Sirius Black x Fem!Reader

Summary: Sirius and Y/N meet at a family dinner and have some fun, later she finds out she is betrothed to some pureblood boy so Sirius comes up with a mental idea to save them both.

Warnings: Kissing, hints of sex, aggressive parents, underage drinking, idk my writing and English? Probably a few mistakes edited it at 2 am again

As Sirius got home and found his parents, he told them a well elaborated story about regretting his actions and that he’d be willing to marry a girl that’d make them proud. At first his parents were suspicious about what happened to change their son’s mind, something they spent years trying to do and now he just changed. He then told about meeting Y/n Watson in one of their parties, his mother showed the hint of an extremely rare smile when she heard that her son showed interest in a Watson out of all people, saying she would send an owl to Louise Watson right on that moment.

But Regulus saw right through him, he knew this behaviour was only an act, he knew Sirius just wanted his parents to save Y/n from her doomed marriage with Malfoy so he could marry her, Sirius was smart he had to admit, convincing their parents that they were the ones who wanted Sirius to marry Y/n was cunning. He just found weird that his brother would want to get married, but then again he saw right through him, he fancied Y/n, obviously and that’s why he was so weird about it.

“You fancy her” Regulus said as matter of factly as he pushed Sirius close to him. “You want to marry her and not only to save her from Malfoy isn’t it” He’s assumption made Sirius flustered for the second time that day.

“What’s with you and James with this assumptions today, i don’t fancy Y/n, I just can’t stand seeing her suffering in a engagement she doesn’t want to be in” Sirius was starting to get mad, but deep down he was starting to doubt his intentions, was she really just a best-friend with benefits for him or was she something more? No, she was just a friend.

“Whatever you say brother” Regulus said leaving to his room.

Sirius’ parents managed to convince the Watsons to give their daughter’s hand to him after they found out about Lucius, long letters and agreements were needed, but they set a dinner meeting. Truth is that his mom wanted him to marry her as much as he did, it would mean that Sirius would unite the Royal family of Watson with the Noble house of Black and for the first time, since Sirius’ first words she was immensely pleased with him. Until their parents had a few more things sorted out, took them a couple days, Sirius got nervous, because he promise he’d make it back to the Potters fast, but this arrangements took more time than he thought it would and after what Sirius heard, apparently Y/n’s parents were hiding that she was ‘missing’.

Sirius was waiting impatiently in the living room for his parents to give him the final news. When his mom came in and called him “Sirius, it was rather tricky, after talking with the Watsons we made contact with the Malfoys apologising for the inconvenience, they were quite unhappy, but we managed to offer your cousin’s Narcissa hand for their son Lucius, which they were more than happy to accept after finding out she and Lucius had already been dating for a while, quite the opportunity, can’t deny it’s a bit suspicious though, he’d probably cheat on Y/n, she’s lucky you offered yourself. A Watson, my son marrying a Watson, descents of Salazar Slytherin and Merlin himself” she finished talking more to herself than with the boy in front of her, but Sirius’ mind was already gone as he was heading to the door when his mother called again “Where do you think you’re going? We have much to do, first I’m going to notify our family and friends about the engagement and you will bring Y/n here, your father and I want to meet her properly, you two will be married soon after graduation”

He grabbed the opportunity, it was now or never “Sure, mother, i’m actually going to bring her here right now so you can meet her properly” with that he left as fast as he could leaving his mother surprised.

Arriving at the Potters, Sirius broke the news of his engagement surprising everyone at first, they were worried since they were too young, but they knew the circumstances and their families’ biddings, so all the Potters could do was congratulate them and feel sad that these kids were suffering in their parents’ hands. He then he asked where was Y/n, they needed to see her parents and then his, after all. Y/n wasn’t there anymore, scared that she may have gone home, Sirius asked about her, and they explained her parents showed up and they couldn’t keep her there. James was outraged but nevertheless, powerless.

“I need to go” Sirius said desperately while leaving to get his broom.

“Sirius wait!” James gasped running after him “Go get your fiancée mate” he winked, knowing his friend would be fine and would do anything to help her. “But I’m coming with you”

“What no! You can’t, her parents won’t like to see you there James, to say the least” Sirius warned, worried about his friend, he wasn’t thinking.

“She’s my friend too! I want to help her, I don't care if her parents fuck me” he sighed angrily and headed to the door, no one could stop him if they tried “Besides it’s a beautiful day to tell your future wife you love her” James smugly smiled “If it helps, Lily says it’s obvious she likes you back” he added chuckling.

Sirius felt the butterflies on his stomach again, the mere thought of his feelings for Y/n made them appear, he was in deep denial of them, it was supposed to be only a friendship with benefits, no feelings and he let himself fall, he never did before, but this time he did, he did hard and he wasn’t supposed to. He wouldn’t admit those feelings, not even to himself, but he loved her. Lily was probably wrong, Y/n didn’t like him back, she wouldn’t, they had an agreement, she wasn’t as weak as he was. If only he knew the truth.

Y/n was at her house, fighting with her parents about why she ran away from the Malfoys.

“We know that you and the Blacks’ son left saying you weren’t marrying Lucius, I talked with Orion Black, Y/n I swear to Merlin i’m only doing it out of respect for my friend, because if it was up to you, you’d be dead.”

“But i didn’t do anything wrong! The deal still wasn’t made, I wasn’t betrothed to him yet” she pleaded trying to soothe whatever anger she’d be facing in the next few hours. “The Malfoys are-”

“A very respectable family” Her mother interrupted her before she said something she’d regret but Y/n wasn’t buying any of that shit.

“You keep saying that, after a while it loses it’s meaning”

“Y/n that’s enough, it’s about respect for our family’s traditions! I don’t want you to disgrace generations of Watsons for god know what is it you want, what you did was reckless and inappropriate” Her father shouted, scaring everyone.

“Why is it inappropriate that I want to marry for love?”

“BECAUSE! we’re royals, we need to marry whoever our family approves”

“Rubbish, that’s not true, you say that, but we all know here, that there is no Wizarding royalty. You and this family are just a fraud.” Her father’s face went from angry to something beyond that, she was being extremely disrespectful and needed to suffer consequences.

Everything just went vanished form her mind, being replaced by an excruciating pain, she couldn’t move, she felt trapped, he used the Cruciatus curse. Again. but the pain ceased after a knock on the door.

Mr. Watson paused his accusations when their house elf, Aerin, announced that Sirius Black and a young boy were at the door. “Ok invite the boys in and tell them to wait on the guest living room, go! Now Y/n, don’t think for a second we don’t think this is suspicious” he pointed his wand at her “I received an owl from Walburga Black asking your hand in matrimony, for her son? After your great escape from Malfoys with the boy, do you have any idea how much this compromises our relationship with them?” He sounded so angry, even though he didn’t really care about the Malfoys, Y/n was just waiting for the curse to hit her again “Were you and Sirius dating behind our backs? Is that why you were so against the idea of marrying Lucius Malfoy?”

“Father, I’m sorry I shouldn't have escaped, I won’t disobey you and mother ever again I promise” she said still lying on the floor “And i’ll apologise to the Malfoys.” She hated apologising to her father but she didn’t want to feel that pain again, but even with the apology, her father hit her with the curse again, that excruciating pain hit her once more, it was too much, but she had to be stronger “I’m sorry please! Make it stop father! Dad! I can’t move” she begged trying to reach for her wand, it was almost impossible to move with the pain, every move made everything worse, like fire burning through her skin, her wand was close, only one more stretch. “Stupefy!” She yelled but her father was faster and protected himself, hitting her again and again repeatedly causing the same pain until she gave up trying to hex him, begging for forgiveness, skin bruised.

“Good, don’t think this is forgiven, now let’s go meet your future husband. By the way Y/n, consider your self very lucky, if Walburga hadn’t offered her son to wed you, you’d be in much more trouble and don’t think you’re safe just because you have this boy” he said hissing his words, Elena could feel the poison in his voice behind the fake smile and politeness. “Aerin! Go call Mrs. Watson and tell her we’re waiting for her in the guest living room”

The two boys were sitting in the couch trying to hear something, but the only noises in that enormous room was their breaths’ echo. Finally Y/n appeared, she followed her father closely behind him, sitting next to Sirius, he and James thought her actions were being very odd, she was sitting still and her face was numb and completely pale, Cleary not the Y/n they knew. The question was what had her parents done to her, she mumbled a hello to the boys and put her hand in Sirius’ lap, he grabbed it warmly and caressed it, until he saw a weird mark and pushed her sleeves up. “Wha- What is that Y/n?!” Sirius exclaimed, she quickly tried to take her hand off his grasp be he kept holding it strongly.

“Who did this to you Y/n?” James angrily insisted but she shook her head, growing worried for his friend, he turned to her father who was staring at the little scene as if he didn’t have a single worry in his life, but when they made eye contact Charles clenched his jaw and look at Y/n with a killing gaze and something snapped in James’ mind. “Was it you?” He got up heading to where her father was sitting, taking his wand out of his pocket, he’s face was blank, he didn’t care about a boy threatening him, but if he moved another inch, he wouldn’t be so polite.

