NyQuil
Villain watched Hero sprawled across the couch, half his face buried in the cushions, papers strewn everywhere. He was out of it, exhausted, maybe from the overtime at the Hero Agency, maybe from the extra patrols.
Maybe from the Nyquil Villain had slipped into Hero's drink a couple minutes ago.
Probably the overtime.
Hero's eyes fluttered over slightly as Villain brushed some of the papers carelessly onto the floor. He grabbed at them aimlessly for a moment before his limbs simply gave up. Villain sat by his head, brushing away the strands that had fallen in his lover's face.
Hero's eyes threatened to close any moment now. "Again?" He managed to slur out.
Villain smiled. "You need to sleep, love. Those papers aren't due tomorrow."
"I got a shift in a couple hours."
"It also seems that the Agency has unexpectedly closed due to maintenance issues."
Hero chuckled. "So that's why the drink tasted funky."
"Yes, that's why the drink tasted funky."
"I need to get this work done?"
"Alright then. Get up."
"There was a pause. At one point, Villain was convinced Hero had fallen asleep. Then he heard a gentle sigh. "Okay, you win."
Villain grinned. "That's what I thought."
Villain looped one hand around Hero's knees and back, knowing that any attempt to walk would result in utter failure (and probably a photo on Villain's phone).
As they made it upstairs, Villain spoke up. "You know I wouldn't go through all this effort if you would just stop overworking yourself." All he got was a hum in return. Villain rolled his eyes. He'd address it more with Hero when he was more coherent.
Just as Villain settled Hero down, preparing to leave for his own devices, Hero grabbed his wrist. "Stay?" The whisper was faint but there.
Villain smiled and crawled into the covers, pulling the almost limp Hero close. "Of course."
Constructive criticism is always appreciated! My requests are open! Have a great day/night :D

Planned right
"Oh Herooooo-" "It's not Hero anymore." The voice sounded tired, cracked, broken.  Villain paused. He had been on a business trip for 2 weeks. No communication, no news. He hadn't bothered to check the news on the way back, just endless driving back to the city where he beelined to Hero's apartment. After those couple of weeks, he felt like annoying the crap out of his favorite nemesis.  The place was dark; the only source of light shining was the peaks of sunlight bursting through the closed blinds.  It wasn't necessarily messy, but someone would definitely mistake this place for abandoned if they walked in. Villain found Hero in his office; papers were strewn everywhere. One stood out, a newspaper torn in half, the other part somewhere in the sea of paper. "Superhero found-" Villain didn't need to find the other half to understand. Superhero, the kind mentor even Villain had found respect for. Superhero, the person who didn't walk towards the cameras every time she was finishing a mission, but instead helping with damage control, who comforted kids. Superhero, who Villain had found volunteering at charities, homeless shelters, and orphanages, not in her usual hero uniform, but as a normal person, with no cameras, no fame, no videos of her actions. Villain had greatly respected her for it.  Superhero. Hero's older sister.  He explained through broken sobs. Superhero. Killed in a shooting helping injured civilians. She wasn't even on duty. Just like herself, helping those when she got caught in the crossfire between the police and the shooters. People didn't even know their beloved savior was dead until one of the other heroes identified her in the morgue during the aftermath.  "They want me to take her place. Become the new Superhero." Hero finished, tapping his fingers together, always missing the ring finger before going back around, a tactic to help panic attacks. Villain said nothing, just walked over to where Hero, now Superhero, was sitting and carefully pried the Superhero pin out of his hands.  "I'm getting inducted tomorrow. Started work that afternoon. Meetings, interviews, charity work. My calendar is already filled to the brim for the next 2 months." Superhero whispered after a moment of silence. "I don't know how she did all that." His voice cracked with every syllable.  Villain didn't respond. Not with words at least. He wasn't a very touchy person, unlike Superhero, but he tried his best. The arm around his shoulder was awkward, to say the least, but it was something.  Superhero took it anyways, leaning on Villain's shoulder. It was just the two for hours, until the morning when Superhero had to get ready for his inauguration. Superhero adjusted with time. He gave a damn good speech, which Villain totally didn't help with, right. The workload didn't get lighter; it just became easier to bear. Two months later, Villain became Supervillain, scheduled and planned, as the old Supervillain made a smooth retirement. Nothing like Superhero's sudden promotion, but still just as hard work-wise.  Even through events, meetings, fights, and interviews, they still made time for each other.
As always constructive criticism is always appreciated. Requests are open and have a great day/night! :D

In Sickness and in Health
Through the haze of fever medication and sniffles, Supervillain felt a familiar figure crawl into the blankets.
Stop, he tried to slur out. You'll get sick. But the words died in the fury of coughs that wracked his lungs.
But his husband stayed put, resting his hand against his chest. Supervillain tried to pull away, but he longed for the warm touch more than anything and found himself leaning into it against his will. He stuttered through the cotton plaguing his mind, managing a pitiful whimper so laughable coming from the same man who threatened to kill the mayor a mere couple of days ago.
"Shhhh," His husband whispered, stroking away the sweaty hair. "It's alright. I got you."
"I'll get you sick." Finally, the words came out weak and raspy, but they were coherent.
"That's alright," Superhero replied, his fingers gently rubbing the base of Supervillain's throat, right above his collarbone, letting his ice powers cool the rampant fever despite Supervillain's shivering.
The chills spread through his entire body, and despite knowing it would help the sickness, Supervillain found himself weakly fighting against it.
