THEY were just a child!

Who didn't know anything.

Then YOU destroyed them!

YOU called them names!

YOU ridiculed them!

YOU neglected them!

YOU abused them!

YOU made them hide away!

YOU denied their existence!

YOU drank and beat them!

YOU yelled at them.

Everything YOU did left a mark, a wound, A SCAR!

So when THEY grew older they had no choice THEY became what THEY had to be to survive the world YOU created for them,

THEY became difficult!

THEY became hateful!

THEY became DISTRUSTFUL, GUARDED, SCARED, Of everyone around them,

Then THEY fought back!

THEY addressed their trauma!

THEY healed the wounds YOU made!

THEY became who they were meant to be

In spite of YOU!

What YOU did didn't Break THEM!

It didn't Make THEM stronger either,

It made THEM afraid to be themselves,

So THEY made themselves Stronger!

THEY DID IT ALL ALONE!

Now that THIER better THEY don't need YOU!

I made a new infographic about my personal experience with meltdowns, using Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters, as well as a new poem about meltdowns and burnout.

I'm distorted, exhausted Deep bone tired, not the kind that sleep can fix Overstimulated, a warning I gave But did they listen? No, why would they?

Ableism woven into the fabric of society Invisible to most, but we see it, feel it, hear it We push through, keep going, till we can't anymore Then we lose it, and the world judges us

Looks of disgust, words of condemnation "Broken," they say, "needs to be fixed" But we're not puzzles with missing pieces We just need space, time, and understanding

We scream, we lash out, but it's not attention we seek It's time, quiet, and solitude we need Not words of "calm down, stop that" But gentle hands, soft voices, and patience

I don't expect you to understand Most people don't, but learn, research, and you will This is my experience, my truth Every one of us is different, but this is what I feel.

In the depths of our diversity, where differences reside

Lies a beauty we've yet to fully see, a world inside

Where the threads that weave our humanity are strong

And every person, a unique flower, belongs

We've been taught to conform, to fit the mold

To hide the parts of us that don't fit the gold

But what if we celebrated the nuances that make us whole?

The hidden strengths, the silent struggles, the unseen soul?

Without pretenses, without masks, without need to gloom

What if we learned to listen, to understand the unseen?

To see the world through different eyes, to hear the unspoken?

Perhaps we'd find that our differences are not weaknesses, but might

The invisible threads that weave our community's fabric bright

Let's strive to create a world where every flower can bloom

Where our diversity is celebrated, not just tolerated

And every unique flower, in all its beauty, is nurtured.

This is what I imagined my true self to look like: a beautiful paradox, where softness and strength coexist. Am I a girl? I don't know; define a girl. Am I a boy? Can you define a boy? Maybe I'm both. I don't know, and that's the fun part - you don't get to define me, and I don't need to define myself. I'm just me, Unapologetically Us.