During James’ distraction Sirius looked for approval in Y/n’s face but she didn’t do anything, which he took as a yes. “James, stop, you’re overreacting. I got hurt after falling of my broom earlier, my father didn’t do anything.” Y/n suddenly stood up and grabbed James’ shoulder, pushing him down on the couch. “Sorry father” He and Sirius looked astonished at their friend’s weird, to say the least, behaviour. They realised that doing something in front of her parents wouldn’t do any good to her, so it was better to drop it for now.

Her parents introduced themselves properly, and talked with them for a while, the air was thick and Y/n’s skin was losing all its colour, they had tea and Sirius passed his mother’s invitation for a family gathering at his house. As it was getting later Y/n asked if she could show the House to James before he left and her parents reluctantly permitted, not wanting her alone causing any trouble.

She showed them a few living areas, music room, the ballroom and the long corridors, the tour was completely quiet, no one dared to talk about what happened, until they reached two huge detailed doors on the second floor and Y/n broke the awkward silence “This is my favourite place in the house, my parents and my sister never bother me here” she said opening the doors revealing a palatial library with huge bookshelves, corridors, sofas and tables, two levels with elegant staircases with a light beam passing through the immense windows with view for the now snowy gardens, brightening the dark wood room, it was a dream land for any bookworm.

“Wow, you really do live in a palace” James sighed, remembering their other friends “Moony and Lily, would’ve loved this” He was distracted for a moment before reality came back to him, when saw Sirius worriedly looked at the girl next to them.

“Yeah they would, I told them about here and they seemed so excited… I wish they could come here, but my parents would never allow” she trailed off, voice weak, fingers lightly brushing a bookshelf with old books near.

Looking at her arm Sirius remembered of himself after his parents cursed him with Cruciatus “Y/n what happed with your arms?” Sirius tried to reach for her but she was hesitant, which only worried him more, she was never averted to his touch, usually she was always hugging him or grabbing his hand or any kind of physical touch. She was cold, like she is with people she doesn’t know or like, seeing her acting like this broke his heart. “Love, Tell me what’s happening please, I’m your future husband after all” he tried to joke, but her face continued pale and stern.

“Nothing, I told you I’m fine and that’s the end of the tour, you should leave, it’s getting late” Y/n looked mad and started heading off the library closing her hand tightly until the physical pain from her nails breaking her skin surpassed any emotion she could be feeling right now.

“Like hell i’ll let you here alone with them Y/n, you’re mental” James snapped out of his surprise before Sirius, he suspected that her parents were either torturing or manipulating her, or both, probably both. His instincts told him to protect her, he wanted to take her out of there safe, he couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t leave right there with them.

“Y/n…” Sirius whispered “why don't you spend the last few days of the break at my house? My mother would feel honoured to have you and I’ll protect you from anything, just tell me what happened, you’re not safe here” He pleaded her, getting closer, trying to touch her, but again she shoved him off.

“Go i don’t want you here and neither want your help” she coldly hissed at him, looking more sane and angry than she had during the whole night, that single phrase heaved in his chest more than it should, he felt small, his entire body heaved and went cold, like someone was was crushing his heart inside his chest. He tried to speak but he was again at on of the rare moments he was left speechless. James on the other hand had a lot of things to say in his mind, but she was faster “Aerin!” Y/n called for her house-elf and she appeared there in a second. “Take Messrs. Black and Potter to the door please and if my mother asks for me i’ll be in my room” She finished with a cold voice that matched perfectly with her mother’s.

Sirius and James tried to interfere but before they could Aerin took their hand and appareted with them to the entrance hall. The boys tried to fight but were forced to leave with the big heavy wooden doors hitting their faces. Sirius stood there with his chest still heavy, he looked like a puppy who got dumped out of his home, he didn’t understand why Y/n didn’t trust him enough to tell the truth, she always talked to him about everything.

“Hey mate are you alright?” James saw the dumbfounded look on his friend’s face.

“Yeah i’m wonderful, Y/n’s the problem”

“Something changed with her, do you think her parents did something?” James asked studying his friend’s actions carefully.

“Apparently, I think it’s the Cruciatus curse” He stated realisation hitting him.

“Well that changes everything” James added gesturing to open the door, but Sirius interrupted.

“She’s my best friend. That hasn’t changed. She can say whatever she wants but I won’t leave her suffering here”

“Well padfoot, it’s clear your feelings for her have, you’d do anything for her even when she turns you away” James mumbled hopeful that his friend would finally admit what was happening during the last months.

“Yeah, I think they did” Sirius didn’t realise what he said until it was too late, he loved her.

James almost tripped, if they didn’t have to help Y/n he’d probably tease Sirius endlessly. The uncountable amount of jokes in James’ head were interrupted by what looked like a silvery Black dog. No way.

It was Y/n’s Patronus, Sirius was sure she had told him about it before, but she mentioned a Leopard or something, not a dog, most definitely not Sirius’ Animagus form. The boys knew exactly what that meant. Remus told them about how Patronuses change when someone falls in love, it’s rare and it usually means the other person is your soulmate. Lily wasn’t wrong after all.

a/n: Oh my god i completely forgot that i wrote this part!! 😂 This was supposed to be Ch. 3 but somehow i skipped it, so now it’s 2 and a half lol. Y/n woke up in the middle of the night after a nightmare with her parents, feeling Sirius’ arms around her waist, she was a bit surprised but it felt good. She thought she might've made too much noise because Sirius woke up too and when he caught up with what was happening he smirked. “Well darling, if you wanted to cuddle, just needed to ask me, you don’t have to wait for me to fall asleep so you can pull my arms around you” he winked and Y/n hit his shoulders telling him to shut up. He knew that they probably did it subconsciously but Sirius wouldn’t miss the opportunity to tease her.

“Hey are you okay? You seemed agitated? He whispered, worried about her.

“I’m so sorry for waking you up, I just had a nightmare” she murmured.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay, i’m here” he tightened his grip around her and kissed her forehead.

“Sirius, if my parents are going to do, what I think they are” Y/n said her voice a bit weaker this time “Can I ask you something?” She look up at him from hist chest.

“Is everything alright with you parents?” She stared at him and raised her eyebrows as if waiting for an answer “Anything love, but what do you think your parents are going to do?” he said caressing her cheeks, looking at her lovingly, but still, worried.

She sighed “The way Malfoy was talking about… it seemed like… I don’t know- but it can’t be good.” She lied, she was almost sure of what her parents had planned for her. “Ugh I do everything right for them and now- now they probably know i’m ‘off their premeditated tracks’ and they do this to try to control me. They’re cruel” she sighed again, annoyance in her voice.

Sirius understood her, he himself was scared of his parents, that was one of the reasons he fooled around with so many girls before meeting Y/n, though after meeting her he didn’t want any other girl, it was odd for him, they knew each other for months now and he already liked her so much.

He felt sorry for her “Y/n… I-” she stopped him before he could say anything.

“Hm, i-i know we… hum” she was struggling to find the word she needed.

“Just tell me love, I won’t judge you, unless you do some silly imitation of Peter, then i’ll be forced to” he joked, making her laugh but quickly return to the serious face she had before.

“So, hum, i know we’re friends now, really good ones a-and we promised we wouldn’t-” she stopped, breaking eye contact with him to move her gaze to his hands on her cheeks. “But i wanted to- be with you… before my parents’ plans for me begin” He couldn't help but smile at the girl, she was so sweet and he’d do anything to see a smile on her face, or to make her scream his name, the way he felt when he was with her was something he never felt before. The truth in her eyes melted him, He’d to anything to help and it’s not like he didn’t want it too, because he did, he really did want her all for him.

“You don’t need to ask me twice, love” He said, voice husky, eyes moving to her lips, he pulled her over him to kiss her passionately, before quietly carrying her to his empty dorm and, since the boys were sleeping in the common room, lying her in the bed. That night they both connected deeper than friendship would allow, again, they explored each other's bodies kissing every bit of skin they could, truth is, they’ve never felt so good in anyone else’s arms, they just couldn’t get enough and went all the way, feelings blooming with every movement.

A few hours later, they lied down comfortably next to each other, breathing their familiar scents. He smelled heavenly like sweat, vanilla and something fruity a bit spicy, the smell that made her knees weak.

“Siri, this thing with the Malfoys, they’re up to something” Sirius hummed quietly in question, his eyes still closed. “my parents, they’re up to something” Y/n frowned. “I'm scared of them” she whispered, when she said that he grabbed her closer than he was before and hugged her strongly.

“I won’t let them hurt you Y/n, I promise” he whispered kissing her cheeks while stroking her hair, the reassurance calmed her down and soon they were both asleep. They weren’t sure of what all of this meant, this night, the night at her house, but they knew that they felt safe in each others arms and that was all Y/n and Sirius needed right now. To feel better, but it was just friendship, they slept together when they needed each other, but it was like friends with benefits, right? Sirius wasn’t one for commitment, or so she thought.

The next morning, the Marauders woke up, still dizzy because of the party, when they didn’t find neither Sirius or Y/n the boys exchanged mischievous glances, except for Remus and Lily who had a stern look on her face.

“Come on guys, leave them alone, we all know Y/n wasn’t feeling good yesterday, Sirius must’ve taken her to bed to make her sleep more comfortably, then he probably fell asleep with her and cuddled like they always do” He said trying to reason with the boys, principally James that had the devil in his eyes.