"I know love, I know. I'm so sorry." He felt Superhero's lips brush against his ear. "But we need the fever to go down before it gets too high."
They stayed like that, even long after Supervillain succumbed to restless sleep.
And if the Superhero got sick just as Supervillain recovered, he would roll his eyes and rest the ice pack against the nape of the Superhero's neck and hold his partner as he squirmed against the cold, knowing it was doing more good than harm. He would comfort him over and over again, knowing the Superhero would do the same in a heartbeat. Even though they were the most powerful beings in the city, they let themselves be weak and vulnerable around each other.
As always, constructive criticism is always appreciated! Have a good day/night :D

Blood Red Shirt
Part 1, Part 2
Part 3! Again I'm really worried this is confused so if anyone wants help understand I'm more than happy to explain!
Note: Supervillain's powers are the ability to manipulate and detect human emotion. I tried to portray that a lot cause well...it's his superpower. But he sees emotions as colors.
Supervillain burst through the duel doorway of Villain's lair, Henchman following suit. Villain was pacing in Medbay, his dress shirt and hands covered in blood. His head snapped up when he heard the doors almost fly off the hinges.
"Where is he." Henchman grabbed him by the shoulders, more worry than anger.
"I have Medic working on him right now- they said-" Villain replied. He was usually one of those people who never cried, never panicked, it only worsened Supervillain's fears. It was alien to see the purple fear around a usually steady man.
Henchman guided him to the closest bench. "Breathe. We need you to breathe. In. Out."
Villain did as he was told, rubbing his face with his hands, smearing the blood around. Supervillain snatched a wipe from the nearby bathroom. "Take your time. It's alright."
It took a minute, but Villain calmed down enough to speak. "I found him on his patrol. We were about to do the usual. Throw a few punches and make it seem convincing enough for the news. But he was shaking. Like, he couldn't throw a punch without falling over." He paused to take a breath. "Then he just…collapsed."
Supervillain wiped some of the blood off his cheek. "We'll take it from here. Get some rest. It's not a question." He left before Villain could protest.
[Other Hero] met him an hour later at a checkpoint. "Is he okay?" She sputtered out once he came into view. "I had no idea. I swear. I tried to watch over him, but Superhero assigned me two months on the other side of the city, and I had no time-"
"Stop." Supervillain could (quite literally) see the yellow anxiety rolling off of her in waves. She was telling the truth; he could tell that much.
"I don't blame you. You're already doing enough as it is. And I'm grateful." [Other Hero], a strong-headed woman known for her control over nature. She was Hero's best friend from the start. When she agreed to help take down the corruption, it wasn't hard to assign her to keep Hero safe.
Turns out other heroes weren't as stupid as he thought. They saw through Superhero's lies just as much as he did. He had almost a quarter of them working on taking down the officials at the Agency. But it wouldn't be enough. Not with the power the Superhero possessed, and the other Heroes were just as corrupt as the Superhero. It was an uphill battle from the start.
"I did hear from [Hero 3]." She finally spoke when Supervillain saw some of the anxiety fade. "Apparently, Superhero is trying to take Hero under his wing. Been overtraining him, and" Her voice dropped. "Trying to 'up his pain tolerance.'"
The world around Supervillain spun. It wasn't training. It was torture.
"We're running out of time." [Other Hero] continued. "If we don't get Hero on our side fast, we might lose him to Superhero's hand."
"We won't." Supervillain bit out. "Hero's oblivious, but he's not stupid. He stays that way." He turned away without another word. The meeting had lasted too long anyway. [Other Hero] gets caught with him, and the next time he sees her, she will be in a body bag at the edge of the woods.
Once he returned. Medic was waiting by the door. "He's fine for now." Supervillain breathed a sigh of relief before stopping. Medic had fear laced around him. "The bad news?" He whispered.
Medic sighed, and Supervillain noted the blood-stained latex gloves by the trash can. "He's not in great condition. Dehydrated, sleep deprived, whipped. It's a miracle he managed to throw a punch at Villain. I'm doing what I can. He'll make a full recovery, but-"Medic leaned in. "I found this during an x-ray." He held up a small, clear plastic bag with a singular tech chip. Medic looked pissed. "Superhero chipped Hero. It's got voice recording, tracking, and a kill switch. A god damn kill switch. He would've killed Hero just like that."
Supervillain took the bag, seething.
So Superhero really did have a death wish.
Hero would never know Supervillain was here. As far as Hero knew, only Villain knew about Superhero's wrongdoing. He watched Villain through the glass, still in that damn bloody shirt, gently comb his fingers through Hero's hair. He would let the two of them rest.
He still needed to fulfill the promise he made to his sons. One day, the world won't be as cruel. Starting with Superhero.
As always constructive critism is always welcome. Have a good day/night :D

Forest Green Eyes
Part 1
I ended up write a lot more than I expected and so I'm gonna split part 2 of Icy Blue eyes cause I wrote like 1000+ words. So sorry! But here is part 2, which is basically Hero and Supervillain's backstory. Part 3 will be set in the present time, about 2 months after Part 1. Pls lmk if anyone has any confusion!
Note: Supervillain's powers are the ability to manipulate and detect human emotion. I tried to portray that a lot cause well...it's his superpower. But he sees emotions as colors.
Losing his wife was one of the hardest things Supervillain ever went through.
