Just me checking the calendar to see if there are any other holidays on a Tuesday in the next month. We knew Valentine’s Day had great potential, but who could have predicted that April Fool’s Day would have delivered such hot scenes? Here’s hoping that somehow tomorrow being Earth Day will somehow manifest some steamy Chenford. Doesn’t hurt to hope, right? 🤞🏻🙏🏼😄🥰

Unsolicited thoughts regarding a Chenford reunion:
I think Tim is more ready than Lucy is. He’s already said he ‘has his priorities straight’ after the wild fire. And he’s fine with the flirting. And his conversation at the vet therapy session shows he’s not only trying to get her back, but also talking about it in group.
Lucy, on the other hand, has yet to fully forgive him. And you can’t blame her. He torpedoed her happiness and broke her trust. Plus, as far as we know, he has yet to really tell her why - give her that adult conversation she was asking for. So she’s working on forgiveness and rebuilding trust, but at the same time she doesn’t want to lose herself and fall apart again. That’s why she says she needs to focus on her career. It’s what she has left. But she obviously is still in love with him (and super hot for him. Ahem, ahem. Valentine’s Day and stupid made up April Fools Day rules). She just hasn’t been able to forgive and trust him with her whole heart again. He hasn’t earned that back yet.
Sigh.
Hopefully something happens to actually make them communicate with each other. That’s always been their downfall. They work together seamlessly and read each other’s minds there, but they can’t find the words to make their intimate relationship work and express their feelings openly.
Fingers crossed they get their ducks in a row soon. 🤞🏻🙏🏼

Of course they’re still in love. They just can’t figure out how to communicate to figure things out. For two people who can read each other’s minds when it comes to work, they have always had an incredibly difficult time communicating their feelings in their relationship. Trust, honesty, and a good heart-to-heart conversation — that’s what they need. Will we get it? Only time will tell.
Oh and a sergeant’s exam, too. Apparently. 🙄 Since that keeps coming up as though it is the only thing keeping them apart.

Wow! I love this video montage of their story. So well done! I love Chenford. They’re messy right now, and I don’t love how things are going (it isn’t how I would have written it), but I still love these two characters.

Tim and Lucy make it back to Lucy’s house in this chapter. There are bets, the Kojo reunion, teasing, kissing, and much more. The next chapter of Worth the Wait is here!
Here’s a preview:
They had only made it a few steps out of the building and barely out from under the entryway awning when Lucy pulled them to an abrupt stop. She looked up at the sky and took a deep breath, her face glowing in the sun. After a moment, she glanced at Tim who was looking at her curiously. She smiled a little wider. “You know that look that everyone gets with they’re released from prison or even just from holding? When their eyes light up because they’re free, and nothing is wrong in the world?” She paused for a moment and looked back up at the sky. “That’s what this feels like right now.”
Tim chuckled. “You weren’t even in there three full days.”
Lucy furrowed her brow and narrowed her eyes at him. “That’s not the point. The length of time is irrelevant,” she said shaking her head. “It’s just the concept that I was held there, and now I’m free.”
Tim smiled back at Lucy lovingly. “Okay. Well, congratulations on your freedom. Does that mean you’re going to celebrate like someone released from jail, too?”
A mischievous smile took over Lucy’s face. “And plan my next crime? Or revenge on the guy that put me in there?” She started walking again, her arm wrapped a little tighter around Tim’s bicep.
“Sure. Or do something else stupid like binge-drink or speed down the freeway or chain-smoke a whole pack of cigarettes…”
“Umm hmm… Exactly,” she said nodding as they stepped off of the sidewalk into the parking lot. “Or find my man that I’ve been missing so badly that all I want to do have sex for the next three days…”
This time it was Tim that stopped them. For a moment, it looked like his brain was a little bit broken as his jaw slackened and his eyes opened wide while the rest of him froze in place. Then he slowly moved his head back and forth with a warning look at Lucy.
“Come on, Bradford,” she said, fully aware of the effect she had on him as she raised her eyebrows and tugged him to start walking again. “Take me home.”
Tim cleared his throat and allowed Lucy to drag him to start walking again. “Yes, ma’am,” he said with a low, gravelly voice as his eyes traveled up and down her body. “Yes, Captain.”
“Mmmm…” Lucy hummed. “I’ve been called that a lot lately, but I like the way that sounds rolling off of your lips.” She turned her body to face his and smiled into a sweet kiss. “No one else makes me curl my toes when they call me ‘captain,’” she whispered against his lips. Then she went back for just one more little kiss.
After they had taken a few more steps, Tim laughed softly as he looked over at Lucy who was still beaming with joy. “Oh, you are totally going to be the one to tip everyone off that we’re together.”
“What?” Lucy said with a surprised look on her face. “No way.”
“You can’t even make it through the parking lot before you start talking about having sex for three days with someone you’ve been missing and then you start kissing me. There’s no way you’re going to be able to keep us a secret from the kids and our friends, let alone ‘take it slow,’” he said as he started walking again.
“I can totally keep a secret,” Lucy insisted. “I think you’ve forgotten how awesome I am at UC.”
“First, you haven’t done UC in years. You might be a bit rusty,” he said hedgingly. “And second, this isn’t a UC assignment. It’s your house and our kids,” he said matter-of-factly. “And third, apparently, you find me… irresistible.” He looked at her with a cocky grin that she did, in all actuality, find both infuriating and irresistible.
Lucy narrowed her eyes at him. “Oooo… Do I feel a bet coming on?”
“Only if you want to lose,” he said with an air of overconfidence.

