Getting into the flesh pit mall (normally) requires that you pay admission to enter the resort. I think this would kind of deter the goths from loitering, but the allure would eventually become too much to bear.

Much like ski resorts, there's little they can do to stop you from getting in if you avoid the company-built infrastructure. I think that eventually, the kids would band together and jump raw into the main orifice, then try and find one of the hiking trail entrances and work their way backwards into the resort. This would've probably gone Allright the first few times, maybe a couple spooks and scrapes, but everyone ends up ok and they have a fun day loitering and getting free entry to the ballast pools.

But one day, a walkway collapses, and a few kids don't make it to the main exit. Unlike great lake superior, the pit doesn't keep her corpses. Somewhere in the desert outside gumption, the stylishly dressed amalgamation rots away in the heat. It crawled out, but luckily, things from the pit don't tend to do well in direct sunlight.