Not when his powers first came. Not when his parents beat him on a daily basis. Not when he lost his best friend in a freak accident.
His wife was someone who kept him grounded. Who was always there for him, even in his darkest moments. She was his staple, his rock. The one who brought happiness until it almost clouded everything he saw. He looked crazy, waving his hand around, trying to clear away the happiness that fogged around his wedding day.
In a sense, she was also his second-in-command. Somehow, seeing every little detail he had missed in reports, taking overtime to help train new recruits in his uprising against the Hero Agency, something that’s always been corrupt from the start. Figuring out who had been siphoning money off of the company they created as a storefront.
She was his everything.
They had two kids together. The elder looked like him, with dark brown hair and icy blue eyes. The younger looked like his mother, with lighter hair and forest-green eyes. Two boys they promised to give a better world. To provide them with a world without corruption or hurting or anything that would make them suffer the way they did.
Supervillain had been a fool then.
He had gotten too careless, letting his guard down when he really should’ve noticed the Hero Agency being far too quiet, noticed the heroes following him around like vultures.
Coming back from a father-son outing with his eldest to see him home ransacked was surprisingly not the hardest thing Supervillain ever went through.
It was bursting through the door wrecked with bullet holes to find his youngest crying over his wife’s dead body.
Her neck had been snapped, and from what he could find through the surveillance, his son had survived by hiding under one of the secret floorboards.  It was terrifying, usually seeing the bright happiness cloud everything and only being left with black death and pain in the air.
They were wearing masks, the killers, but Supervillain knew. It was the hero Agency.
But he never told his boys who the actual murderers was. As far as his youngest knew, it was a bad case with robbers. But his eldest was smarter. He knew immediately. And he harbored that hate for the so-called heroes just as much as Supervillain did, even though it broke his heart to see his son grow up so quickly.
His oldest son matured with his age, was tactical, and was a keen leader. Powerless but strong. He quickly climbed the ranks of his father’s mafia, landing a spot as Henchman.
His younger grew up bright, intelligent, kind, blissfully unaware of how dirty his father’s hands were. It still made Supervillain’s heart ache when a new Hero arose with the same generational fire powers his late wife had. Of course, it was his son, a walking memory of her, who inherited her powers. But it hurt to see Hero fight for a corrupt agency.
But somehow, Hero managed to steer clear of all of the corruption. Hero would take the stage, and Supervillain would watch the TV, knowing that behind the mask, Hero’s eyes would remain bright.
They weren’t as bright anymore.
Constructive Criticism is also welcome! Hope y'all have a good day/night! :D

Desperation
Tw: chronic pain (Medical inaccuracies, as I do not know a lot about chronic pain)
Villain's scars always ache, especially on his back.
The scars there littered his skin like raindrops, a reminder of his past. Of the pain.
On good days, they would feel like fingertips ghosting the skin.
On bad days, he would be bedridden for hours as the pounding pain left him gasping for air that never seemed to be there in the first place.
Nothing ever made it better. No matter how many treatments he's tried, everything he's pushed out of desperation, the pain always came back.
Maybe he ended up on Hero's doorstep out of that same desperation.
Him. At his nemesis's door.
Hero was going to laugh in his face.
But desperation was one of the most dangerous things of all.
And Villain was desperate.
He hears the muted cursing of the second knock, footsteps, a pause, and then the familiar click of a gun—muted by the door but most definitely there.
Desperation really is a dangerous thing.
But to Villain's suprise Hero doesn't automatically open the door and put a bullet into his skull, but instead opens the door, one hand holding open the door and the other leaning the gun against the doorframe, out of sight, but ready to fire at moments notice.
But Hero doesn't look alarmed, panicked, or ready to fight. Instead, he studies Villain, slumped over and leaning against the front porch railing. "How did you get this address."
Villain held up his hands in surrender. "I-I-"He could barely see through the pain. Hero seemed to pick up on that pretty quickly.
Villain hopes and prays to any God out there that Hero sees that he is desperate and in pain. And he prays that Hero will either help or shoot him.
Both would take away the pain.
But Hero, the walking saint, is much more merciful than Villain ever will be. Out of the corner of his eyes, he sees the gun go into the holster. "Where does it hurt?"
Villain can barely speak now. "Back."
Hero's hands brush against him, and he can see the frown. "You're not bleeding."
"Chronic."
"Oh."
Villain blinks, and the next thing he knows, he's lying on a couch in a dimly lit living room while Hero rustles around the kitchen (or, more likely, the medical cabinet).
The pain is pounding now, sending wave after wave of hurting through every part of him.
Hero comes out of the kitchen holding a foul-smelling rag. "Flip over." There's no malice or anger in his nemesis's voice, but Villain still flinches back. "I can't help you if you don't do what I say. I'm not going to hurt you."
Hero helps him, guiding his shoulders until he's lying on his stomach. There's a sudden pause. "I do need to take off your shirt."
Villain nods absent-mindedly, the pain fogging over every other part of his brain. It goes dark, and then the breeze of the air conditioning sends shivers down his spine.
Hero wipes the warm rag all over his back, something Villain doesn't realize until-
It stops.
All the pain. Just gone.
Villain's convinced he's dead. Dead or about to. But no. His heart is still beating, and his mind is still racing.
He's able to feel everything else now. Not the pain, but the wetness on his cheeks, the blanket covering the lower half of his body, Hero using his fire powers to keep the rag at a warm temperature as it goes up and down his back.
