🎡 New Team Cap At The Fair 🎠

(AKA Bucky and his REAL found family, because TB* will never be canon in this house. 🙂‍↔️💖)

Using my free will to draw these guys eating Guatemalan snacks x'D For those who don't know, Roxanne's adoptive family is originally from Guatemala. So Sam, Joaquin, Bucky and her are either visiting the country with them, or maybe went there on a mission and decided to visit a fair once they were done to unwind and have fun, hehe. You guys choose. ^^

Anyway, love these four sm. ♡

For those unfamiliar with what each of them is eating:

Sam - Plataninas (plantain chips)

Bucky - Agua de jamaica

Roxanne - Elote loco (corn with a variety of toppings, hers is the most classic one with cheese, ketchup, mustard and mayo)

Joaquin - Enchilada guatemalteca (basically a tostada with a LOT more toppings, including beet, minced meat, hard-boiled egg, lettuce, onion, salsa, and more. Famously SUPER messy to eat, as you can see xD)

This is from a couple of chapters behind, but I wanted to share the illustrations for this scene here eventually. It's one of my favorites in the fanfic so far. Unknowingly to Bucky, this was the moment he fell in love with Roxanne. 💖 (I think it's been long enough since I first posted the chapter for me to confirm this 😅)

Shout-out to Julienne for this specific paragraph, because she's the one who wrote it, and I thought it was just beautiful. 🥰

🦾 "Mission Failure" ⛓️

This artwork was made last December, it's inspired by a What If...? Season 3 Episode 3.

The episode itself actually had several similarities with the Sedaverse and the story of A Second Chance. This scene in particular, where Bucky has his first mission failure as the Winter Soldier, served as a great constrasting parallel to Alejandro in ASC, and how he as HYDRA's El Encantador also had his first failure when he was unable to retrieve Roxanne during the story's first arc.

And whereas Bucky's failure with HYDRA in this episode was what kicked off his path to redemption, to a friendship, and to an attempt to retake his life, Alejandro's failure is what begins his downward spiral into being consumed by revenge and darkness past the point of no return.

(Also Alex has a broken arm during this scene in the fanfic (Chapter 7), so that gives the parallel extra points haha)

🪽 Sam's Biggest Supporters ⭐

In honor of 'Captain America: Brave New World' hitting Disney+ today, here's a throwback of a commission I did for my co-author @juliennepearldy in 2022 (hence the artstyle looking a bit different 😅) of Bucky, Roxanne, and Joaquin supporting their friend, their leader, their Captain, Sam Wilson. As they should.

By the way, for those not in the know, these four as a group in the Sedaverse are referred to as New Team Cap. They're a family and I love them, and also there will be a brand new artwork of them coming pretty soon. In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy this.

Friendly reminder that any movie that shows Bucky Barnes being anything other than supportive and loyal to Sam Wilson is OOC and lying to you. ❤���

❤️⚔️ Rocky in 1602 AU 🛡️💙

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I first made these. 😳

Since I already briefly introduced this AU, I wanted to share these other images I've made for it! As I mentioned, it's inspired by What If...? Season 2 Episode 8, except it actually takes place in an alternate Elizabethan era, no Time Stone shenanigans involved.

Other than my recent Valentine's piece, we haven't done much for this setting in a while. 🥲 Julienne and I have been busy with the main fanfic and other stuff of course haha, but hopefully we'll be able to make more content for it soon! It's a fun one to dabble into. 😊 The yearning is strong with this one ;u;

Further explanation of this AU's plot beyond the cut, for anyone interested. Fair warning, long-ish read ahead.

In this dimension, Lady Roxanne was the only daughter of Viscount Frederick Brooks, a kind-hearted nobleman and alchemist, and his wife, Viscountess Debra Brooks. She was bethrothed to Count Alejandro Vidal, who her parents made sure she approved of. One day, Count Vidal betrayed the family when it was discovered he intended to use one of the Viscount's potions, which granted its user the abilities of a spider, to create an army loyal to him and take the throne of England for himself. He murdered Roxanne's parents, and in an act of desperation and potential self-sacrifice, the girl drank the potion herself, thus gaining her spider powers.

Unbeknownst to her, she had caught the eye of Barnes some time ago, when he had spotted her at Prince Loki's royal ball, which the Merry Men had infiltrated in order to carry out a heist, and which she had attented with her parents and then-fiance. The young noblewoman had instantly attracted the thief with her beauty and graceful aura, but he had initially brushed it off as he was aware nothing could ever happen between the daughter of a Viscount and a peasant and outlaw such as himself.

Lady Roxanne, along with the Brooks' most loyal servants, the García family, fled. Now hunted by the Count, the Garcías took Lady Ro to Rogers Hood and his Merry Men for refuge and protection. While the rogues were initially reluctant, they ultimately agreed, in appreciation for the late Viscount's generosity towards the poor that they too sought to help.

