Sansa's ending as QitN in books completely rests on Rickon's survival . It's likely that he may survive . Sansa might end up as his regent and not a monarch in her own right which means her show ending was D&D's fanfiction . No wonder Rickon was brought back and had no dialouge only to be killed so stupidly. Considering Sansa's ending might be different in the books and her not ending as QitN doesn't make one an anti. Why do stans think her arc is wasted if she doesn't end up as Queen ?

Sansa fans are convinced she will become Queen because it is foreshadowed.

And I for my part wouldn’t say her arc is “wasted” if she doesn’t become queen, but I would be really puzzled about all that wasted foreshadowing. (see the difference, eh?)

No Sansa fan wants Rickon to die, but sry, not sry, I don’t think it is likely. Anyway, even if he survives, he might choose another path.

I agree that Rickon’s death seemed stupid, but that is also something GRRM does. Sometimes people die stupidly. And I don’t think that the ending of the books will be that different. I hope that how GRRM gets there will make all the difference.

And cut Sansa fans some slack: If you use arguments of Antis or Sansabuts you are bound to be bundled up with them.

And we have heard “Sansa is absolutely unimportant” far too often not to grow suspicious, even if your assessment “Sansa might not become queen, if Rickon survives” is not the same level of condescendigly dismissing our arguments.

And look, I’m as critical of D&D as anybody else, but the show is not fanfiction. It was started with the collaboration of GRRM and the author told them the ending. Therefore, it is an adaptation and as long as we don’t get the book it is the only canon we have.

His eyes are supposedly dark grey and look almost black, which means they might sometimes take on a different hue. I have dark grey eyes, sometimes they can look blue, sometimes green, but my favourite is when they look turquoise. The thing is, they might also have a hint of dark purple, making them look black. Because of the northern climate and the skies being dark, it would be impossible to tell. For drawing purposes, grey eyes have tiny yellow and brown flecks in them.

I’m starting this post with a note, because my simple plan fell apart pretty quickly. All I wanted was to talk about the name meanings in The Dreadful. Then I got lost in a Tolkien encyclopedia for an hour — and here’s what came out of it:

Let's talk about the names? This film has been waiting for its moment for a very long time, and Natasha is both the director and the writer, so no detail is there by accident.

The name Morwen finds its roots in the Welsh language, where it holds the meaning of Maiden. This ancient name stems from the rich Welsh tradition, embodying the concept of youthful innocence and purity. (x)

The name Morwenna has its origins in English-Cornish and signifies the meaning of Maiden, Fair. This ancient name carries with it a rich historical background dating back centuries. (x) From Old Cornish moroin meaning "maiden, girl" (related to the Welsh word morwyn). This was the name of a 6th-century Cornish saint, said to be one of the daughters of Brychan Brycheiniog. (x)

-> According to legend, when the villagers were building a new church, she collected a stone from under a cliff on the beach and carried it on her head to the place where she wanted the church built. The villagers wanted to locate the church elsewhere. St Morwenna rested on the way and lay the stone down on the ground - whereupon a spring of water appeared. Of course, we have to mention Tolkien, because why not. Excerpts from an article about Morwen that I found interesting:

Túrin [her son] had exiled himself out of Doriath and made himself a hero. The fame of the Black Sword [Túrin] reached to Hithlum, saying that he was cleansing Beleriand from perils, without Morwen knowing that he was her own son.

Morwen was then lost in the fog that arose from the Dragon's steamy breath and Mablung heard no news from her. Years later, Morwen, now in her fifties, came to the Forest of Brethil and found the graves of her children at Cabed Naeramarth. Húrin [her husband] found her there. She was dying, and asked her husband how their son found his sister; but Húrin never replied.

Morwen had three children: Túrin and two daughters, Urwen (died in childhood) and Nienor. Anne isn’t Morwen’s daughter, but apparently Seamus, Anne, and Jago grew up together, and after Seamus went to war, she became the closest person to her — and something about Morwen and Nienor’s relationship felt interesting to me too:

While Nienor remained with her mother in Dor-lómin due to Morwen's pride, messengers brought tidings to Túrin of Morwen and Nienor and, as Túrin grew to be taller than many Elves, Nienor grew to be "a flower in the grey North".

Morwen intended to leave Nienor in Doriath while she journeyed out to seek the truth of Túrin's survival. Nienor wished to stop her mother, but Morwen had left before she could even try. A company of Elves led by Mablung set off on Thingol's orders to keep Morwen safe, yet none of them expected that Nienor would sneak into their company. Nienor had initially hoped that she could convince Morwen to turn back, but Morwen refused, and tried to command her to go back to Doriath, but Nienor rebuked her saying that she had a will of her own.

[Honestly, it just gets worse and more interesting from there — but that only concerns Nienor herself. I’ll include the rest of her story in the post about Anne].

Who would Jago be in Morwen’s story? Could he be the dragon-king Glaurung (aka Father of Dragons) ? The evil trying to take away/kill her children?

...so what now? Are we starting a club called “I support all of Morwen’s rights and wrongs” & “Morwen did nothing wrong”? A saint innocent woman, a mother, protecting her children from a bastard? I mean, fuck yeah!

Young Seamus is a redhead. Young Anne is light-haired, but to be more specific, you could say strawberry blonde (a shade of red)... and Jago is dark-haired.

So, Tolkien’s Morwen outlived her children. Wild Card’s Morwen had no children. George’s Morwen Cat believed all her children were either dead or lost before she died. In Onibaba, the older woman’s son was killed in the war, and her daughter-in-law was told to abandon her.

In all cases there is magic or rumours of it, in some cases resurrection from the dead (<- maybe in The Dreadful too).

Sansa looks like she is trying to convey the message; "He's mine. Don't even think about it."

She wanted — oh, how she wanted! — to have enough of anger, sobbing, pain and cruelty. Enough of the fear that devoured her soul at night, mixing with her own bones and flesh. Enough of love, if that was what it was — destructive and wanting to destroy, Sansa Stark had never felt any other kind of love on her body and heart, but Jon...

He became the light, the heat, the glow in the fireplace of her bedroom in Winterfell. He didn’t burn, but gave security, he protected, he was native and familiar — Sansa trusted Jon unconditionally, and in him was the flame that she had read about as a child.

and his light stirred her beast.

He, warmed and tamed by Jon now, but before him so charred and hunted, suddenly raised his head, not wanting to fight, but feeling the need to protect what belongs to him. And there he go again: baring his fangs, growling, preparing to torment the Targaryen Queen as Ramsay's hounds had gnawed his enemies, in a greedy desire to possess.

Sansa feels jealousy, as a wolf senses blood boiling in her veins. And she's not ready to back down, not ready to let go.

Not her Jon into the dragon's mouth, which will blow through and spit him out.