Villain looks up. "How-"
Hero shrugs. "I have chronic pain, too." He said simply. "Took me forever but I managed to find the right amount of herbs to help with the pain. It's a side effect of my powers; my arms cramp up badly. Not much medication works cause there's literally next to no research on the downsides of powers. Took my years just to understand my own." His voice drops to a whisper. "It never goes away; I just find ways to treat what I can."
Villain pauses, and Hero continues. "You're touch starved, aren't you. You've been leaning into every touch."
There's no reply. Villain can't find it in him. "That's okay," The rag is placed on the center of his back. "You're gonna crash soon, but you already know that don't you. There's always a big crash after every episode."
Yea, he's right. The next morning, Villain wakes up to a bowl of cereal and a bottle of the Hero's herbal serum he uses.
But he still comes back.
Later, when he sees Hero having a similar episode in a dark alleyway, he pays it back.
Somehow, somewhere in the mix, they become close, sharing stories and things that help. Somewhere in the mix, Hero goes from a nemesis to a friend and, a year later, a lover.
It got a lot better after that.
Villain's scars ached, but Hero always seemed to make it better.
As always constructive criticism is always welcome. Requests are open! Have a great day/night :)

Very happy I made the list!!
Masterlist of Masterlists Blogs
A list for each masterlist and the person who it's from, just for a visual reference
Edit: I fucking forgot but now in spite doing it later this month because there are so many writers who have cool writing stuff but I keep forgetting and getting overwhelmed and worried I’m going to forget them because my brain is being a little shit like that. Idk how tags work, if they do without having to post it or whatever but if I tag you, you’re cool and I swear one day I will get myself to stop procrastinating on starting to read (the hardest part tbh)
Basically it’ll be the person/blog, short synapse of their writing, and whatever the fuck I thought was interesting and wanted to read later because I keep fearing I’m going to forget and that does not bode well with mental health creating stupid unnecessary anxiety
…I am going to procrastinate on this fuck you future me
HAHA SIKE YOU THOUGHT PAST ME
basic structure is this
@/[blog name]
recommended/saved thing to read (if any. Mainly specifics and also a brief, uh, briefing)
tags that they tend to fall under (#fluff or #whump or whatever. Will be very basic in terms of tagging I’m not good at complicated stuff)
It will be constantly updated as I find new things and info. Also these are in no particular order, maybe one day organize in terms of reading content but for now it’s gonna be a mess. Gonna be a mess of blogs and eventually I’ll add descriptions when I have more time because it’ll be easier than trying to remember each block if that makes sense.
Also words are hard so sorry if I sound like a broken record for some of them. They’re all great, regardless of whether you’re giving the blorbos hurt or comfort or throwing them into a wall and then giving them a blanket. Y’all are positively epic with you’re writing don’t ever stop
Also, because I feel the urge to add because I feel like I’m somehow being a fraud and two-faced liar (I overthink a lot okay?), I am technically of the blog @idkanonymystuff for reference. Adding that because I don’t want to accidentally have people think I’m two separate people it makes me feel bad and want to be as apologetic as this
https://youtu.be/XspDkqEtWFE?si=MxUloG4CM1GZKRSW
(Hopefully that works, if not, search up Japanese Apology Olympics)
Added a cut so that if it’s reblogged it doesn’t take up the entire thing lol because it’s looong
I’m putting this post here because I like learning about others blorbos and also they have stories behind them and I like that
Also putting this post here because it has a bunch of blogs for writing people. Mostly heroes and villains but ye
ーーー
@jumpywhumpywriter
Honestly everything, but meaning to get to the Vampires and Villains crossover mainly and also the books involving Shadow and Thomas (I forgo title). All of it is hecking amazing and very well written, first started at the Crippled Hero and went from there. All of it is great! Personal favorite probs the Coffee shop
Whump, heroes and villains, fantasy (? Idk, there’s mythology creatures and world built stuff it’s all cool)
@unknownogre
Also everything. Not anything specifically, maybe the Ao3 stuff but all of the writings are good
Fantasy, heroes and villains (occasionally), fluff (?idk if that counts but there’s some wholesome stuff there)
@paingoes
The Destroyer’s Trilogy, either on Tumblr or Ao3. Been meaning to read it but starting is the hardest part. Damn you procrastination
Whump, living weapon (not a tag here I don’t think but that’s the story content. Mainly for Destroyer), recovery (rubies), think that’s all but I’m dumb so sue me
@heroes-villains-side-blog
Honestly they just have a bit of everything (and as the name implies, it’s all heroes and villains). Also good for worldbuilding ideas (from the stories)
Hecking all the tags, but I personally like the crack tag. Also fluff and soft ____. I’m a sucker for that stuff okay? Not just whump (though that’s good as well)
@chaotic-orphan (and also @macknus technically?)