“Moony, Moony, i believe our dear Padfoot is shagging our dear friend Y/n/n again and Peter and i are about to find out if that’s true or not- It’s up to you two to come up with us and see for yourselves or stay here letting curiosity consume you” James concluded with a smug smile on his face. Remus let a sigh and pinched his nose in defeat, going upstairs with the boys to maybe see a scene he didn’t want to, Lily followed trying to stop the group.

To Remus’ disgrace his friend was right, when they entered the room they found themselves seeing Y/n’s and Sirius’ clothes on the floor and their bare bodies tangled under the sheets, Y/n’s faced buried in his neck, they looked peaceful, her chest was almost showing, almost. Remus and Lily were filled with guilt for evading. “James, we really shouldn't evade their space like that-” she was interrupted by Sirius waking up because of their sounds, Peter had gasped too loudly suppressing a laugh when he saw his two friends.

“Well, well, well, look what we have here” James whistled “Looks like Padfoot is shagging our friend, after all” He offered Lily and Remus and glance that said i was right and you weren’t.

“What the-” He looked at Y/n’s chest buried against his and immediately pushed the sheets to cover her, he looked angry that his friends almost saw too much. “What are you doing?!” The movements in the room woke her, when she learned what was going on she started laughing and Sirius did too after the initial shock left, the following days the Marauders would mercilessly tease Y/n and Sirius for the little scene they found, James being the worst of course. He’d tease about their parents finding out, about how his parents would be so happy or how now he was scared that Sirius’d want to go to bed with him and many others jokes.

Lily couldn’t deny she was curious, but she waited for her to be alone with Y/n so the boys wouldn’t put their noses where they weren’t meant to. They were in Lily’s dorm when she finally asked.

“So… you and Black huh?” Lily asked with a smirk in her face as Y/n nodded smily and the both girls laughed. “Oh my Godric, when did it start?” She had so many questions.

“Don’t tell the boys” she pleaded, when Lily agreed she continued, the both girl giggled “This summer before begging of classes, at my house”

“THIS SUMMER?! it’s been to long, Y/n/n! Why haven’t you told me before?” Lily hit her shoulder playfully.

“Theres nothing really to tell, it had happened only once, before last night”

“Merlin Y/n/n! You like him! You’re blushing” Lily was now filled with realisation, laughing at her friend, that was now looking outraged.

“Of course not! we’re only friends, I don’t even know what last night meant, but probably nothing, you know Sirius” Lily didn’t know who Y/n was trying to convince she or herself.

“Whatever you say” Lily winked at her, knowing she needed time to sort her feelings out alone. The girls laughed and talked the rest of the night. But Lily’s suggestion never left Y/n’s mind.

After the party Y/n felt grateful for Sirius and her friends being by her side when she was feeling vulnerable, she liked them more, each day that passed, especially Sirius. Their little encounters started to get more frequent and now they even flirted openly in class, in the great hall, everywhere, the whole school knew something was happening, breaking numerous girls’ hearts as they lost hope of being with the older Black. Everyone except Y/n and Sirius knew about their real feelings. James, Lily, Peter and Remus would also help her, standing by her side, pranking her, hugging her, talking or whatever necessary, soon she had even forgotten about her parents and speculations.

Remus, Lily Y/n were also getting closer as the exams approached the horizon, since James, Peter and Sirius wouldn’t study even if hell froze over. Comments like “What homework?” And “Which exam?” Were now the most used by the two boys on the common room. The following weeks Y/n, Remus and Lily started hanging out even more on the library, studying for the exams before Christmas break, she was definitely the only Marauder that would study with him and Lily, Peter was too distracted to study with them. She was very smart and managed to have perfect grades without studying, but even though she enjoyed helping Remus and Lily study, their dedication was inspiring.

Although, this semester Y/N stopped caring about the exams, since realisation downed her, in the future she would be married to some pureblood of her parents’ choice and wouldn’t be allowed to have a career, so what was the point in studying. Nevertheless Remus and Lily didn’t let her lose hope and would always try to study with her anyway, remembering the girl that, a little help was never too much and that her parents demanded only Outstanding grades in her O.W.L.s and future N.E.W.T.s even though they didn’t know why the girl was being so careless. They assumed it had something to do with her family.

One afternoon in the library, snow was falling beautifully on the outside, Remus was revising Charms with Y/n as he noticed her absent minded answers and his worries about her only grew, so he carefully put his books down and looked at her with his chocolate brown eyes.

“Y/n, what is up with you? Is it something related to what Malfoy told you the other day?” Remus asked concerned, startling the girl sitting next to him, she was looking through the snowy windows.

“W-What?” She gasped, recovering from the surprise. “Ah, Hm i- nothing, i’m fine” she lied, she wasn’t fine, she was afraid of her future “Nothing really, let’s get back to Transfiguration shall we?” She tried to avoid the talk.

“It was Charms” he corrected causing Y/n to curse under her breath for being so distant “Please tell me what’s wrong, I promise i won’t tell anyone, i’m rather good at keeping secrets” he hasn’t bought any of her lies.

She knew she could trust Remus, but she also didn’t want to look weak, she hated that, hated her situation and status. Against all of her best thoughts she decided to trust the sandy haired boy with her fears. “It’s my family, I think they are going to give my hand to the Malfoys, as in marrying Lucius and I don’t know what to think, if they're really going to this- my life is over after Hogwarts, it'll be resumed in being a wife and a mother with no career, because I’ll need to ‘give my full attention to my dear husband’ that’s why i’ve been a bit distant from school lately, honestly I don’t even know why my parents bother with my grades, I guess it’s just for appearance and keeping the family name honourable” she sighed, disgusted.

Remus knew of these pureblood traditions, but even so he was horrified with what his friend would have to go thorough in her life, she’d have to give her freedom away. She must’ve realised the shock on his face because she continued “I don’t need you to feel sorry for me, it’s my destiny I just- have to get used to it, at least i’m not being disowned and losing everything, that would be frightening” she was definitely trying to hide her emotions under a strong facade but Remus wanted to help.

“Y/n-” he mumbled.

“No it’s fine really, I’m fine” she was now desperately trying to hide her feelings.

“You don’t need to pretend your fine for me, i’m your friend, you can trust me” he said softly patting her shoulders” he paused and she leaned into his touch, allowing him to go on “What your family’s doing is horrible, I’m sorry, but are you really sure they’re going to do this? Can’t you ask your sister or brother if they know something?” He suggested.

“No, we probably already know the answer, they were my age when they were betrothed too, but unlike me they didn’t bother. My sister was happy and William even got to choose his beloved pure wife” she laughed humourlessly.

“Y/n, is there any way I could help you? Or if you need to run or something” he was trying to help, but didn’t know how, there wasn’t much he could do being what he was, so he hugged her.

“I could never run away from home, but thank you” she whispered.

Remus cleared his throat “Hm- does Sirius know about your suspicion?” He was now concerned about the little dangerous game his friends were playing.

“No, why does it matter? And considering his family he shouldn't be surprised” Y/n lied again, she just didn’t want Sirius to know, she didn’t know why but she didn’t.

“Y/n, please, you and I know, you two can’t be that oblivious” Remus noted with a light scoff, it was obvious to everyone that the couple was in love, except maybe for the two of them.

“No I don’t” she insisted and Remus thought it was better to ignore, going back to study with her.

After her conversation with Moony, Y/n seemed to be acting perfectly fine as if nothing had happened. She and Sirius were flirting in every class they had together, whispering and touching each other. Lupin figured it was her way of distracting, he was concerned that the both friends were in love, but with Y/n’s future engagement he feared it would end up in heartbreak.

Summary: Sirius and Y/N meet at a family dinner and have some fun, later she finds out she is betrothed to some pureblood boy so Sirius comes up with a mental idea to save them both.

When Y/n got home, she had time before going to the Malfoys, so she was planning on how to gently tell her parents she didn’t want to go and that she wasn’t going to accept their marriage proposal too. She spend days thinking and decided it was time, because her mom was already telling her to get prepared to go, so she sent a letter to Sirius as promised telling him she would talk to her parents on that day.

Later the family sat down in a living room and waited for Y/n to say what she wanted to.

“So? What do you want to tell us, your father and I are busy” her mother said impatiently, not knowing the bomb her daughter would throw at her.

Y/n took a deep breath and said “I don’t want to marry Malfoy, I’m not accepting his proposal.” As simple as that single phrase sounded like, it cost her so much more. Her parents were outraged to say the very least, how could she misbehave after all those year of being so obedient.

“What do you mean you won’t? Yes you will, the Malfoys are getting their answers next week” Her mother screamed.

To say her parent were furious was an understatement. She was disrespecting not only their choice of husband, but also their ancient family traditions. But in reality that’s exactly what she felt like, those traditions were ancient and full of nonsense, it is completely wrong to promise a girl to some narcissist, conservative, arrogant, aggressive prick and make her spend the rest of her life with him, loosing all of her liberty.

“Are you calling Lucius a prick? He is a member of one respectable family Y/n!” Her father grunted, grabbing his wand.

“Why? Because they’re pureblood?” Y/n yelled, since she was already fighting their principles she might as well do it right. “That’s nonsense why would a blood status change a person? It doesn't change anything, I know many muggle borns who are ten times better people than you are, you think you can judge everyone, just because you’re pure? Or rich? Or call yourself royal? Which is absurd by the way, you and I know there isn’t royalty in our world, you only say that because you want to be better than everyone else, so you lie and you’re powerful enough for people to believe you” she roared, it felt incredible to take some of her frustrations out of her chest for once in her life, she didn’t have to pretend to be a well behaved purist, like she was before.

