Is it realistic to use a cane/crutches to beat the shit out of someone/run someone over with a chair/rollator/etc? I would personally do it but I wonder if it's different for those who use different aids. (If the context matters, it's between two characters who don't really care about larger ramifications in a kind of typical dumb teen delinquent way, they have a vitriolic relationship where they get on but express their emotions by brawling in the parking lot and such things)
Hello,
Not very.
Most mobility aides are not structurally sound enough to be used as a weapon, meaning they would bend, dent, or otherwise break if used to strike someone or something. And if you are reliant on your mobility aid to get around, you wouldn't want to risk damaging it by using it as a weapon in a fight. You might need to use it to run away, and it's very hard to run away on dented crutches. Plus, if it's damaged, you will need to replace it, and replacing your mobility aid can be a real pain and very expensive. Unless they have one of those fancy canes that are specifically reinforced for combat purposes (which are hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars and far heavier than normal canes,) they'll either break their mobility aid or they won't put enough force behind the swing to do damage. It would be a desperate last resort measure.
(Plus, assuming your character can swing a cane or crutch hard enough to do actual damage, it would be very easy to accidentally put someone in the hospital or even the morgue. You aim an aluminium pole at someone's temple or neck and you run the risk of killing them even if you don't put a lot of force behind the swing. Same problem with the face. Hit them in the gut and you can damage organs, at the chest and you can accidentally snap ribs or stop the heart. Aim it at a joint and you could severely mess up said joint. Aim it at the back and you run the risk of messing up organs or the spinal cord. Aim it at any bone beyond something like the femur (trust me, hollow aluminium pole is not going to do more than bruise the femur unless you're Superman, you will break the cane or crutch long before you will so much as crack the femur) and you could cause a serious break, like an open or comminuted fracture. Even aiming it at a major blood vessel like the femoral could cause catastrophic internal bleeding or haemorrhaging. That's another reason it's a last resort measure, because if you can do actual damage, you're likely to do a lot of it. Remember, a mobility aid is still a metal pole. You would break it if you put enough force behind it to cause damage, but there is a potential for serious harm there that you don't want to take unless it's life-or-death.)
You could roll someone over with a rollator or wheelchair. I have seen people run over other people's feet using the wheels of their wheelchairs (one famous example is that Stephen Hawking used to run over the feet of people he did not like with his wheelchair.) You wouldn't be able to run over someone's body with it, that's far too uneven a terrain, but running over someone's foot or hand is plausible. Unlikely to do any real damage, but plausible and at least likely to hurt due to the number of nerves in the hand and foot.
Using a mobility aid as a weapon is a last resort measure- I've seen people state that they would sooner look for an improvised weapon such as a plank of wood before they considered using their cane or crutches to whack someone. If you're writing it as a last resort measure, yes, it can be realistic. But very few people are going to swing at someone's head with a cane if they're just in a little spat or are just sparring. Plus, using this trope just reinforces the idea that disabled people's mobility aids are threats. A cane or crutch is already seen by cops as a potential bludgeon, a prosthetic leg as a potential bomb, a wheelchair as somewhere you can hide weapons. Even though the use of mobility aids as weapons is a very rare occurrence, people assume it is more common, so everyone using a mobility aid is treated as a potential threat or even as if they've already done something wrong when they haven't. And if you attack someone with a mobility aid, it's seen by the law as less of a crime because "they have a weapon and just didn't use it." Best not to perpetuate the stereotype as it does have real-world consequences.
I'd give them some other form of weapons if you would like them to engage in armed combat.

I wish people wrote their stories like it was high fantasy even if it isn't. There's magic in the world, make it feel like it. Have airplanes flying above feel like a whale swam over your head. Describe the clouds as if they were dancing spirits, even if they aren't. Magic should be embedded within your world, make it feel like it. Stop adding magic to our world and add it to yours.

When you're writing look at their bigger picture and ask "does this make sense from outside my perspective?" That can be from your perspective as the author, your gender, your race, your nationality. Sometimes it doesn't matter, you're writing it for that demographic so it's fine. But, most of the time it's not.

Relationship ship dynamic, straight relationship that isn't girlboss x malewife that's still interesting?
This is a callout to fandoms that feel the need to do this, straight relationships can be interesting without this dynamic and when u do it even though it's not the canon dynamic, it just feels cheap and fake.

When a Character Is Grieving Someone They Never Got to Say Goodbye To
✧ They talk about the person in past tense… then correct themselves. Then stop talking entirely.
✧ They touch things that belonged to the person like they’re fragile, sacred, about to disappear.
✧ They hoard the last voicemail, last message, last anything. Play it. Don’t play it. Just knowing it exists hurts enough.
✧ They leave something untouched, an empty seat, a half-packed bag, a coffee order that isn’t theirs.
✧ They get irrationally angry when someone else seems to be “moving on.” As if forgetting is betrayal.
✧ They don’t let themselves cry all at once. It comes in pieces. Like they’re afraid too much grief will drown them.
✧ They over-apologize. For being quiet. For being distant. For not being okay.
✧ They become hyper-aware of time, dates, anniversaries, time zones, the exact moment everything ended.
✧ They get superstitious. Ritualistic. As if doing things "right" might reverse something.
✧ They smile when they talk about the person. But it’s brittle. And it never quite touches their eyes.

Relationship dynamic, influencer x influencer. One is a typical popular influencer, been famous for God knows how long. Got famous on an app that everyone remembers, but no one uses anymore. In an era that everyone remembers but they debate the specific year it was.
Then the other person is a streamer, a late night, never seen in daylight streamer. Playing nerdy games, with nerdy hobbies, and a strange aloof edge to them. Hell they could be faceless, and even if they aren't no one even knows their name so they might as well be.
Yeah, two people who everyone assumed lived in two different universes practically. Well in a video or one stream there's just one piece of clothing that the influencer would NEVER own.

