Gosh I'm so disappointed. What on earth was this? So much disrespect for Ncuti Gatwa and their character, for real.

I don't have anything against Billie Piper, like almost all, I liked her character for the time she was in it...but that was it.

Ncuti Gatwa deserved more than 16 miserable episodes, and they deserved more than be replaced in such a disappointing way.

It's the same that happened with Jodie Whittaker and David Tennant.

I just hate showrunners 😤

Read the fuckin' interview, god. Ryan literally said he refused to play Eddie as violent, wanting to hit Buck. So he made him softer and more hurt, fragile and broken—not angry—and that is the canon scene.

In the same interview, Oliver says there’s a high level of trust, so he went on without issues. He wasn’t scared or uncomfortable—don’t make it a problem when it isn’t one. Ryan didn’t want to hit him, and the scene you see is exactly how it was meant to be: not abusive, as some have imagined. The way Eddie points at Buck and grabs him is totally in character—it’s how he makes himself heard. You can see it for yourselves:

If you're projecting a fantasy of Eddie being violent or abusive just to make Buck a helpless victim, that's your issue—not what’s actually on screen. Ryan explicitly didn’t want Eddie portrayed that way, and Oliver wasn’t worried or uncomfortable at all. Twisting that emotionally raw, powerful scene—where a main character finally breaks down and speaks his truth to the person he trusts most—into something sinister just to hate on Eddie or discredit Buddie fans is disturbing. That scene was agonizing and full of pathos, not abuse.
