‘Strangers’ - A poem I wrote at 2am last night :)

Isn’t it strange

how quickly lives change

in a

minute, second,

hour?

Stranger, brother, star-crossed-

lover, flee

(and waste)

in the eye.

How strange it is

a joke can fade.

An eternal phrase

dissolved in time.

Teachers names knowledge games, loosen

and fall to replication

in mind.

Strange that a whispering snicker

with a ‘best friend for life’,

hidden under the school desk,

can hide so far in the cavities of the soul.

Flaking as fingernails

till it fractures and it

is gone. I know no such life, and won’t

when I leave, but legacy will remember my

mushrooms are so goofy like wtf?? they are just such silly fellas, wacky mates, fun guys

oh to be an edgy teenage boy living in a small, suburban town in the late 80s, spreading spooky rumours about the townsfolk to a group of misfit children, who then proceed to investigate these rumours and are put in fatal danger…..

when i don’t have motivation to study, i remind myself that i probably should. not because it will impact my future or anything but because as a remus kinnie, i will be crushed if i don’t get academic validation :)