What is LiValue_Act about?
LiValue_Act is my fantasy world, oc world (?). I like yapping about it.
At what point will humanity change the ways of their actions; the way they kill, judge, harm everything and everyone around them. When they saw a measly bug, they crushed it. When they saw a majestic tiger, they began a hunting expedition. All for what? At least at one time or another they did it because they needed the warmth of the pelts, the nourishment of their meat, but now? Now they can order it all, so why kill a rare species? Like an elephant or whale? For the very purpose of getting to display their “work” to show how powerful they are for overpowering an animal that was never supposed to be in the same environment as a human being. Human beings were the first invasive species. They spread like a disease, and burned like a fire. As the fire of hate they possessed never simmered- no, just burned for a new target. The question could be raised of why they them go out of their way to display this hatred once again, what do you gain from hating your own species. You don’t get their pelts, their meat, nothing is gained. Except for the fear respect of others.
There are 3 terms you should know... Divinios , Mundane , Blasemo ...
Divinios- term for someone who has strange powers and abilities from an unknown origin. this is the correct and non-offensive terminology compared to Blasemo.
Mundane- term for someone who is a mortal and who does not have any powers or abilities, they may have a connection to Gods/Demigods they do not have a soul tie.
Blasemo- offensive term for someone who has strange powers and abilities from an unknown origin. This is the most common way people refer to Divinios.
LiValue_Act follows a group of sidekicks turned heroes, the eccentrics or the 19. You first follow them as they train to be heroes, which are people who are the first to be called upon when the Gods need something. The term hero is inspired by various mythologies which refer to people who do tasks for the Gods at their command. One such job is how they find and destroy artifacts, items that manifest as a leak of a God's power, such as destroying the fountain of youth for the God Youth. Though because they are Divinios, or Blasemos as referred to by the general public, they have to hide. No one can know or else they might call the BCS, but even there – not everything is as it seems.

What if instead of making the Gods look human like you went the absolute opposite way. Instead they represent their element/domain as true as possible. I mean like the God of Death is fungi and they rapidly spread when they have someone they wish to 'talk' to. The God of War is just a mass of blood, but not forming one thing – no instead they're on the ceiling. You don't know where you are but if u do or say something they don't like *drip*. You get three strikes and then you get to see how good a God is at their domain.
Or maybe I'm just saying this because I'm tired of Fantasy Gods representing people with how they look.

A cycle of people just seeing the person in power and saying "I could do better", but once they're there there's a little person looking up at them with that same spite they had what feels like only yesterday
the potential you see in them isn't real, it's a projection of what you would do in their position. stay with me now.

I feel like sometimes planning before you write is a little underrated, like having a brief idea of where you want the chapter to go can be so helpful.
Though I've also been obsessed with my fictional world for a year now, I've made a language, spent several hours just writing, talk the people around me ears off, so maybe I just like extending the process (for some reason)

People have such an interesting view on love in fiction, where if a character does something bad it can be excused by them being in love but if they do something bad enough then they were never in love at all. Like in the Great Gatsby seeing people say Tom never loved Daisy, but Gatsby did is so strange to me because either they both did or neither.
But Tom and Gatsby wanted Daisy purely for the ability to say they had her, like she was a possession more than a person. But you can still love something even if you view yourself possessing it. People love their animals even though they own them. To Tom and Gatsby they could still love Daisy even if they wanted to own her or have possession of her in some way. In my opinion one does not simply cancel out the other.
On the other side if you believe that possession can never be love then that's fair, but you can't say one loved her and the other didn't when they're both guilty of it.
Also people's views will typically take away the edge of characters specifically villains. Under the idea that love softened people, but it doesn't have to. I find it even worse in fandom where a villain with no love interest will be given one by the fandom and you can see the small ways they're stripped of nuance in a lot of ways. Either reduced to a love interest or someone in love a lot of the times.
The connection between what love is and what it isn't, but also between someone being good enough to love also puts a lot of weird weight on characters. Like not all main characters need to end up with someone, that's okay. Hero or villain.
Attaching someone's 'goodness' to their loveability is bad because it's limiting to how you can describe characters.

Translated into Divinic (my conlang) , with explanation afterwards too !
" HāVe DāHā Vā RouVāZi BōKāYā Dē DāGāHā VōA — Vā WeŌA Vā RouVā MōZāChāHē. "
The direct translation is "of all the ways can you to lose person, is Death the way kindest."
Now to explain the change in grammar, the first section 'of all the ways' stays the same because the grammar is still fitting. Now the quote means, 'of all the ways you can lose a person' so I used that extended meaning. Divinic is a vso language, meaning you say the subject after the verb. For example, "i hit her" >>> "hit i her". So you say 'can you' instead of 'you can'. Now, it's also a double verb so you put you in front of the to in 'to lose'. Also, you don't need an 'a' in front of person, as there's no word for lack of definite words.
Onto the next section, because of vso, you put Death in behind is. Also, because Death is personified I put a God's comma which is 'ŌA'. Finally, because kindest is acting as an adjective I put it behind 'way'.

Trope where a character's powers have side effects that are actually serious and long lasting. Like a character can control other characters'minds? What if they slowly lost parts of themselves and it was replaced with the people's minds. It happens so slowly that no one realizes, just they suddenly know how to say something in a different language, cool. Until one day they begin forgetting things, but not like where they put their keys, no. They forget stuff from years ago. What street they lived on for the first 18 years of their life. Their mother's maiden name. But what's worse? They seem to remember someone else's childhood street, their mom's maiden name. And once they realize it's too late.
