definitely gives me trans girl vibes in a way I can’t explain it! Now if you excuse me, leave me and my cute trans girl Gwen headcanon alone!

Sorry about that weirdo transphobe ask, but as a trans girl, I appreciate your response :)
Thank you for defending us
There's a big reason for that.
Long story short? Y'all saved my life years ago.
I'm autistic. Our social skills don't come naturally to us, many of us have abusive families, and our interests are limited. Even though I had managed to graduate college and get a job, i was still alone and facing suicidal depression. All I could do was attend Shabbats at the local synagogue that was relatively nice to people like me. One day, however, I met a gay Jewish DJ (Much more accepted by society now, but back then more people had to hide their identities) He spotted me in the crowd and like the stereotypical extrovert, zoomed in on me and tried interacting with me. He asked me what I thought of the LGBT community, and I told him I felt that they were misunderstood, just like us. (This was before I found out I was Bisexual, btw) So, he decided to introduce me to his community, an LGBT group in my town that basically did community engagement. And a good portion of that community? Including the managers? They were trans. I had interacted with trans folk at college, but I never really got to KNOW trans people until the DJ brought me to their group. And that community? They showed me more love, support, and tolerance than my own family did. Thanks to them? I gained social skills, I stepped outside my comfort zone...but more importantly? I found happiness. Y'all saved me from suicidal depression and helped me turn my life around. I am where I am today, with friends , communities, and a future? In part THANKS TO the Trans community. If there's a higher power out there, I hope he or she is blessing you folks for all the good you've done, and all the good you continue to do. I'll never truly be able to repay y'all for the kindness. But I can damn well stand up for you folks and advocate for y'all as best as I can. So THANK YOU and your community...for defending me and my people. We'll stick together to the end and take care of each other. Because that's what communities do.

I don’t want anyone to ever think I’m trying to take away their freedom and rights as people. Trans? Come on in! LGBTQ? Lemme pull up a chair.
Where ya from? Cool! Lemme hear about it once I’ve made some tea! You want to tell me about your beliefs in a non-proselytizing manner?
Come on in! Let’s have a chat! Do we not look similar? Good, let’s not trigger the Uncanny Valley! Do we disagree? Let’s find a middle ground.
But if you try to take away the same rights you enjoy from others, get out!
Also, remember that we all have preferences and tastes. And that is okay. It’s how you go about it.

Trans pride! LGBTQ+ pride! Our month of acknowledgment may be over from the corporate world, but our pride is here to stay. Love will always prevail, no matter what month or day we’re in. Happy Pride month to all of you!
(I am not the owner of this pic or character. Unfortunately, I lost the original pic a long time ago and I can’t seem to find the source anymore. This is just a trans edit I did many years ago. If anyone has the original pics, please DM me as I want to acknowledge the original owner and share the pics. Thank you!)