Main ones are ones I’ve already read, Benign Mischeif (really hecking good I love it) and the delirious villain x hero caretaker (also really hecking good, fingers crossed that vengeance is had. Iykyk). Maybe check out the other ones and see if they spark interest
Whump, heroes and villains, fantasy and found family (for the benign mischief. Maybe also fluff but that’s probably a stretch)
@thepenultimateword
Not entirely sure, but all the series are quite good and have nice fluff. No immediate thoughts on what to read but it’s great for fuzzy/comfort feelings (as far as I know/have read. Will update if there’s more)
Heroes and villains, fluff, fantasy (kinda? There is some fantasy)
@thoughtsonhurtandcomfort
All their stuff is the absolute shit (if you’re reading this, it’s the idk anon who sent a long appreciation. Been lurking), amazing whump and comfort/recovery (absolutely phenomenal cannot say it enough) for all their blorbos, perfect amount of shaking them in a Tupperware and then comfort. All of them are good, just, all of them. If I listened each one out and my likings this would be not be a briefing
Whump, comfort, fluff, recovery, lotta different Whumpees (not a tag but quite a nice variety), fantasy (?),
@fourwingedwriter
As of rn, mainly the cyborg whump series (FUCKING AMAZING HIGHLY RECOMMEND), it’s very sweet and has recovery after whump (again, I really love the recovery and comfort and all that. My absolute favorite. Also I like happy endings shut up), but the other series seem cool too.
Whump, cyborg whump (specifically), fluff, recovery (that’s kinda rocky? Eh?),
@inkwell-and-dagger
The How to Kill an Immortal one seemed quite interesting! Been meaning to check it out later (if I don’t procrastinate into oblivion).
Whump, immortal specifically, uh, I’ll add more after I read it
@whump-in-the-closet
Honestly a few, something about an arson elf (I forgo the name sorry) and the Saviour thing. Read the first few for the elf and all for the savior (atm) and they’re really hecking good.
Whump, heroes and villains, fantasy, living weapon (I know they have some stuff in that. Might be prompts but those are also cool)
@the-modern-typewriter
Heroes and villains mainly, personally I read them like one would a daily magazine, all the pieces are very good. Also personal things which are cool and I want to read but alas I do not have a patron account (I forgot the titles but I will put them here once I find/remember)
Heroes and villains, fluff, whump, h/c, honestly all the tags lotta variety
@raineandsky
Mainly heroes and villains, great variety, lotta content. Good for when you’re in a browsing sorta mood
Heroes and villains, honestly all the tags.
@the-broken-pen
Great stuff, nothing specific but I have been meaning to browse the stories available but haven’t gotten to it. The ones I HAVE read though are amazing and have nice feelings.
Heroes and villains, fantasy, fluff and angst (as of rn those are mainly the genres of the ones I’ve read.)
@whumpsday
Mainly the Kane and Jim series, it’s fucking phenomenal (sorry for alternating curse usage I’m inconsistent), one of the first series I got into, absolutely impeccable storyline. The prequel is great set up, the Jim arc makes me want to ram a silver sword up Kane’s ass, the Kane arc made me feel sorry for them (especially after knowing all of dudes history and lack of persuasion. The whump parts were gooooood though), and the current arc makes me feel warm and fuzzy and gave me inspo for my own storylines. All in all, great shit and can’t wait to see how the next arcs eventually unfold
Whump, vampire whump specifically, recovery and comfort, fluff (kinda??? Like at the end),
@mj-iza-writer
No series to follow but they do have some good shit. Great one-shots (?) and I really love the recovery/comfort that usually happens at the end (again, personal favorite thing to read.). Highly recommend
Whump, recovery, comfort, fluff (probably doesn’t fit exactly but some things are quite sweet imo. Do correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not good with tags
@whumpisgoodwhumpislife
Great series with Everest and the battery and fish man. It’s a nice amount of whump and comfort together and I really like the fluffiness (?) of the recovery part of things (rip battery man at the moment).
Whump, recovery, comfort, vampire and living battery and mer (those are the three of them)
@befuddled-calico-whump (and also @whumpflash technically?)
I have yet to read their stuff but all of it seems really hecking epic. Penumbra sparked interest but then I procrastinated so hard on starting it that I feel guilty (what?). But all of it seems really epic! Also comics! All really cool! Personal fave that I actually finished from getting started was the whole testing the effectiveness of torture methods (Test Track, that’s what it was) and it’s horrible I love it (and I mean that in the most genuine way possible)
Whump, comics (? Might make a new tag for that cause comics are also great!), lotta stuff lotta variety
@save-the-villainous-cat
Their stuff is the absolute shit (like all the others)! Heroes and villains and the writing is so well done (god I feel like I’m being repetitive curse my sporadic vocabulary). They have fluff (fucking phenomenal), they have angst (I don’t think I’ve checked it out yet lol but it’s probably fucking phenomenal) they have whump (also fucking phenomenal), they have horny jail (what? I may be asexual but, uh, okay idk I mainly focus on the closeness and intimacy not the, uh, y’know. Anyways, it’s also fucking phenomenal), it’s all great! All around absolutely beautiful works of literature
Heroes and villains, fluff, angst, whump, smut (the four nations—),
@sir-fenris
The Curse of Withering…man it’s fucking beautiful. I have plans on reblogging it with commentary and stuff but procrastinating and overthinking got the better of me. I will do it in the future (mayhaps) but until then, it was hands down one of the best things I’ve read. The concept, the worldbuilding (via random posts that aren’t the main storyline), the characters, the way the words convey the feelings and characters and all that so smoothly, honestly perfection. I eagerly await whatever morsels or writings come next and that Cyrus can have tomato soup and grilled cheese and a blanket or whatever the heck they want because they hecking deserve it
Whump, living weapon, more tags to be added as the story unfolds
@lovelizards
Great whump stuff in terms of both writing and not writing (art. The word is art)! Also apparently stardew valley somewhat which I’m not complaining about, hell yeah! As for series, honestly all of them are quite interesting, just a matter of getting started
Whump, comics (okay not really but it’s a tag that’ll work in the future for when I get around to reblogging stuff with art and all that),
@those-damn-snippets
Beautiful writings in their own and they have collection of heroes and villains stuff that are also great to read! I particularly like the Breakfast in Bed storyline, something about drunkness, Chaotic good (the villain is a mood), and something involving a four-armed monster dude. There are a lot more but they’re all phenomenal!
