My theory as to what this scene means. I believe those that get crushed by a bowling pin will be able to escape the circus, those who got caked will abstract, the reason Kinger catches his ball is because he'll stay in the circus, idk why. So something I don't see people talking about is how for chapters 1-3 Kris would shamble around after ripping us out like they were running on 1% battery with a broken leg, but then when we're in the closet and they're swinging at us with the hockey stick, they are putting their back into those swings and when they're kicking the shit out of the trashcan. Do you know what that means? Kris is moving like a zombie after ripping us out, because they want to.

For me it's a lot on vibe and appearance, but I also have a weird thing where my voice headcannon for a character changes depending on the version of the character. For example Kris in actual deltarune sounds like genderless child from "if undertale was realistic", whereas twin runes Kris sounds like Hunter from TOH

If you're curious Twin runes Frisk and Chara sound like Dipper and Mabel. Frisk being Dipper and Chara being Mabel.