Mr. Watson wouldn’t believe his daughter, he didn’t want to, so he kept blinding himself from the ugly truth that he was indeed wrong. “I won’t tolerate you disrespecting our tradition Y/n” with a wave from his hands Charles hit Y/n with the Cruciatus curse, taking her to the ground almost immediately.

“Dad! Stop- you’re hurting me, please! You’re hurting me” She cried and begged and squirmed, it felt agonising the pain touched each and every part of her body, the tears ran freely down her face, after being hit a certain amount of times she just felt numb to the pain, she stayed still wrapping her knees with all the strength she had left.

“You are going to marry Lucius Malfoy and you are going to accept his proposal in person when you go to his house, because you’re still going and I don’t want to hear a single complain or any of these ideas you cultivated in your mind, you are going to bring us respect” With no remorse her father left her there small, hugging her legs and crying alone, earning only a polite nod from her mother followed by a ‘I warned you’ look.

The rest of her time at home went by so slow she thought a whole month had passed, she was now feeling so bad being in her own house that she almost wanted to go to the Malfoys. Her parents weren’t even letting her see the mail, which meant she wasn’t receiving Sirius’ letters. Her sister wouldn’t talk with her anymore, scared of having the same fate as Y/n and her brother didn’t even know what was happening with his little sister.

The day she was going to the Malfoy manor had arrived. Her parents dropped her there in that shark tank like it meant nothing, they didn’t even bother saying good bye, she had come a long way from being the perfect daughter, who was always respectful with her parents and their ideals. Being at the Malfoys felt like being in Azkaban, but it was still better than being at home at least, there she was treated with extreme respect by Abraxas Malfoy and his wife, they were doing it out of interest of course but it was better than nothing, her only problem was Lucius, she hated him and hated even more that she’d need to sleep in his bed with him and even more that she’d have to accept his proposal by the end of the week. She felt stuck.

After having dinner Mrs. Malfoy showed you to Lucius’ room, while the house elf carried Y/n’s trunk next to the bed. The room was nice and big but it was cold and dark, she felt bad in there, fear creeping into her chest as her whole body felt numb, she just wished she could be in Sirius’ bed in the dormitories, she didn’t know why but there, by Sirius’ side was the most perfect place to be, she felt warm and safe.

“That’s it sweetheart, goodnight” after showing the room, with a final goodbye Mrs. Malfoy let her there alone, with Lucius. He was handsome, sharp jaw, strong upper body, beautiful face, she couldn’t deny it but it felt so wrong, it was sickening, she didn’t love him, she couldn’t, he was a terrible person.

“Look Y/n/n, I have to say, back in Hogwarts I was a bit jealous from you and Sirius, but now, being here with you, feels so right” he said as he was inching closer to her “Come on, let’s go to bed” his fingers were brushing her waist, the single phrase and action made her feel sick, his touch was ice cold, but what choice did she have. Y/n knew the punishment she’d have to face if she didn’t behave

“Ok” she replied, mouth dry “I’ll go change, in the bathroom”. She opened her trunk and looked for comfortable pyjamas, but to her surprise there were only vulgar sleeping clothes and lingeries, she felt a cold in her spine that made her sicker, her mother had it all planned out, crazy she thought, her mother is crazy. The last straw was when she saw a note from her mom.

Bought you some new clothes for you to share with Lucius.

She wondered what would It feel like to have a real caring mother, not one that just clearly wants her to have sex so she can have grandchildren. But she was born on a deranged family. She had no choice, so she just chose the pieces that were most discreet and even those weren't even a bit discreet, it was a black lace bra that at least covered her breasts perfectly and went a bit down and matching panties, if there was something she was sure of, it was that she didn’t want to see Lucius’ face when he saw her.

But again, she had no choice, when she entered the room again Lucius gaze fell directly on her chest. “My eyes are up here you know right?” She asked with a bored voice, while lying down in bed, much to her dismay.

“Feisty” he chuckled lying in bed besides her “I’ve always liked you Watson” Lucius was being a tease but she could see it in his eyes that he was drooling over her. She hated it. So she turned over and closed her eyes, wanting desperately to sleep for the whole time she’d be stuck there “Good night for you too, love” the nickname Sirius used to call her seemed so cold now, sounded fake coming form Lucius’ mouth. That night her thoughts kept going back to Sirius, she wondered if he was trying to talk to her, trying to reach her somehow but being unsuccessful thanks to her cruel parents. She missed him, his touch, his affections and she missed Lily, if she was here they’d talk the whole night and then maybe it wouldn’t fell so lonely, she missed reading with Remus, joking and pranking people with James and how protective he was and Peter’s cute but sarcastic comments, she missed her true family.

The next few days sucked, Y/n was running out of the less vulgar clothes, Lucius was always trying to kiss her and get close to her and the Malfoys’ forced kindness was beginning to annoy her, on top of that she didn’t feel like home in this house, she didn’t feel comfortable to do anything, basically she was counting the days until she could go back to Hogwarts.

Sirius knew something was wrong when Y/n didn’t answer any of his letters, assuming that she’d now probably be at the Malfoys, he needed to talked to her. The thought of Malfoy touching her and the things he could do made his blood boil, she was his friend after all. But things at his home weren’t good, his parents were breathing down his neck so he need to find a way to escape, so, of course he asked James for help.

James and Sirius had come up with a plan, but it was certainly dangerous and potentially problematic, just like everything they did. The plan was: Sirius would sneak away from his house, once he managed to do so he would meet with James in his house and the both boys would go pay the Malfoys a visit, once inside Sirius would need to distract the Malfoys since their families are friends while James helped Y/n run away to his house. It wasn’t quite a brilliant plan, they didn’t have much time to think, but Sirius needed to be sure she was safe.

Now Sirius thought he would have great difficulty running away, he waited for everyone to fall asleep to leave his bedroom, managed to avoid the elves, went to the broom closet, grabbed a broomstick, everything was doing great, except for one thing. Sirius’ brother Regulus thought he had herd something and went downstairs, only to find he’s rebellious younger brother trying to run away.

“What do you think you’re doing this time of night Sirius?” Regulus asked not even a bit surprised by his brother’s actions.

Shit, Sirius thought, he had two options lie or tell the truth. He chose the boldest one “Reg, don’t tell our parents” he looked helpless for the first time in his life, Regulus was quite startled “I need to save my friend, she’s in danger. I know we’re not in the best terms but, do this one favour for me-” he paused “I really care about this girl, she’s the Watson’s daughter, you know her”

“What? The Watson’s… you mean Y/n? What happed Sirius? She’s my friend too, is she okay?” He was going to tell his parents before but now he was curious and worried, he liked Y/n, she was nice to him on eventual encounters in their common room or classes.

“She’s- she’s being held captive at the Malfoys” it wasn’t a lie.

“Held captive? And what about her parents? her dad is the Minister of Magic Law Enforcement, what is it you can do that he can’t and on top of that why are the Malfoys supposedly holding her captive?” Regulus was being particularly annoying, he was suspicious of Sirius’ intentions.

“Her parents gave her away, they want her to marry Lucius, but she doesn’t. And i’m willing to ask for her hand if she accepts me, but she wanted to confront her parents, which clearly went terribly wrong” Sirius tried to defend his theses but he didn’t know if Regulus would be willing to let him go or he’d say that she has to marry who her parents want.

“You’re being absurd Sirius, it can’t possibly be that bad, it’s a marriage, considering our families, it’d happen sooner or later. You can’t stop it, if the Malfoys tell our parents they’ll kill you” Regulus was irritated at first, she was only doing what she was supposed to.

“I’m going either way” Sirius wasn’t letting his brother get in the way.

“Ok.” Sirius would be lying if he said he’s jaw hadn’t dropped to the floor. Actually Regulus was quite shocked too, hearing he’s brother say he was willing to marry a girl and a girl that their parents would approve was indeed shocking and he liked Y/n, the thought of her suffering made him less strict with his brother for once.

“W-well- hum ok then” Sirius left as quickly as he could, afraid this was only an hallucination.

James was waiting for Sirius with his bedroom’s window open. When he entered they both went to bed and talked until they fell asleep, the next day would be eventful. Assuming they woke up right before lunch, the boys hurriedly set everything necessary for the plan, muttered apologies to James’ parents and went to pay a visit to Lucius Malfoy. The weather outside was cold, but the sun was shining, making the travel rather beautiful, but the boys didn’t even notice, they were too worried, James couldn’t stop thinking about how Malfoy was treating his best friend, he hated him so much, Sirius had another motives, he hadn’t realised yet and it may take a little push, but he was jealous.

Arriving at that creepy mansion James and Sirius separated, James sneaked in quietly looking for Y/n’s belongings, while Sirius knocked on the door. The house elf asked him to come in and called his master. Mrs. Malfoy was quite surprised but tolerant.

“Good Morning, may i ask your name?” She asked politely

“Oh i’m Sirius Black, Walburga’s son”

“Oh! Sirius what a pleasant surprise, is Walburga going to visit us today?”