Heroes and villain, fluff, angst (?),
@creweemmaeec11
Heroes and villains, fluffy writings all around, all of it is great! Been meaning to finish one of the series, Panic as a gift (I forgo title) but all of them, series and snippets, are beautiful!
Heroes and villains, fluff,
@melpomenelamusa
The one named chimera I think was the name (shut up it’s late) but it seems really hecking interesting! The whole concept is really cool and just, god words are not on my side atm but yeah seems epic. Definitely on my to read list
Whump, nonhuman (?),
@oros-ash3s
All of their things seem really interesting and in depth and complex to the point where my brain gets overwhelmed trying to absorb all the details but in a good way. I’m very curious to learn about the storylines (understanding/comprehension be damned /j) and is definitely on the to read list!
Whump, I know there ARE other tags it could fall under but I have yet to find them sorry, will update as I get into it
@writing-prompt-s
Technically they aren’t a writing blog, BUT the prompts and reblog of said prompts have some absolute gems of literature. Great for if you don’t know what to read and can just scroll around until you find a prompt that’s interesting and then just look through that prompts reblogs for writing. It’s fucking worth it, found a few of my favorite writers there (like unknownogre)!
All the tags, just, all of them, it can be anything like Barbie
@defectivehero
Also heroes and villains though with more so a focus on whump for the most part (though if my short memory serves me right, a few that aren’t as whumpy. Could be wrong tho). It’s been a minute since I checked them out (I do have plans to browse a bit), but their writing is phenomenal, the emotions and actions and all those writing things are done so well. Highly recommend!
Heroes and villains, whump/angst (mostly), might be other tags but I’ll add them as I remember because it’s seriously been a minute
@neon-kazoo
Mainly heroes and villains stuff, I’ve read quite a few of the things and they’re all phenomenal. No immediate series that intrigue me to get started on but it’s great for browsing!
Heroes and villains, all the other type of tags idk man it’s a lot and I’m stupid /j
@melpomenelamusa (for some reason I can’t remember if I already did this one. If I did, apologies)
The main intriguing thing is the chimera series (the one with the half-animal peoples). Seems like an extremely intriguing concept and is in my to read list!
Whump, non human (specifically. I think?),
@writinglittlepains
Got introduced from looking through either chaotic orphan or closet-whump person (I am so sorry I forgo name whump-in-the-closet?), the speedster one if fucking crazy. I love it and can’t wait to see where it goes next!
Heroes and villains, whump, lab specifically???,
@secretwhumplair
Recently got quite invested into the “No Warrior” storyline and so far (still quite in the beginning) it’s hecking great! Actually phenomenal, and that’s before I’ve even read more than like the first 5 installment. Currently on consequences and I am god damn hooked on the storyline! Can’t wait to see how it ends!
Whump, comfort, uh, fantasy kinda? It has Vikings idk man
@mirensiart
Okay, again, I know this is technically more so a comic but shut up it’s my bookshelf and I do what I want (plus comics are just books with way too much picture to word ratio which is great for my stupid attention span :D). The LU pain sharing AU is great! Also really hecking good art. Also I like Legend of Zelda stuff, it’s cool. Fun fact, actually I think the first reason I started regularly coming into tumblr lol
Comics, fantasy (? The video game characters are technically fantasy Esq), idk if whump counts but kinda?, fluff, I guess it could technically be slice of life but in a really strange and complicated sense. I did say I suck at tags so forgive me this is hard agh-
@kythonsechos
Mostly fantasy stuff and while there isn’t a lot of stuff they’ve done, the few pieces of writing they have done hooked me and despite not knowing whatever world they have going on I am god damn invested in it. Also the writing is done phenomenally!
Fantasy, uh, atm that’s kinda it. Maybe kinda worldbuilding??
@just-horrible-things
Saw the master list of “Unlikely Salvation” from another blog and it seemed really hecking interesting. I just have not yet had the ability to stop procrastinating and actually get started on it.
Whump, fantasy (?), uh, more to come once I read/figure out if there’s anything else
@kaiwewi
Lotta good heroes and villains stuff. They have some great series; just binge read the one with what I can only for some reason remember as “Fashion Famous” even though that’s most definitely not the title, but it’s great! Also the writing is fucking phenomenal and like tomato soup with the grilled cheese on a rainy fall afternoon when you don’t have any adulting to do!
Heroes and villains, plethora of all the tags (because wide variety), ugghhh my brain is melting it’s midnight I’m sorry will edit this part out agh—
@thewhumpcaretaker
I can’t remember if I already did them, but if not what the fuck me they’re great how could you forget? ANYWAYS, Curse in two bodies (I am sorry if I got name wrong it’s late and I’m on mobile and really don’t wanna do sushi’s) is fucking phenomenal, beautifully done and a very unique writing style I really dig.
Whump, Royal whump specifically, kinda comfort? Caretaker stuff but like fucked up?? How do I categorize this? Fantasy I think (or has kings and shit that counts right?)
