in it has one thing, and i still cant do it
“What do I have to do today?”
A comically long scroll rolls out of my bedroom and down the stairs

BotW hexcrawl idea
i had a idea of how to make a Zelda Breath of the Wild inspired campaign, but i can't seen to make it work so i will post it here so someone might play it. i didn't think of a solid set off rules so here it is the idea:
each hexagon has a number from 1 to 25 or something, this number represent the relative height of the ground there, i am assuming you use 5 kilometers hexes because that's what i thought would be good, you can see from the center of your hex to the center of the next hex of same height, if its a lower height you can see it from a distance+1 hexes away, you can travel faster with a para glider, but you can only go down in height, half of the height difference rounded down.
structures on the map also have a number on them, but instead is how far you can see this structure if you have free line of sight.
that's the idea, if you try it out let me know and maybe send me your world and notes so i can try it out too.

in the midst of my mind running around, i find myself with not one but four RPGs ideas, all of them opposite of each other, or better put, i dont want to mix them.
the classical fantastical medieval RPG that i posted about before
a way of structuring politics to make a attorney RPG like Suits, but i dont even know what set of dice to use to make a roll
an idea of making your city the center of the adventure, using regions and interest points of where you live, my idea is Percy Jackson, but fantastical politically focused games might also work
and a system to simulate election and political campaigns in the modern age, at least from where i live
i dont like to mix these ideas, but i also dont want to work on any of them while i dont work on the others, so i dont do anything, and also, they have conflicting visions, one thing that i want in one would go against the other
so i just did nothing, while wondering if rolling a 3 dice pool, fate dices, 2d6 like PbtA, d10 pools or whatever would be the best system for any idea
i will try to develop my ideas on different posts and see if any one wants me to make it, otherwise, leave your vote on this pool so maybe i focus on the most voted
this was more me venting my frustration but vote and share it so it can reach more people

One idea i had was to make arcane magic sung instead of drawed, to be a balance between construction bending solarpunk druids which earth bend and plant bend to create cities and the such, to the choir that would be a bunch of mages, i think that could be cool

magic
i would like to have a bigger theme around it, like Rick Riordan's mist, but i need a auxiliar magic system so players around too tied on plot to have magic, so i am just throwing the idea of nobles do magic with movements and stuff by writing on the air, kinda like Dragon Prince but with material components.
to cast a spell, you need freedom of movement, speak and any materials the spell ask, but instead of needing a specific item like bat shit, you need something like a descriptor, so a cloud of daggers would be a cloud of edges, and anything that is sharp could be used to make the spell work. a item can have multiple descriptors, like a tiger claw would be "sharp", and "bestial", all to the discretion of the table and the master, any item used to cast a spell is consumed, and when you gather or buy an item you roll a rarity die and this becomes the modifier of the item, you roll once for a bunch of the same item, i am not entirely sold on this system, it would be cool, but i can't play test it.
familiars can be used as material components, so if something needs a "flammable" component you could use your familiar that spits fire and cast the spell with no item bonus. it should make sense with your familiar, so not every familiar can be used as every component. familiars should be useful in combat more as pokemons and not as spell bot, so they have this nice benefit for mages without being any less useful for everyone else.
because you need to take a action from your 4 to get an item to your hand or to change items of your hand, you can cast most fast spells with one action instead of two or three. it should also cost a resource but i am not sure what, maybe a resource that gets better as the battle goes on to create tension, leave your ideas.
you can cast spells outside of combat for free if you take a lot more time to do it, like rituals in ded, any material cost would still apply.
if you see another spell cast casting a spell, you can spell duel them, you cast another spell and roll opposing checks and who wins decides the result and if you two roll the same, wild magic happens. this is blatantly stealing from DC20 spell duel, but its a cool mechanic, again, the table and the master decide if it makes sense on the narrative.
i don't have any idea on how to theme this around but i decided on some schools of magic, these could be
soul, life, death and healing
time, gravity and entropy
prophecies and divination
enchantment and illusion
transport, transformation, manipulation and creation
this is all very generic and depending on themeing it could be bundled differently, but i don't know themes for generic arcane magic, i wanted some philosophy to support it like i have for the solarpunk druids, but i cant think of anything.
i think that's all i have around generic arcane magic that i need to make magic accessible to this fantasy setting, maybe i could make it more steam age and in a setting where people are already slaves of capitalism instead of in the process of capitalism world domination. so the magic would be more to be fantastic steam technology, i don't like that.
thank you for reading :3

basic of system and scenario
i am still getting the ideas of the system, but i want something heroic, story based and that has a guard system for combat, basically you get a defensive bonus to where you are looking and a new system for casting magic that uses material components descriptors instead of specific items
the rest is basically a bunch of things i like of other systems that will need play testing that i can't do, like this goal oriented rewards and 4 action points like dc20
for the scenario i started with the idea that i wanted morally neutral capitalists that acted like capitalists and did a good boss fight, so i made the capitalist combat power scale with how much money they had. the actual magic system is that offered mortal work to a god increases their power and can actually born new gods and the lack of offerings can kill gods, it could be offerings by burning them or willingly trade with them and mortals can get powers from gods thru job contracts.
the gods themselves have rules to not act too much into the mortal world and yada yada yada, but some go out of their ways to get power thru coercing mortals to trade with them to unfair amounts.
druids in my scenario are solarpunk but medieval and can contruction bend or nature bend, so they balance nature and civilization to live. they mostly live in small cities very in sync with their surroundings and sometimes get into war with other cities because they aren't in sync with nature. they have a big city state that is a giant diverse city, with druids from all over the world, they have construction styles from all over the world and a very complex ecosystem.
i want a lot of copies from Pointy Hat because his ideas are so cool, so like the fantasmas, liches, all of that i would like to try on the scenario, specially the vigils, and something like demigods like Percy Jackson.
the character creation, i thought about separating the utility out of combat from the classes, so reading, animals, cooking, arcana, history, should all be other stuff instead of something your class gives you, so the fighter can be a lock picker and your barbarian can know history. so outside that i thought about a skill buying system for the ancestry, so you can mix and match everything from every race, i want something like race HRT like those trans comics, that's cool even if it would be a pain to run, so its probably be a supplement, instead of subclasses i want a specialization system like Numenera, so you have one thing your character is really good at doing and only you can do.
i think that's it, i will make random posts going deeper into each one of those things and i would really like to talk so give your feedback. :D
