So, I’ve been working on The Silk Thread lately, and today out of boredom, I decided to put in the summary that I bumped into on reddit for the story into ChatGBT to see what would happen...ummm, apparently, my story could’ve just been 8 chapters long, had a FAKE MARRIAGE instead of a real one, and called TANGLED FATES! 

Is it weird that I still would read that story too if someone wrote it? Lol!

The answer to this is a bit complicated, because I AM, but every time I sit and try to write, I get stuck because I don't write ANYTHING in present tense anymore, so it just feels REALLY weird. But I love the story so much, and I want to finish it. I've contemplated shifting the story tense to past like I write my other current fanfics, but I worry that it'll be super weird, since Bella has been in Present tense....then again, if I switch POV to Jacob, maybe it make sense to have him in past tense? Like, Bella always lives in the now, in the current moment and never really thinks about the past or future too much, but Jacob is the opposite--his whole world is shaped by the past and his decisions effects everyone's future....

I think just writing this answer out to you has made me work through my block, so THANK YOU. I guess the short answer to your question is now YES. I am working on The Devil's Backbone, and hopefully, now that I've worked through my block, I can start writing and update maybe in a couple of months!

“What happened to him?” Jasper asked excitedly and she could already see him painting a picture of this larger than life boy. Clarke understood how easy it was to imagine Bellamy that way, and she felt strange having to explain that according to the council, he was only human.

She took a shuddering breath, and poked at the crackling fire in front of her. “His link went dead a few years ago.”

“So he’s dead,” Monty stated matter-of-factly. Clarke glared at him so fiercely that Monty raised his hand in the universal gesture of peace.

“No,” Clarke said sharply. Her heart stuttered at the thought but she pushed the sensation away. She wouldn’t let herself doubt now, not when she’d held on to her faith for so long. “Look around you, everyone’s links are dead to the ark right now. But we’re not dead.”

Finn touched her arm gently. “Some of us are.”

“Bellamy wouldn’t let the Earth get him,” Clarke said confidently, and dared to look into the eyes of those around her. She wanted this imprinted in their minds until the day Bellamy arrived, whether that was tomorrow or sixty years from now. “He was strong, a fighter—determined to survive no matter what. He wouldn’t let acid fog, or sea monsters, or even panthers get him down for long. This is the boy who defied the council, and not just once—stood up to them, after they’d barely been convinced to send him to the ground, he told them they were either going to send him where he wanted to on Earth or they could float themselves…and they did. Does that sound like someone who would let himself die down here? Right now, he’s alive somewhere on Earth, living like a damn king. And when we’ve all figured out how to survive properly, we’re going to find him. I don’t know about you, but I’m not dying until I do.”

Clarke wasn’t much for speeches, but there was something about the way her face lit up with determination and hope simultaneously, there was something about the passion in her voice, the clear belief that fed a fire that burned in all of them.

“Well, fuck,” Murphy joked in that acerbic way of his. “If I don’t find him before I die, I’ll feel like a failure for sure.”

Everyone laughed, releasing the tension that had built with Clarke’s creation of a god, instead of a boy, Earthbound.

I was today years old when I realized Netflix has officially ruined normal tv for me. So, I'm watching The Last of Us, and I'm hooked, watching everything up until the end of Ep 6 and BAM. NO MORE EPISODES. WHAT IN THE HOLY HECK? I literally cannot wait a full week to find out what happens? I'm like 10 seconds away from a mental breakdown and crying my eyes out at all the possibilities. And I realized I've never had such a visceral reaction IN MY LIFE before. Netflix binge culture did this to me. And yet, I regret nothing.

Trying to Learn or Write Trigedasleng for Fanfic or Fun?

I have no idea who needs to hear this but - There are a lot of resources to learn the language out there. And despite the common thought that the language doesn't have a lot of words, or is not fully thought out, there is actually a very thorough breakdown of how Trigedasleng words are created. It's good to remember that any constructed language (conlang) is going to have a fully fleshed out system for it's linguistic structure or else it'd be near impossible to learn it with any level of accuracy or speak it with others.  Here's a couple sources to help you on your way:

As it's a conlang, the most important thing I would say to anyone is have fun and that’ll help you significantly figure out the best way to say what you want. Sometimes that'll be with a word that already exists in the lexicon, or it might be with a word that you create based on the rules of the lexicon.

Just write a beautiful story where Draco touches a cursed object and is going to die if he doesn't fall in love and lift the curse and is self aware enough to know he could fall in love with Hermione Granger if he ever let himself and had the chance. Hermione: *her heart beats furiously, and she takes a step back instinctively, but Draco grabs her arm to stop her* why would you say something like that--

Draco: because it's true--

Hermione: no it's not--

Draco: you know that it is. You've always known. *he steps closer, and their chests brush slightly against each other* You must've felt the way I watch you. It's borderline obssessive.

Hermione: *breathlessly* Malfoy...

Draco: *whispers huskily* say yes, Granger. Make me fall in love. Save my life.

BOOM. CUT TO BLACK.