@pigeonwhumps
I genuinely can’t recall if I put them here but all of there stuff seems great! Been invested in (now procrastinating on) the Phoenix series ‘Immortal Cannon Fodder’ and it made me feel things I was not prepared to feel and I wish to adopt and care for them and, definitely unrelated, want to skin a few certain individuals alive (that’s a compliment, you’re very good at portraying characters to hate. Aka you are very good with crafting words, I seriously mean that as a compliment, really do apologize if it’s unintentionally rude or anything)
Whump, immortal whump, heroes and villains (technically), those are the main ones for now
@maybeitsalivescribbles
Don’t know how I forgot them (or if I already did include them, how did I forget again), but their stuff is the good stuff. I don’t even think that’s good enough to express how good the writing is, loved the “These two dorks” master list and their one off crackles. Also one of the first few writers I discovered when I only just uncovered the world of tumblr writers!
Heroes and villains, fantasy, lil bit of everything tbh it’s great
@mythos-night
Only just discovered them and read one snippet, but by the gods their writing is good! I feel bad for not having more to say, but I don’t have anything else to add, they’re great :D will most definitely read through their things once I get over the hill that is just starting lol
Heroes and villains, uh, will add more tags when I fully check them out
@sleeplessspell
Same thing as above, absolutely impeccable craftsmanship of words into narratives and beautifully portraying characters and stories and ajahhdjwkdh— great stuff :D will also check out once I get over procrastination of starting to reading works of literature art (seriously, why are there so many of you? Slow down /joking)
Fantasy, uh, also will add more tags when I fully check them out
Okay another break god why are there so many of you—

Just a Couple Days
TW: Needles, (Consensual?) Kidnapping, Cursing
"For all the times you've gotten angry because I stayed up too late," Villain chucked. "You seem to be awake at such a late hour of the night."
"Why are you in my house?" Hero didn't look up from the paperwork they were filling out.
"You call this a house?" Villain looked around the half-decent apartment the hero agency had assigned to them, mockingly gesturing to the dishwasher that had broken down weeks ago. They had probably just resorted to hand washing. Villain saw the soap on the edges of the sink.
Hero continued writing. "You're avoiding my question."
Villain shrugged. "I just wanted to see you." They murmured, their hand running along the edge of the desk.
"I don't have time to deal with your bullshit."
"This really is a pretty terrible desk."
"This really is a horrible time for you to come over."
"Oh, what? Am I interrupting you from your important paperwork?" Villain leaned on the edge of the desk, snatching one of the forms before Hero could respond. Villain took note of that and frowned. "You're reaction time."
Hero slumped into the chair with a huff. "My reaction time is excellent."
"I had already read half the page by the time you tried to snatch this back." Villain waved it a bit.  "How many hours of sleep did you get? "
"If you came here to kick my ass, just do it already."
"Oh, who's avoiding questions now?" Villain set the paper down in favor of grabbing Hero by the chin, leaning over the desk to make sure Hero couldn't avoid them. "Go to sleep."
Hero scowled. "This is due tomorrow. I don't exactly have time for you-"
"You have time when I say you do." Villain snapped, letting go and pulling a syringe out of their pocket. "Do I need to force you to sleep?"
Hero's demeanor went from irritated to downright fearful. "You wouldn't."
Villain smiled. "Can't finish those papers if you've been kidnapped."
They expected protests, fighting even. But the real shock came when Hero simply tossed the pen down and rubbed their hand over their face. "Please."
Now it was Villain's turn to be shocked. "You want this?" They blurted out.
The nod was hesitant but there. "Just for a couple days." Villain saw the gears turning. "I just need some time to clear my head- no, I could pay if you want- oh God, what am I doing?"
Villain set the shiny syringe down. "No need for payment. I know what your salary is." They busied themselves by searching his pockets for a sack and rope (Hero always teased them about their never-ending pockets).
Hero began to protest. "I'll go willingly, just-"
"Oh, I know you will. But there are security cameras outside the building, and I don't think the Agency will be happy when they see you just walking out of the building."
Hero opened their mouth, then closed it. "No sedative?"
"Oh, darling."
Villain knew how everyone would react if they found out Hero had been awake when kidnapped. How they should've done more to fight. How they should've been better. Villain wondered how Hero could take all the criticism despite everything they've done for the city. This needed to look real. Villain knew Hero would fight out of pure instinct the moment the sack went on.
Hero sighed, defeated. "Just..." Their gaze never left the needle. "A small dosage."
Villain moved swiftly, the needle in Hero's arm before their sluggish brain could comprehend what was happening. "With how much sleep you've gotten?" They murmured as they pushed a little bit of the drug in. "I don't think you're going to wake up soon."
In all honesty, they didn't need to take a full dosage. Hero was out like a light, eyes rolling to the back of their heads as they slumped into the Villain's waiting arms. They chuckled, grabbing the sack.
They wouldn't hurt the Hero. At least not now. There was no fun in fighting your nemesis when they weren't up to your level. Hero needed help, something Villain would be happy to provide.
Villain left the tiny apartment and the now burning stack of papers with Hero slung over their shoulder and the determination to give them the help they deserved.
Constructive Criticism is very much appreciated! :) Hope y'all have an amazing day/night!

“Womp Womp.”

Icy Blue Eyes
“So.” Supervillain swirled the glass in his hand, watching as the liquid whirled around. Villain stood at attention in front of him, nervous. “Hero, huh?”