“No madam” he paused, grabbing a gift he stole from his parents earlier “my mom asked me to give you this present, I don’t really know why, she didn’t want to tell me what it was” He never lied so badly in his entire life, but knowing Y/n was probably miserable was distracting him.

She found it suspect but didn’t do anything, it was better ti ignore it “How lovely, come in and have lunch with us, Y/n and Lucius will be thrilled to see you” Mrs. Malfoy suggested, probably trying to maintain friendly due to her relationship with the Black family.

Y/n really will, he thought.

When Y/n saw Sirius she felt hope rise in her chest for the first time since beginning of the break, she ran and hugged him tightly, the hug felt warn and safe, she didn’t want to ever let go. But she had to, the action was inappropriate. “Sirius!!! What are you doing here, what a lovely visit” she said winking at him, trying to hold composure but failing.

“Sirius” Lucius greeted him too cordially “Came to visit my fiancé?” He asked with a smug look on his face.

“Not yet, darling” Y/n retorted with a fake smile

Sirius sat next to her at the big table, the room was dark and big, the table was made of hardwood the only light sources were the sun and a weak candelabra, the room had a giant fireplace that was probably the only warm place in the house and heavy curtains. When Lucius and Mrs. Malfoy were distracted, Sirius whispered to Y/n “Say you have to go to the bathroom, James’ waiting for you outside, he probably already has your Trunk”.

His word startled Y/n, that was a dream come true, but she couldn’t “Sirius, I can’t leave, my parents would kill me” she paused to check if no one was listening “If I run it would create a conflict between my parents and the Malfoys and I don’t want to be caught in the middle of it.” She said pretending to pay attention on Lucius’ commentaries “I’m going to stay here” she continued, shocking Sirius completely.

“But your parents want you to get married Y/n, are you just going to- marry Malfoy and the rest of your life with him?” she looked tense, knowing she’d have no choice, he hated seeing her like that.

Suddenly she heard Sirius clear his throat loudly, scaring her “I’m sorry to interrupt, but I need to talk with Y/n” he paused, the Malfoys were now looking at him “In private, if you allow us- it’s urgent” Mrs Malfoy looked a little confused but nodded. Sirius took Elena out of the room almost immediately.

“Y/n why in the name of Merlin are you staying here?”

“I can’t go Sirius, I told you, the Malfoys wouldn’t be happy, it could cause a conflict my parents want to avoid” Sirius didn’t look convinced, he knew she was just making excuses but he didn’t know why.

“Really? Isn’t you’re family the most powerful in the sacred-twenty-eight?” He commented mockingly “Why would they be scared of the Malfoys?” Sirius could see the fear in her eyes, she wanted to go but was scared, so he sat her down on a coach near and asked her with those protective grey eyes that made her feel so protected “Y/n, it’s alright you can tell me anything” he said covering her hands in his protectively.

“No, i-i i can’t tell you” He squeezed her hands reassuringly saying that no one would know if she told him. She took a deep breath, e/c eyes staring at his grey ones “If i run, my parents, will kill me” she said eyes now full of fear, it made them look darker.

“Theoretically, right?” He asked concerned, knowing deep down what kind of family the Watsons were, he was surprised with his shock, cursing himself for the stupid question.

“No Sirius!” She whispered shouted “They’ll actually kill me, you want to know how I ended up here at the Malfoys after I told them I didn’t want to come? Do you?” She looked at him waiting for an answer, he nodded “They used two of the three unforgivable curses on me, every day until I agreed to come and marry Lucius” her voice was cracking “They used Imperio, made me not move and then used Cruciatus, I was feeling so much pain that I thought I was going to die and worse, I couldn't move a toe, I couldn’t even try to ease my pain by screaming and moving because i was under their control.” His eyes were now burning with anger “To get me to come here they used Imperio again and I don’t them to use it ever again, I lost all my free will, so what choice do I have?” Her voice was cracking, fighting the urge to cry, only the mere thought of what had happed scared her. “They’d rather see me dead than seeing me go rogue and ruin the family name” she paused, taking a breath and continued, desperation written all over her face “Why do you think i’ve always been pureblood propaganda for my parents? The gracious perfect daughter, perfect sister, the perfect student? because if I did what you do” she gestured at him “They’d kill me” She finished, looking at him, eyes begging for help, face trying miserably to hide her emotions. Sirius was scared, not even his parents had ever done something of the sort and they creative punishers. So he wrapped her in his arms not wanting to ever let her go, wanting to protect every strand of hair in her head. She melted into his embrace, all of the fear and agony being soothed.

“Oh Merlin Y/n, i’m so sorry” Sirius almost cried when she hugged him back tightly, looking for safety in his arms, the arms she knew so well. After a few moments Sirius said abruptly “Marry me Y/n” he felt her body stiffen “Please, I know you can handle this on your own, but I don’t want you to” he paused, caressing her hair “Please marry me, the Black name should be enough for your parents to accept the union, just let me take care of you, please”

For the first time, Y/n didn’t protest, she just nodded and buried her head on his chest, she knew this plan was reckless and would make her parents angry, but she couldn’t control herself, it was like her body couldn’t take the pain anymore. “Y/n, go find James, he’s outside. I’ll talk with Malfoy, please just go, ok?” He kissed her forehead, as she stood up and went to find James.

Sirius went back to the dining room and explained that Y/n had to go home, because she would refuse Lucius’ proposal. The Malfoys were startled and outraged, she didn’t even have the guts to tell them herself? She had to bring another boy? It was all a waste of time and i’d be a disgrace for the Malfoy name if someone found out their son were rejected by a Watson, but surprisingly Sirius managed to convince them, no one created excuses as good as him. Surprisingly the Malfoys didn’t try to stop him, it was a miracle, even though they couldn’t do anything since Y/n wasn’t their daughter and it’d make a scene that could ruin their reputation, that wouldn’t last long though, they needed to run, because they would certainly contact Y/n’s parents to give a piece of their minds, it was a deal after all, they didn’t understand what happened.

“Well then Mr. Black, we hope everything’s turns out to be fine” Mrs. Malfoy politely sneered with a wave of goodbye.

“Eh-hm Thank you Mrs. Malfoy, we’re sorry for the inconvenience” Sirius said a bit nervous, leaving the room as quickly as he could.

While Sirius was talking with the Malfoys, Y/n was running to the front gate where James was waiting for her. “Y/n/n!” He shouted as he saw her running his way, when she arrived he wrapped her in a bear hug lifting her off the ground. “I’m so glad you’re okay” he said warmly, form this day on, feeling her fear as she hugged him back James considered her his sister and she considered him her brother, since he protected her, risked a rescue when she needed the most, that meant the world.

“I’m glad to see you too Prongs” she chuckled lightly at his protective brother hug.

“Here” he said pointing to his broomstick “We’re going together, to my house, when Sirius arrive” she nodded climbing up the broom behind him.

James and Y/n were already waiting, ready to leave, when Sirius showed up getting on his broom saying “Let’s go, let’s go before they warn your parents” and taking off, James following right after. Riding their brooms fast against the cold winter air, happy that their mental plan had worked. When the trio arrived at the Potters, James’ mom was in the garden, certainly not expecting her son and his friend to arrive with a h/c girl with e/c eyes stained with tears.

“James, care to explain?” His mother asked unable to hide her surprise, but going to help the girl and try to calm her down “Let’s go inside, i’ll make you some tea sweetie and you two will explain me what happened” she said looking at the boys.

So, once inside, the boys explained what Y/n was going through and how she was being tortured and forced to marry Malfoy. Euphemia, was disgusted with Y/n’s parents, she had heard of their reputations before but this was cruel. During the whole explanation Y/n was quiet, riding out of her shock, they guessed, until she spoke and everyone went silent “I need to to my house” she said so low it was almost inaudible, they were sure they had heard it wrong but then she said it louder this time “I need to go home before things get worse” the room went silent.

“You’re not going back there Y/n” Sirius was the first to talk, desperation in his voice.

“They’ll kill me if I don’t go back”

“There, One more reason, it’s not safe” James added, but she insisted.

Sirius stopped, looking at her “Ok then, I’m going with you, after I pay mommy dear a visit. Can you wait only until that? i’ll be as quick as possible”

“Yeah Y/n wait a little and calm down, you can stay here until he comes back” James said patting her shoulder gently.

“No, I don’t want to bother your parents, I’m fine” she said shyly, earning a shrug from Mrs. Potter “-and I-i don’t know how long it’ll take until my parents find out i left the Malfoys, it’s too risky”

“Dear, calm down, there’s no problem in you staying here, I promise, wait for Sirius, he’ll be there for you, your parents are not going to hurt you. If your plan doesn’t work then you can stay here with us, just rest for a bit” Euphemia said with a motherly smile on her face.

“But Sirius don’t you think your parents will be warned too?” Y/n tried to protest but James’ mom was already showing her to her room.

Y/n was so tired from the restless nights at the Malfoys, from the fear she constantly felt that Lucius would do something to her and from her parents, that when Euphemia offered the guest room and put her there, she drifted to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Sirius caressed her hair and laid beside for a minute to make sure she was alright after the turbulent events from the break.

While she slept he told James about his plan to marry her, He was a Black, her parents would certainly be pleased with the union if the anger from the Malfoy incident passed and his parents would never refuse to wed him with a Watson, it’d be like refusing royalty, maybe it’d be difficult to explain the latest incident but anyway it was the offer of a lifetime. “Wow, Sirius are you sure? I mean, I want to save Y/n too, but- this, are you sure? This whole marriage thing is mental” James gasped.

