I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.

On the other hand, I’m half-English, so England beating Australia is also bloody satisfying (not that it’s happened recently, mind you…)

Saying this as a whole Indian myself, who lives in India only- I wish to let you know that the more I see you post about India, the more I feel like we are some long lost relatives😂!!! The amount of interests we seem to share is driving me crazy 😭 You seem such a free spirit and fun personality to hang out with, really ❤️

As the glitz and glamour of Movie Week hits the Strictly ballroom, Gellert finds it harder and harder to fight his growing feelings for Albus as the two of them take on the (Trojan) waltz. Later, while trying to cheer up their lovesick friend, Sirius and Remus end up going on a trip down memory lane, where Remus reveals a heartbreaking moment from his past.

Strictly Speaking - Chapter 15

Week 3 is Movie Week! As our professionals take on a fun performance from 'Titanic', our couples train for a Hollywood-themed show. With feelings both old and new being realised, and uncomfortable conversations springing up, it's a week filled with drama and showbiz before the live show!

I’m just throwing this out there.

Harry wants to name his child after a brave Slytherin. Okay, fine, no objections there. He also wants to choose someone who made bad choices, but who saw the light in the end. Again, great.

But - here’s the thing. There’s PLENTY of brave Slytherins besides Snape. Slughorn for one. Narcissa Malfoy for another.

Admittedly, Albus Horace Potter doesn’t scan very well. Albus Narcissus kind of does, though…

But you know what REALLY scans nicely and I absolutely love??

Albus Regulus Potter.

I mean, you want a brave Slytherin? How about the kid who figured out Voldy was making Horcruxes, succeeded in stealing one and getting it out of Voldy’s clutches, and drowned in a cave of Inferi, when he was…what, eighteen????

(Side note, it bloody KILLS me that Sirius died never knowing the truth about what his brother had. Partly because you just know that, had he known, he’d have been right there in that cave with him. Yes, he’d think he’s a reckless idiot, but come on. They’re both reckless idiots. All those brains, no common sense. And I’ll die on the hill that Sirius loved his little brother - even if he was deeply disappointed and frustrated with his choices - and was devastated when he heard he’d died.)

I also feel like James Sirius’ name should’ve been the other way around. Partly because, again, Sirius James scans so much better. Mainly because it’s such a great middle finger to the Ministry. And the Black family, for that matter. Also, Sirius Potter has a really nice ring to it. (Makes me wonder why Sirius himself didn’t change his name when he ran away, surely wizards can do that??)

But. Consider this.

James and Albus actually go by their middle names. As in, they go by Sirius and Regulus.

And then one goes into Gryffindor and the other into Slytherin.

Oh, you want to make it better? Okay. In the original gang, as we know, Sirius goes into Gryffindor, Regulus goes into Slytherin.

But this time??

It’s the other way around.

And, somewhere in the afterlife, Sirius and Regulus Black are watching and smiling.

Darkening Starlight

A peaceful day during the war is shattered by some devastating news.

This was a ‘First War’ Wolfstar one-shot that took up space in my head and wouldn’t leave me alone until I wrote it! And, honestly? I will die on the hill that Sirius would’ve done this exact thing if he’d known the truth. (Yes, I know that’s cryptic, but you’ll have to read it to find out what I mean!)

Does anyone else ever wonder how Sirius would react if he found out that Snape:

A) was the one who told Voldy about the prophecy.

B) was completely indifferent - until he was called out on it - to the idea of James and Harry being killed as long as Lily was hidden.

And does anyone else ever think about how BADLY that would’ve gone down if he had found out???

(Not to mention the whole ‘Dumbledore vouched for a known Death Eater, but let an innocent man be imprisoned TWICE FREAKING OVER (first in Azkaban and then 12GP)’ thing.)

Also, don’t think about the fact that Sirius never got the chance to process James’ death and properly grieve for him, because it’s just too sad.

Strictly Speaking - Chapter 14

As the couples get ready for week two, Albus and Gellert have to decide on their couple name, and end up stuck in the middle of a lively discussion about cake (yes, really!) Later, all the couples take some time to get to know each other, leading to some rather surprising revelations.

So…one of my favourite headcanons is that the Potter family are Indian. (Those of you who’ve read my Grindeldore/Wolfstar dancer fic might recall that Fleamont Potter, James’ father and the UK Prime Minister, is Indian in that. Funnily enough, our real life Prime Minister is a British Indian Hindu who became PM last year. On Diwali. Yeah, that was an…interesting day in the family. Still not entirely sure how I feel about it.)

Anyway - here are some headcanons about James Potter being Indian, some of which are based around how I actually grew up. (Note: there will probably be more as I think of them!):

When Holi comes around, James wakes the others up by pelting them with coloured powder. He does it every year and every year they fall for it. They also pelt everyone with coloured powder throughout the holiday. It took weeks for the paint to be cleaned fully. (Some people suspected Dumbledore deliberately let it stay like that because he liked the colours.)

Sirius got really angry the first time he heard someone call James a Paki. He doesn’t know what it means, but he never wants to see that look on James’ face again. He absolutely lost it when James told him what it meant. (For those of you who don’t know what it means, it’s an incredibly racist slur towards south Asians; along similar lines of using the n-word to a black person. This is also why James gets so angry whenever anyone uses the word Mudblood - because he knows how that shit feels.)

Sirius helps James create magical rangoli patterns during Diwali. They also take over the kitchen for an evening trying to make Indian sweets. The results are mixed-looking, but they all taste good, and the house elves get some great new dishes.

Every time a festival falls on a full moon, they always celebrate a few days after so Remus can join in. (He hugely appreciates the sweets.)

James initially wasn’t thrilled that his Animagus form is a stag, since a deer is the form one of the bad guys took in the Ramayana when he triggered the events that led to Rama’s wife being kidnapped.

When James’ father died, he had a traditional Hindu funeral. Traditionally, the eldest son leads the proceedings, but when James broke down, Sirius stepped in to continue. In that moment, James loved Sirius more than he could put into words.

James also taught the Marauders some Hindi so they could talk privately, as well as some Indian magic.

James, Lily and Sirius actually go to india for their wedding outfits. Lily also has magical mendhi patterns done by James’ aunts and cousins. James also had to gently explain to Lily that wearing white is associated with funerals.

Petunia showed up to James and Lily’s wedding in a white dress to try and upstage the bride. She’s very confused to realise a) Lily is not wearing white, and b) a lot of James’ relatives are looking at her weirdly, because she’s wearing a funeral colour.

At James and Lily’s engagement party, James’ aunties kept trying to set Sirius up with their daughters and teasing him about getting married. They shut up when Sirius snogged Remus in front of everyone. James wasn’t even mad that his engagement was briefly upstaged.

James has a book of Indian tales and legends passed down from his father. He read them to Harry at bedtime. Lily would smile and watch from the doorway. He also taught his friends some classic Indian songs to sing to Harry.

Every year on Raksha Bandhan, James ties a rakhi on Sirius’ wrist and charms them so they’ll never come undone. One night, Sirius noticed the threads of one of them coming loose. That night was October 31st, 1981.