Villain could’ve sworn he felt his heart stop. “What about him?” he managed to cough out after an awkward pause.
Supervillain stopped swirling the cup. “I never told you anything. Yet here you are, looking like you just got caught committing a war crime.” He looked up, swiveling the office chair so it faced Villain fully. “But I’m glad we’re on the same page.”
Villain tried to keep eye contact with his mentor. Those icy blue eyes seemed to always know every little detail of everything happening. It came with his power, Villain had come to realize. Supervillain’s power was being able to read people’s emotions and manipulate them. This was why Villain was now mentally kicking themselves for thinking they could simply hide their love for Hero from someone who could read minds.
“I’ve told you about how my powers work. I see colors representing different emotions, and I can manipulate them to my liking. I take, and I give sadness. I can bring people’s worst nightmares out with a wrist flick. But do you know the one emotion I cannot manipulate no matter how hard I try?”
Villain swallowed thickly. “Love.”
Supervillain nodded. “Correct. I can’t make anyone fall in love, and I can’t take away that love, either. Amor Animi Arbitrio Sumitur, Non Ponitur. Love is taken by the choice of mind, not to be put down. Do you know what that means?”
Villain knew the answer. Supervillain knew that. Supervillain’s Second-in-Command, Henchman, stood behind him, staring with an unreadable gaze that would make anyone squirm. But Villain was too focused on Supervillain to actually shudder. “We uh…” He licked his lips nervously. “We can choose to love, but we can’t choose to stop loving.”
“That’s Hero’s favorite phrase, isn’t it?” Supervillain paused. “No…Per aspera ad astra. Through hardships to the stars.” Villain felt sick. This was all nauseating. The way the phrases rolled off Supervillain’s tongue so easily, how he had managed to say not one but two of Hero’s favorite Latin phrases.
“Sir, I-“
“I thought we were past the formalities.” Supervillain stood up sharply, causing Villain to flinch. “I can see it. I’ve seen it all. I’ve seen the light blue of uncertainty forming a halo around your head. The purple fear forms a chokehold around your neck. I can take those away easily.” He paused, ghosting his fingers around the edge of the desk. “I can’t just remove the love on your chest.”
Villain had to strain his ears to listen to the last part, but he knew deep down that Supervillain was right.
Supervillain strolled around the desk until he was right in front of Villain. Villain felt like he couldn’t breathe. “Are you sorry?”
He swallowed. “For what?”
“Dating [Hero’s name].”
Villain’s heart beat faster until he felt it would explode.
When he didn’t answer, Supervillain leaned forward. “Don’t lie.” He gritted out between his teeth. His icy blue eyes seemed to be the only thing Villain could focus on.
“No!”
The room went still. Henchman stopped approaching them, frozen in place, and Villain was pretty sure Henchman had gone a shade paler.
Supervillain paused and leaned against the desk, looking…content?
“I understand.” He said, his eyes glancing around the room before returning to Villain. “You’re dismissed, Villain. I’ve seen Hero fall to too many toxic partners before you. I just wanted to make sure.” Villain was honeslty surpised he walked out in one piece. Supervillain hated how corrupt the Hero Agency was and how other heroes only worked for the glamor. That’s what he loved about Hero, Villain had come to realize. How Hero did everything to keep people safe. He never wanted fame; he just wanted to save lives. But the toxic partners? Yes, Hero had had some partners who used him for fame, and maybe Supervillain had uncovered that. But why would he care?
Villain didn’t understand what he meant until he saw those same icy blue eyes when he met Hero’s father the following week.
Please tell me if this is cringe y'all I have next to no social skills. But yea! I hope you enjoyed and I am open to requests! Constructive Criticism is great appreciated :)
Part 2 is out!

Somethings never Change
"Ah." Supervillain hummed as he sat on the rooftop, letting his legs dangle off the edge. "The cycle continues."
Superhero chuckled as he laid his head on Supervillain's shoulder, fiddling with the wedding ring on his finger, a matching one on Supervillain's hand. "The cycle continues."
They both watch Hero and Villain, formerly their sidekicks, sit on a rooftop a couple of buildings away, unaware they are being watched as they settle down for a picnic date together.
"It's almost hilarious how they tried to hide this from us," Supervillain murmured, observing as Villain cracked a joke, sending Hero into a fit of giggles. "And to think this was us 5 years ago."
Superhero snorted, "Some things will never change, I guess." They buried themselves deeper into his lover's side until they almost looked like one person melted together.
"Do you remember how your sidekick used to cling to you when she was first inducted?" Superhero felt Supervillains fingers brush over their shoulder.
"Do you remember how yours accidentally ran into a wall on his first mission?" Superhero retorted, but there was no malice in their voice.
Supervillain kissed Superhero's forehead. "I call being the Officiant at their wedding."
Superhero gasped. "You wouldn't dare take that honor away from me."
Supervillain grinned that same grin that used to scare away any civilian who looked at him. "Oh, I dare. Besides, you need to walk Hero down the aisle."
Superhero huffed, "You win, I guess." He stood up, "I call the movie tonight."
"You mean the movie you're going to sleep through anyways?"
"I hate you."
"No, you love me."
They ended up leaving Hero and Villain to their little date, watching a movie of Superhero's choice (Which Superhero fell asleep to minutes in, and Supervillain dozed off shortly after, cradled in each other's arms).
First story on here! Ig it's a bit of a prompt? Idk. Constructive criticism is very much appreciated!