“Her parents won’t let her stay here, they’ll try to get her back and make her marry someone else, since we humiliated Lucius, they won’t stop, I know how these people get” Sirius stated “But if I go to my parents and convince them to ask her hand to the Watsons, since she’s not officially betrothed to anyone yet, not only they’ll be thrilled but they’ll also do anything to convince her parents. And my parents would Betroth me one day too so this is just the best option for both of us” James couldn’t argue, it was a good plan in the rough.

“So you’re getting married, that’s serious” James teased “Our dear friend Y/n/n will be future Mrs. Black” he laughed hard at Sirius’ blushed face. “Oh Merlin!” He pointed a finger to Sirius “You like her! You- fancy Y/n, Merlin” James was so excited “It all makes sense, this friends with benefits thing would never work and that’s why you’re so relaxed about marrying her, because you fancy Y/N/N, Merlin!”

“No I don’t, shove off Prongs, you’re hallucinating, we’re friends” The blush on his face wasn’t ignored by James, who laughed harder “Now, i need to go home and convince mommy Black to talk to the Watsons” Sirius cut James off, leaving the room heading to the hell he called home.

“Whatever you say Pads” James yelled from the kitchen.

Summary: Sirius and Y/N meet at a family dinner and have some fun, later she finds out she is betrothed to some pureblood boy so Sirius comes up with a mental idea to save them both.

The exams were now over, Y/N and Lily were at the Great Hall eating breakfast, the smell of bacon and fruits invading their noses, they could enjoy the morning Saturday sun and the pancakes without worrying about the exams.

“What did you think about the Potions test? I can’t stop thinking about that last question I think got it wrong” Lily mumbled while picking up an apple.

“Oh Lils, you are so cute” Y/N laughed at her friend’s worries. “I can’t remember, but we can go to library today and check, but I’m sure you got it right, Slughorn has his reasons for inventing you for his little club” Y/N/N pointed out and Lily nodded, while looking at her sister who was staring suspiciously at her “At least you got in for pure talent, not because he wanted to suck up to your father” she chuckled, trying to avoid her sister’s gaze.

“That’s a lie, you’re one of the best Potions student Y/N/N i’m sure you-” Lily was cut off by Diana standing by her sister’s side.

“Got your mail yet Y/N/N? I’m so delighted for you, when Mother and Father told me I started planning the party already, Slytherin common room Sunday 8 p.m, also if you need help getting your hair done you can ask me.” Y/N was scared, her sister was never this nice to her, something was going on.

“Why Sunday?” But she was interrupted.

As if Diana knew when the letter would arrive, an Elegant snowy owl showed up carrying a letter from her parents. “What’s that” she was now genuinely scared as she saw Lucius looking at her from the Slytherin table. Lily who has calmed her down on several sleepless nights after the Malfoy incident looked between the two girl worried, connecting the dots about the letter’s content, as her friend read the letter and stormed out of the Hall. Lily tried to follow her but she just vanished. She looked for Y/N everywhere but she seemed to be nowhere to be found, she was feeling scared and even desperate, what could’ve made Y/N so upset, her family of course, but what did they do?

Y/N was in the only place in the castle Lily didn’t look for, the Hufflepuff common room, her friend Amos Diggory, a handsome boy, who would was loyal and would do anything for his friends, let her in and stay in his room, since it was Saturday and everyone was outside. She laid in his bed, heart racing threatening to jump off her chest, she felt sick and completely and utterly alone and unloved, she felt stuck in a life she never asked for and an inevitable future, this feeling of despair was too much for her to hold, like she would always do. Y/N buried her faced in Amos’ pillow and cries the life out of her, she couldn’t believe and in the same time she always knew this would happen, but it didn’t make it all less painful.

“Hi” Amos knocked on the room’s door delicately earning a jump from the girl. “I’m sorry, but you seem like someone who desperately needs a friend” he said with a sympathetic smile.

She smiled warmly at the boy and let him sit by her side, he offered her his shoulder to cry on, soothing the girl, even though he didn’t know why she was so sad. Eventually she told him everything and he was as disgusted as she was, his heart ached for his friend, he couldn’t imagine what was like to have her parents and go through what she was. He could only help.

“You should go tell your friends, they never leave your side, they’ll probably want to know about this, you should trust them Y/N/N” he suggested with a reassuring smile, wrapping her in a hug. Y/N loved that on Amos, he was so sweet and helpful and never asked for anything in return, he was a true Hufflepuff, she always teased him.

“But I don’t want them to worry, it’s not really easy for me to trust people and it’s nothing really, I don’t want to be dramatic” she sighed looking troubled.

“Y/N/N, i can assure you, you’re not being dramatic” he paused looking at her with a concerned smile “You have all the right to be upset, i’d be too in your situation, i’d demand justice for me and the other person too, it’s not fair, but you should tell your friends, they must be really worried”

“You’re right badger, thank you for letting me stay here, if you ever need something you know where to find me” she mumbled quietly still trying to hold her tears desperately.

It was nighttime by the time she was heading to the Gryffindor tower. The marauders were at the empty Gryffindor common room, they had just finished packing and were siting by the fireplace talking, Lily looking worried whispering to herself places she might’ve forgotten to search, when y/n entered the room the girl stood up fast and wrapped her in the tightest hug she could give only letting her friend go after her arms became sore, y/n mumbled a thank you hugging Lily again and then gave Sirius a kiss on the cheek and laid on his chest, she was looking completely broken, that made the boys get concerned too.

“Hey guys” she said with voice of someone who has been crying. Sirius started caressing her hair, the group was now completely quiet until.

“Y/n-” Remus Lupin said softly “What’s wrong? Have you been crying?” His question made everyone look at her and she shifted in her Sirius lap a bit, his hands still caressing her hair patiently waiting for her answer, Lily was sitting next to them in the sofa, she grabbed her friend’s hand reassuringly.

“I got this letter from my parents today- at breakfast” she said, her voice completely numb she sounded like someone who had abandoned all hope. She then took a letter with a fancy wax seal with an “W” from her coat, she couldn’t say it so she handed it to Sirius. The seal was already broken from when she read it earlier and the parchment had stains that suggested crying, he started reading the letter, Lily peaking too, while the other boys were curious and he’s blood was boiling with anger.

He stood up abruptly and screamed “No way they're making you do this- Over my dead body, Y/n”. Sirius’ reaction startled the boys, but he was so angry he didn’t even notice James taking the letter and reading it aloud.

Dear Y/n,

Your father and i are delighted to inform you that after a few meetings with family friends, we have decided, together with the Malfoys, that you and their son, Lucius, are now engaged and the marriage will happen soon after your graduation.

Lucius has already talked with his parents and he is more than happy for taking your hand in matrimony if you accept him, in our meeting with Abraxas Malfoy this evening, he has told us how Lucius cares about and wants to protect you. Therefore we were shocked to hear that you’ve been spending many nights in the Gryffindor tower and been ignoring your fellow housemates including Lucius.

In light of theses events we’ve decided that you will be spending Christmas break in the Malfoy manor, so you and Lucius can seal each other’s promise contract and get used to each other and future married life.

Now Y/n, you are going to listen very carefully what i’m going to tell you, young lady, you are going to behave AND accept this proposal, the Malfoys are a very respectful pureblood family, they were extremely delighted to know about your interest in their son. The Watson name carries weight in our world, I don’t want you doing anything that could compromise that. Now you are going to sleep every night of the rest of your years at Hogwarts in the Slytherin dorms, we already talked with Lucius and he is going to stay with you the whole night if necessary.

“Holy shit y/n/n” James gasped “I’m so sorry, I can’t believe your parents would do that” he paused pondering if he should joke or not, and figured it could help “but is that their way of making you shag Malfoy?, Godric they’ don’t even try to be subtle” y/n chuckled humourlessly.

“Really? because I do, that’s what all these crazy purists families do, they breed their children, they don’t care about love or anything of the sort, I can’t believe how much time I spent putting up with their shit, pretending to agree with them” she hissed starting to sound more angry, she couldn’t believe it herself she just couldn't admit.

“Y/n we won’t let that happen” Remus reassured her grabbing other her hand “we’ll do anything to help you” all the boys and Lily agreed, except for Sirius that was on a weird kind of angry trance. Lily jumped from her seat and hugged her best friend with all the love she could give again.

She was happy to see her friends helping her, she didn’t feel as alone as she felt this morning, but still, reality was rough, she’d have to marry that prick Lucius Malfoy that she and the Marauders hated so much, he was a real blood purist just like their parents and that made her feel suffocated.

Suddenly Sirius burst out of his trance and went to his dorm, which scared the remaining group on the common room, making Y/n follow him. The common room went silent. After she left they sighed “I can’t believe she’s having to go through that, she doesn’t deserve it, this year she’s been nothing but a good friend, she even helped you study Moony and she became your best friend Lily, we all know you talk about us when you’re alone” James sighed “I wish we could do something for her”.

“Yes, we sure do Potter” Lily shrugged a bit absentmindedly, wondering what was happening in the other room.

“Siri, what’s going on with you?” She asked a bit startled by his sudden weirdness, while standing in the threshold. He was searching for something frenetically in his trunk. “What are you searching for Sirius?”

