Got to spend a very enjoyable couple of hours talking about one of my fave comics, Generation X, and one of my all time fave comic artists, Chris Bachalo, on the fantastic InkXScribes show!

If you know me or my work you probably know how huge an influence this comic is for me! Drawn them a bunch over the years and hope to get to draw them a whole bunch more. Scope the full ep here!

I always loved how 90s comics would flip the orientation of the spread from horizontal to vertical and you’d have to physically turn the comic in your hands. Great for big moments and I knew immediately the moment I wanted to utilise the technique in Godzilla: Skate or Die!! I feel like we don’t see it used that much in mainstream comics these days, but it’s got a lot of potential and I’m always a fan of stuff that gets you interacting with actual comic itself in a different way.

Second image is from the legendary Larry Hama / Adam Kubert Wolverine run which has so many fantastic examples of this (including issue #90 which pushes it to the 90s max!! An all timer issue!).

Thanks heaps! I do rollerblade alot, as often as i can! I love it. And yes, I do have a comic! Right now i'm writing and drawing a series called Godzilla: Skate or Die, the last issue of which comes out next week. It's got tons of skating action in it, alongside an epic kaiju showdown!

I've also drawn Haphaven from Oni Press, Past the Last Mountain from Comics Experience and A Fistful of Pain from ComiXTribe. Plus a bunch more!
