hey yall it’s merthur fic prompt time

1) a truth spell fic similar to ‘A penny for your thoughts…’ by WanderingScout where one of them is forced to speak all their thoughts aloud without knowing he’s doing it

and/or

2) a truth spell fic where the one cursed knows and tries to prevent himself from speaking

BUT this time?!!? it’s established relationship. so the truth spell doesn’t prompt them to finally get together but something else.

and yes something about this prompt could make for an angsty lil fic where they have relationship problems BUT. i’m thinking more like,,,

newly established relationship shenanigans where they’re learning about each-other on a deeper level. maybe like merlin’s always gotten arthur a specific food cause he knew arthur likes it but arthur’s truth spell reveals he actually hates it and eats it cause merlin went out of his way for him. or arthur always leaves a specific food on his tray if he knows merlin loves it.

OR established relationship and one is planning to propose to the other and the spell reveals his plans but the other goes along with it because omgmyloverwantsmetomarryhimilovehimsomuchyesyesyesyes

idk but i think established relationship merthur truth spell/potion fics should be more of a thing

I need an AU where the witchfinder accuses Morgana of being a sorceress and Arthur defends her. When Uther turns against her Arthur and Merlin prove that Aredian is a fraud but before that Uther yells at Arthur: "Magic is evil"

An Arthur yells back: "It's Morgana! She is good, she is kind even if she had magic she is still herself! "

random druid: emrys literally means immortal lol

arthur + knight: *intimidates random druid so they leave*

merlin: *crashing out and hyperventilating in the corner, staring into space w/ tears streaming down his cheeks*

arthur notices merlin is freaking out and goes to him, also slightly panicking

arthur, holding merlin’s face: what’s wrong?!

merlin, numbly staring into space: i’m going to watch everyone i love die.

I am forever in love with the scene where Merlin kills Agravaine. There's that exact moment (↑) in which he realises he has to do it, that Agravaine has to die, and I love the mixture of regret and badassery as he gets ready to do it. he knows he's the most powerful person in the room and he gives up any pretense otherwise. it's a glimpse into how powerful merlin could be if his magic did not need to be a secret. like, he may not enjoy killing, but he can and will do it.

the magic itself is also the coolest thing ever, so quietly powerful:

merlin, the knights, morgana and gwen regularly get together for game night or whatever and they decide to play “i’ll drink if” (i made it up just now)

i’ll drink if: everyone sits in a circle and you go around and say something starting with “i’ll drink if…” and if that statement applies to someone they have to drink.

ie. i’ll drink if my socks currently have holes in them, i’ll drink if i’ve already showered today, etc etc

(lowkey just never have i ever but tbh the wording of that game confuses me)