“Y/n/n- Y/n” he turned to her seriously “there’s no way i’m letting you marry Malfoy” he stared so deep into her eyes that she felt a shiver run down her spine.

“Thanks you Sirius, I love you for that, but there's nothing me or you can do to help, believe me i’ve been trying to find a way out since i read that letter, but there isn’t” she sighed her voice cracking “All I can do is enjoy the little time i’ve left before i’m Mrs. Malfoy” she ran her hand in her face and looked at Sirius “But I appreciate your efforts” Sirius made his way to where she was and caressed her cheeks looking at her with a determination Y/n couldn’t understand.

“I’m going to do everything i can to help you- even if I’ll have ask my monster of a mother for help” he revealed.

“What?” She gasped, surprised and confused at his revelation to say the least.

“I hate to say it out loud but- I’m still a Black, from the Noble house of Black” He paused and Y/n began to catch up with his plan, still a little shocked “I bet it’ll be easy to convince my mom, if i Sirius Black, her hopeless case of a son, tell her he wants to marry Elena Watson the daughter of the Royal house of Watson, she would finally be at least pleased with me”

“WHAT?! No way Sirius, no- no! absolutely not” she almost choked on her words, shock written all over her face. “I’m not letting you ruin your life for me! No way! Do you even know what you’d be doing? You’d be committing yourself for the rest of your life and you know your parents AND mine wouldn’t let us divorce till the day they die at least! There is no going back and they certainly won’t let us escape, never” She was not going to let him ruin his life too.

“I know that perfectly well, but would it be that bad? we’re best friends and it’s not like we never slept together before” Y/n was in shock, left without words, Sirius Black wanting to commit with someone, he truly was a good friend but she looked at him with a gaze that said ‘no’ “Y/n… if you don’t accept this, then i’ll help you escape” he grabbed her hand and held it tightly in his chest, for a moment he wondered what about it made him feel so angry, angrier than the other boys, he felt this urge to protect her so much it almost hurt “I- just- i can’t stand seeing you suffering from this and being forced to sleep in the same bed as Malfoy- it makes me so angry, i want to protect you- I promised I would protect you, you’ve became one of my best friends this year I can’t let you go through this” he was looking at her with desperate eyes, almost imploring her to let him help her, it made Y/n’s heart jump from her chest.

“I don’t know what to do Sirius” her eyes were filling up with tears again, she was trying hard not to cry, as a wave of courage hit her and made her stop, she needed to grow up. “But I can’t escape my home, my parents would find me and probably-” she paused reconsidering if telling Sirius about her parents’ ways of parenting was a good idea, remembering Amos’ words, but even though she decided against it, she didn’t want him to worry more then he already was “I’m going to be okay, everything’s going to be fine. I’m going home and i’ll tell my parents that i won’t oblige, that I won’t be a pawn on their sick game of blood purity” she finished, more determined than she had been during the day, knowing that it’d be a foolish mistake, but it was confrontation or marriage.

“Are you sure Y/n? You want me to go with you?” He asked concerned, not feeling confident in her idea, it seemed dangerous and reckless, normally he’d love a little danger, but the fact that she could get hurt made him opposed to it.

“Yes, you don’t need to come with me, I think its better if I go alone, my parents can get- irritated. I’ll send you letters and i’ll keep you updated i promise” with that she kissed his cheek.

“Y/n/n are you really sure? I don’t think it’s- I don’t know your parents but I know mine and they wouldn’t react really well if I confronted them that way” Y/n knew what Sirius meant, but she had to try, so she whispered a yes burying her head in his neck as he wrapped her in a tight hug.

They both returned to the common room, updating their friends about what had happened and then they tried to have a pleasant last day at Hogwarts, the boys reassured Y/n even more and promised they’d be there for her if she ever needs them. The rest of the day they tried to forget all of their problems and talked, James kept trying to invite Lily out and she kept saying no while everyone laughed at the boy, Y/n laid in Sirius’s chest enjoying this little interactions while she still could. Sirius’ plan never left the back of his mind, he wasn’t sure if she’d be able to convince the Watsons, they didn’t strike him as understanding people. Little did he know how right he was.

The next day went by fast, everyone finished packing and met at the train station. The group left the Hogwarts Express and entered platform 9 3/4 everyone said their goodbyes, hugging and wishing Y/n worried good lucks, then heading to their respective families.

“I wish you could meet my family, Y/n/n, expect my sister, she’d be mean to you” Lily pouted as Y/n hugged her tightly for the last time in two weeks. “I’m gonna write you ok? with the names we planned” the both best friends chuckled, they had created nicknames so Y/n’s parents wouldn’t suspect about Lily.

“Oh Lils thank you, I’m gonna miss you so much, wish you could visit me” Y/n whispered sadly leaving Lily’s embrace after she said she would miss her too, heading to Sirius.

“Hey beautiful” Sirius murmured while wrapping her in a hug and lifting her making her laugh. “Wanna meet mommy and daddy Black, they’ll love you?”

“Of course” she chuckled in his lap, being so close to him made her heart jump faster, she didn’t want to let go, never “And of course they will, how could they not like me” she joked.

Sirius put her in the ground slowly, heart jumping too, grabbed her wrist and the two of them walked to where his parents and brother were waiting, he hated his parents but he wanted an excuse to spend more time with her. “Mother, Father, this is Y/n Watson” he mocked his parents, who were clearly shocked their son had perhaps grown some sense into his head.

“Miss Watson, what a pleasure to see you again, darling, how are your parents doing?” Mr. and Mrs. Black asked politely. Walburga was a tall raven haired woman with an elegant appearance and stern face, she was quite scary, Mr. Black looked just like his wife but older and more serious.

“Suck ups” Sirius whispered in her ears making her giggle, she could feel his breath against her ear and it made her shiver.

“They’re alright, thank you Mr. Black, how are you?” Y/n asked, looking so much like her mother that it scared Sirius, he had to hide his laugh.

Before Mr. Black answered, Mr. and Mrs. Watson showed up, with angry faces. Mrs. Watson grabbed Y/n’s wrist strongly making her wince, pushing her to their side.

“Walburga, Orion, what a pleasure to see you” Mr. Watson offered his hand to the couple, softening his face a little, Mrs. Watson smiled, while whispering.

“Y/n, where is Lucius? Haven’t you been seeing him? You should be here with him young lady” her mother hissed at her, angry with the lack of effort from her daughter to make the marriage happen.

Sirius looked at Y/n’s wrist and suspected, he felt angry at Mrs. Watson, something was wrong, but he couldn’t do anything in front of their parents, so he just looked reassuringly at her.

“Pleasure to see you too Charles, we hope to see you and Louise at the Rosiers later this week” Mrs. Black politely suggested.

“Of course” with that the Watsons said goodbye and the both families headed their separate ways, breaking Sirius’ and Y/n’s grasp on each other.

When September first finally came Y/N was thrilled, she couldn't handle a single more day at that Hell she calls home, but that didn’t matter anymore ‘cause she was going her to her real home. She was excited to see her friends again, and Sirius too? No she couldn’t miss him, it was a one night thing, and most importantly Sirius Black wasn’t one of falling for someone. He had slept with half of Hogwarts by now, but there was something about him that made Y/N feel butterflies on her stomach when she saw him.

Now, on the train, looking for a place to sit, after she talked with her friends that were in other full cabinets, she saw a familiar face, Sirius’, so she went talk to him, she was nervous because his friends on there too, but she had to go, it wasn’t like her sister would be happy to share her cabinet.

“Hey” she said making the boys’ attention drift to her “Hm, could i maybe sit here with you guys? everywhere else is full, sorry” she said timidly.

“Sure Y/N, sit” Remus answered sweetly patting the sit next to his. He was the only marauder that Elena had talked with before, besides Sirius, given the events from summer break, she liked him, he was sweet, helped her in class when she needed and unlike his friends, was quiet and seemed to avoid trouble. Remus being as observant as he was didn’t miss Sirius’ and Y/N’s glances at one another during the ride and the tension between them, even though Sirius looked more relaxed then her, something had definitely happened.

The ride was fine, Y/N met the other marauders, they talked and laughed. They asked about her friends and about her house, at first they were taken aback about her being a Slytherin but soon brushed it off, Sirius found out her brother was friends with his brother, which he thought was really weird.

“But how did they meet?” Sirius looked confused and quite amused “Isn’t your brother like 5 years older than us?”

“Apparently at an internship in the ministry, your brother worked for mine and they seemed to like each other” she laughed a bit “weird isn’t it?” Sirius chuckled a ‘isn’t it’ as he started making fun of his little brother

“Young ambitious Regulus, trying to impress the big guys, and he’s only in fourth year”

As the mountains outside started showing and the clouds covered the sky, they knew they were soon arriving at the castle.

“And then my brother looked at me and… BOOM he lift me, hung me up in his shoulders and starts heading to the my father” Everyone laughs “A-And” she couldn’t stop laughing “-so i grabbed his arse and he accidentally threw me in the pool. That was the first time I saw my brother laughing in years, for a change” James was the most amused one with the story.

“Wait, wait” he couldn’t hold his laughter “You’re telling me you grabbed the old Slytherin cocky head boy, your brother’s, ass? And that he threw you in the pool, that’s on my new to-do list, but the pool will have to be replaced by the Black Lake, you Watson, are a genius” Y/N didn’t remember the last time she had that much fun with her friends, it was a good feeling being there with the boys, she wasn’t her usual shy self and she liked that.