**Spoiler Warning- Discussion of 7x7**
Did anyone else finally feel more hope after 7x7 for Chenford?
For me, it was the first time I had more hope. There was therapy. There were regrets. There was pining x2. There was finally more substance. Even though they hardly had any scenes together, it seemed like they could actually make progress together reconciliation and not just a one night stand.
Maybe I can have a little bit more faith in the writers after that episode.
Anyone else?

Hello,
I hope you’re doing well.
If you haven’t watched the Valentine’s ep, please dismiss this message.
If you have, I would love to know your thoughts on it, because it broke my brain a little.
Many thanks.
@bigbunnimal
-------------------------
Thanks for the ask/submission. I kept getting rude anonymous asks, so I turned those off for a while. I may turn them back on again... sometime.
What did I think?
Honestly, I was a little surprised about the emotions I felt. Logically, I felt like I should have been happy with all the increased Chenford content. And the hotel room scene was definitely hot.
But I ended up walking away feeling angry and frustrated. And I felt guilty about feeling that way.
This season has just felt very out of character for me. I feel like there hasn't been a logical, natural progression from the angst and anger and depression and regrets. Where are the small doses that were promised? Where's the therapy? Where's the communication? It's just felt like they swept all that progression under the rug and hit reset back to season 4 with the friendly banter and bets and competition and collegial friendship.
Then the hook up without any further communication... Without almost any words at all, really. It just felt to me like that cheapened their relationship - made it just about the sex and their primal attraction to each other instead of (what seemed to me to be) a deeper, more meaningful relationship based on love and mutual respect and a deeper understanding of each other.
I don't know what to think, really.
I'd been avoiding all actor's interviews and such as I felt like those have changed my expectations and enjoyment of the show in the past. But I actually read a couple of interviews that Melissa did where she mentioned how she also struggled with how the first part of this season was written. And she worked a lot with Eric to figure out how to make the hook up written for this episode make sense. But she seemed to imply that there was a larger picture that will make more sense later. That's what I'm holding out hope for. If not... well... I don't know... Maybe it's time for me to move on. This was my comfort show that helped me escape real life issues. But now my real life issues have gotten more intense, and my comfort show doesn't provide comfort. I might need to find something else to provide the escape I need.
I hope that's not the case. I've enjoyed writing fanfiction and felt like this show and Chenford were different/better than others. But I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Hope you're still finding enjoyment in it.

Anyone need a nice, long story to read? Are you missing domestic, well established, loving Chenford? Or perhaps you read my story “Snowed In” and would be interested in an anniversary chapter?
Then I’ve got the story for you!
Tim and Lucy return to Denver with Genny and her kids. They stay a few days at a ski resort. Tim has plans to propose during this trip, but life keeps throwing obstacles at them.

“We even haven’t told anyone outside of this house that we’re back together.” Laughter started to bubble up and out of Genny. “Seriously? You think you’re keeping your relationship a secret?” she managed to say between her laughs. “What? You wouldn’t have known if I didn’t bring Lucy here and tell you,” he said defensively. Genny kept laughing. “Yeaaaaah. But you two work together.” “So?” “So… I’ve seen how you act together… even before you were together you acted differently around her,” she said again as though stating the obvious. “There’s no way people haven’t noticed the change.”

Worth the read. Very well written.
let's hurt tonight
“You came,” Tim says, his voice more timid than she’s ever heard it, an unmistakable surprise in his voice.
She nods. “I told you I would.”
He’s quiet for a minute, staring at her in a way that makes her feel like he’s looking right through into her soul. “I know, I just…” He pauses. “I wouldn’t have blamed you if you changed your mind,” he adds with a shrug.
(or, Tim has been going to a veterans support group, and invites Lucy to a meeting.)
Read on AO3.

Great, I hope the five cans you recycle per month offset the damage you’ve done to the environment by being not creative and using AI to create white babies for a mixed couple. I hope the “couple times” you used it, that you also posted, were worth all of that.
Obviously I’ve offended you, and for that I’m sorry.
If you had read my stories, you’d know that the girls are Tim and Ashley’s twins. So definitely white. The boy is Lucy and Noah’s, so a quarter Chinese and 3/4 white. And I thought the AI did a great job of making him look like Lucy.
My kids are also 1/4 Asian and 3/4 white, so I’m quite familiar with what that looks like.
Sorry, again, to have offended you. I hope your day gets better.

Maybe you feel pushed away from The Rookie fandom because you use AI in your cover art… try not actively taking things away from both the creatives and the climate next time
Wow. Okay. I’ve only used AI a couple times in my life and that was to create the pictures of *new* characters. I don’t have any skills in graphics/digital art otherwise. The rest of the pictures I post are found on the internet from the show or something one of the actors post.
Sorry if that doesn’t mesh with your style.
I actually am an avid recycler who avoids using plastics and tries hard to reduce my carbon footprint.
And I love seeing and sharing the creative things others create. That just not my skill set.
But that has nothing to do with my enjoyment of the show.
Have a good day.