Now possessing superhuman strenght and abilities, Lady Ro convinces the Merry Men to train her as one of their own so that she, along with their help, can take back her parents' land back from the greedy Count Vidal and avenge their deaths. She requests Bucky Barnes, the most capable fighter of the group, as well its most reserved and intimidating member, to train her in combat personally.

Little did he know, fate would bring the two back together. And once Barnes reluctantly began Roxanne's training, he soon learned not to underestimate the girl's ability, strenght (both physical and in spirit), and bravery. Learning of each other's heart of golds and discovering they had more in common than either of them realized, they grew to see each other as equals. A close bond was born between the two, which eventually blossomed into a romance that seemed impossible for two people of their respective classes. And with the Count still fully intend on marrying Lady Ro by any means necessary, their love, more than forbidden, could even be dangerous. But it may just be worth fighting for.

Side note: In our version of the 1602 universe, Sam is also part of Roger Hood's Merry Men along with Scott and Bucky, because Julienne and I were a little butthurt that our boy got left out. And any chance we have of including the super-underutilized-in-canon trio of Steve, Sam, and Bucky, we take it! 😤 But Scott still made a little too much sense as a Merry Man to take him out, so we kept him in too. 😝 I'm really hoping to draw the whole gang one day! Realistically it won't be anytime soon, but one day I will!!! 😤😅

🥪 That one Thunderbolts* scene if the writers weren't allergic to happiness.

Just kidding, this based on it but unrelated. We don't talk about that movie around here.

Hi, Alpine and Jello ♡ (Jello is Roxanne's cat BTW)

Since this brings up a good opportunity to mention it, here is my stance on Thunderbolts* and how it fits into the Sedaverse for those curious:

The events of the movie Thunderbolts* (I refuse to use the new title) will not be canon to the Sedaverse at any point because, to my consideration, this movie's characterization of Bucky was poorly executed, a detriment to the character in several ways, and does not allign with his arc and development in previous MCU projects, especially TFATWS, my personal favorite Bucky project that I heavily based his writing in "A Second Chance" on, and a show that the TB* writers seem to have skipped altogether. Without delving too much into spoilers for either project, I can tell you that if I wrote TB* into the Sedaverse, I would have to either split Roxanne and Bucky up, or kill Roxanne off for it to work, and I do not want to do either of those things. I do not want to adapt this film into my AU, because it would mean taking away what Bucky and Roxanne spend the entirety of the fanfic working so hard to achieve, just for the sake of cheap drama. So I will not do it. It's my fanfic, and I will do what I want. Kindly deal with it.

⭐ Meet the Team Cap Kids! (Avengers Academy AU 🎒)

Just some fun introductions to the main friend group of our high school AU! 😁✨ These were made last November, but I'm still quite happy with how they turned out. They were a ton of fun to work on! ♡

What are your favourite parts about Roxanne Brooks a.k.a. Seda?

Aww, thank you so much! 🥹🥰 I'm SO happy that you enjoy my artworks! Also, congratulations, you're officially this blog's first ever ask! 😉🎉

My favorite part about Roxanne, undoubtedly, has got to be her personality! My girl sometimes feels more like a 90's Disney Princess than a Marvel Superhero, but that's what makes her so endearing for me! 😆

It's worth noting that I created Roxanne at a time when there was only a handful of female superheroes in the MCU, and not a lot of variety when it came to their personalities. Nowadays, there are plenty of more female characters among their roster, with more fleshed out and different personalities. But even so, I think Roxanne still offers something unique that's not necessarily seen a lot in MCU (or blockbuster films in general) protagonists even today! I tried creating a character I could truly relate to, and if there are any girls or people out there who are more insecure, introverted, sensitive, get attached easily, make an effort to show others a little kindness, and aren't particularly gifted but always try their best for the people they love, I really think Ro is a hero they can see themselves in, and hopefully be inspired by! 😁❤️✨

Oh, and the romance aspect, which I am also a big fan of, certainly doesn't hurt, either. 😉🤭

Overall, developing this story and this character over time has been the most passionate creative project I have done to this date, and despite the hardships and challenges, I continue to have fun with it almost daily. Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention @juliennepearldy, my friend and Sedaverse co-author, since without her help, we wouldn't be writing this story today, and Roxanne would probably have remained one half of a couple of OCxCanon fanarts without Julienne's wonderful ideas! 😊✨

Since this was part of that meme I posted two days ago, I thought might as well show you guys the artwork in all its glory, haha!

This was made last October to celebrate mine and Roxanne's birthday (October 17th), and it's a remake of the first ever artwork of these two that I ever posted publicly, originally from 2019. Original below the cut.

I'm quite proud of my improvement since then, particularly in my anatomy and the way I draw Bucky. I'm glad I used a pose reference this time around, because they definitely look much more in love in the redraw! 🥰

And yes, this is during the Infinity War/Endgame era, since that was the most recent era when I first made the original. I'll provide no further context though, as to not spoil the story too much. 😉🤫