Sirius felt something weird in the pit of his stomach when he heard her laugh, he didn’t know exactly what is was. They had a lot of fun, the boys liked Y/N, at first they thought she was a bit snobby but then realised she was pretty nice when she played along with James’ jokes and teasing.

When they could already see Hogwarts in the horizon, Y/N’s friends Elizabeth Greengrass and Katherine Abbott two tall blonde girls showed up, already on their Slytherin robes. “Come on Elena stop fooling around and let's go, we cleaned up our cabinet, now there is a free space for you” Elena looked at them a bit confused.

“What do you mean you cleaned?” She asked.

“Oh” her friends laughed “we sent that mudblood friend of yours Carla is it? to a Hufflepuff cabinet” The boys and Y/N looked at them in shock as she got flustered by her friends’ words.

“Oh my god?! Look, guys i’m sorry” she said apologetically, turning to the marauders “I have to go, but thank you, i enjoyed spending time with you” She said as she stood up to leave, when she left they could hear her scolding the two girls, before their voices faded away.

After she left, Remus took his opportunity and asked “What was that Padfoot?” Sirius frowned at him, so he continued “Y/N, you two kept glancing at each other when the other wasn’t looking. Please don’t do that to her she’s my partner in DADA and a nice person” he looked concerned.

“Oh, that was nothing” this time remus was the one who frowned, as James and Peter, as observant as rocks listened to the conversation with curiosity, “Relax Moony, we met over summer break at a party at her house, nothing much, you know me” Remus frowned again and Sirius sighted “We ran away from the party and explored the house, that’s it” making Remus run his hands over his face.

“You’re hopeless”

James laughed hard, clearly thinking his friend’s explanations hilarious “Padfoot we know you don't explore houses without ulterior motives, what’s up with you? Usually you don’t try to hide your one night stands from us” He knew Sirius better than anyone else. “But by the way Pads, she’s hot, nice and all, but isn’t she like, a blood purist like your parents?”

“No” he gasped “She’s not” he lowered his voice “she’s not like them and well you know, she couldn’t resist my looks”

“Ok, ok, sorry Pads I didn’t mean to insult your girlfriend, I like her, since she’s not a snobby purist” Sirius hit his shoulder and the boys laughed and continued talking until they arrived at Hogwarts. Remus’s suspicions growing at friend’s weird behaviour toward the girl, when he saw Sirius staring at her talking with her friends while getting on the carriage heading to Hogwarts and later on the great hall he stared continuously at the Y/H/C girl’s Y/E/C eyes sitting on the Slytherin table he despised so much, but something about her made him despise it a bit less.

“Quit the staring mate, it’s creepy” James pointed out as his friends brushed him off, continuing to eat his turkey.

Looking up from his plate Remus continues “He just can’t help it Prongs, he thinks he’s brother is quite good looking”

“Oh yeah his Y/H/C feminine brother, you’re it’s just brotherly affection” Peter entered the teasing now.

“Oh shove it” Sirius mumbled hitting James.

In all the teasing the boys didn’t realise Y/N reattributing Sirius’ glances despite her friends’ scowls.

That week on her way to potions class, the Marauders approached Y/N, Sirius slipping an arm around her shoulders smugly.

“Hello beautiful, Potions too?” Sirius greeted her with a smirk on his face while James slipped his arm on her other shoulder, Remus and Peter stayed a bit back shyly waving.

“Yeah Y/N/N, how are you?” James asked teasingly, surprising Y/N.

She chuckled at the boys “What do you guys want?” James and Sirius put their hands in their chests dramatically.

“Rude. We were just asking” Sirius laughed.

“Ignore them Y/N, you’re free to go” Remus intervened sweetly taking his friends’ arms off the girl.

During the next few months they’d have talks in the corridor, eventually, during classes they shared together and Y/N helped them study, or tried to at least. She was surprised that the marauders started paying so much attention to her, since they never had before, she thought her night with Sirius wouldn’t change anything, but clearly that was wrong. They grew closer, she started helping them in their pranks and the boys loved her, she could handle with all of them, Sirius’ flirting, James’ jokes, Peter’s weirdness and Remus, well he was easy to deal with, the others weren’t but she liked them anyway.

They later started to sneak her into the Gryffindor common room, they’d have talks about future pranks or just about their days and ideas. She even became friends with a few Gryffindor girls including a certain red head James had a huge crush on, Lily and Y/N bonded immediately, the girls shared a lot of interests, they understood each other perfectly, it was a friendship for life. James obviously always tried to persuade Y/N into getting a date, but she always gave him the same answer as Lily, no.

As Y/N’s Slytherin friends started to realise she was distancing herself from them and growing closer to the Marauders and Lily, they tried to talk her out, which made Y/N furious. However she couldn't just argue with them, it would be a matter of time until her sister realised, Diana usually kept her nose so high she didn’t even see who her sister walked with, she didn’t actually care, unless it involved her, but she wasn’t blind and would definitely tell to their mother. It’s not that she didn’t like her friends, she did, they were nice to her, but you couldn’t say the same for others, they still hated muggleborns, it was wrong to judge someone for their status, Y/N knew that, but even though she was conflicted between what was right and what her family wanted, she was scared of them and what they could do.

“You barely spend your time with us anymore!” Katherine stormed at Y/N “Only at night in our dorm room or when, and that’s rare now, you’re in the common room” she was angry and didn’t understand her friend’s liking for those pricks.

“Or in the classes we don’t share with Gryffindor” Elizabeth added “We miss you Y/N/N, Elijah does too” her face softened.

“I miss you guys too Betty” the words escaped Y/N’s mouth even not knowing if they were true. Nevertheless Y/N wasn’t planning on getting any closer to the girls, her solution to her doubts: just ignoring them.

In fact, after that conversation Y/N started spending more time with the Gryffindors, even sleeping there with them on the red couches by the fireplace after a long day or just talking for so long they would fall asleep accidentally, she and Sirius sometimes would end up cuddling subconsciously in their sleep, Remus would always notice when they woke up a little shocked but then just act like it didn’t happen after Sirius making a flirty comment, since the both friends had agreed to ignore the night they shared at her house, but secretly wishing it’d happen again, but they didn’t, it was just friendship right? but Remus and James saw right through their agreement, James teasing them endlessly.

“Padfoot do you take Y/N/N as your beloved wife” James sang grabbing both his friends’ arms.

“I do Prongs” Sirius joked.

“Brothers and Sisters, does anyone here has anything to say? It’s now or never” James continued.

“You’re such an arse James, why don’t you go look for Lily, so i can marry you with her too” Y/N hissed, laughing at the end.

“I’d love to” James accepted

“Good try” she leaves his grip, strong nails never fail.

She’d never admit but she loved their jokes, teasing and dumb comments, that are actually very smart, they are so funny and make her feel so happy. They were becoming her best friends and gaining her trust, which isn’t easy, as she was gaining their’s. It was a feeling she never had before, like a family she never had, the random talks at night, the real trust, and care, made her feel loved in a way she wasn’t at home.

They were becoming real friends while Y/N’s friends kept drifting away from her, they thought that the Marauders were irresponsible gits who just wanted attention, and would only talk to Y/N when she was alone on classes they didn’t share with Gryffindor or on the Slytherin common room. But honestly Y/N couldn’t care less, the Marauders and Lily had become her true family.

One day at a Gryffindor party, some Slytherins crashed and Lucius Malfoy cornered Y/N and Sirius saw what looked like a heated conversation, Malfoy seemed to be raging with anger and Y/N was almost crying, Sirius’ blood was boiling, what the hell was Malfoy doing with his girl, He had enough of seeing his friend suffer and shoved Malfoy away.

“Are you okay, Y/N?” Sirius asked concerned, as he held her arms, that was it for her, she started crying and he wrapped her in his arms whispering sweet nothings in her ear “Hey, hey everything’s fine love, what’s wrong, what did Malfoy do?” He asked rubbing her back lightly.

“He.. He… He was trying to bring me back to the Slytherin dorm, saying that i needed to stop my ‘rebellious phase’ and go back to being a ‘good girl’ and to stop hanging out with you guys” she said sobbing against his shoulders.

“Hey Y/N, Malfoy’s an arse, you don’t need to listen to him, he won’t take you anywhere, not under my watch” he paused and smirked at her “You know, I pretty much prefer when you’re biting my shoulder rather than to see you crying on it because of that bloke” He smiled as an attempt to lighten up the mood and even made her chuckle a little.

“But that’s not it” she started sobbing again “H-he said that i’ll have to oblige sooner or later, b-because” she stopped, crying harder and Sirius tightened his grip around her “He said my parents are going to send me a letter explaining everything, Sirius and-and i-i’m scared”.

Lily, who had seen Sirius shoving Malfoy away, ran in her best friend’s direction and wrapped Y/N in another bear hug.

Sirius had never seen her like this, and he hated it, but it made him like and trust her even more. From this day on, he knew, he promised himself that he would always protect her if she ever needed him to, he wouldn’t let anyone hurt one of his best friends.

That night the Marauders spent the night in the common room talking until they all fell asleep, that night she felt loved by the group she now called family, it was a nice feeling.
