Tonight russia carried out another terrorist attack on Kyiv, Odesa and other Ukrainian cities, using shahed drones and ballistic missiles. Kyiv alone was attacked with 175 drones and 14 missiles. In total, Ukraine was attacked by more than 440 drones and 32 missiles in one night.

In the video - a shahed drone hits a residential apartment building. (turn on the sound if you want to hear what Ukrainians have been hearing every night for years)

In Kyiv, currently reported 60 injured and 14 killed, but the rescue operation is ongoing.

At the very same time, trump says he refuses to approve additional sanctions on russia, because it costs the US money, and because russia is *this* close to signing a peace deal, obviously.

He and others like him are simply waiting for Ukraine to run out of people and resources for resistance, so they can finally give russia what it wants and continue with business as usual.

While struggling alongside artists of the whole world under the threat of generative AI, we, ukrainian artists, also have to deal with russians threatening our lives with their attacks, destroying our cultural heritage, art schools and now the warehouse of ukrainian office of the largest manufacturer of drawing tablets in the world, Wacom.

Wacom as a company is not ideal and even though I currently don't use their products, I started my digital drawing journey with their Intuos tablet, the tiny pretty blue one that I still have stored in a closet. And a lot of new artists to this day start with their products, and I have friends who wish to buy a Cintiq one day. We still don't know the amount of damage that's been done by this attack, but by the way the whole building was burning probably everything in it was destroyed.

This place has no military significance, it's used to store all the products that artists, designers, photographers and many more people buy and use for creating art, filling this word with beaty.

Art is never apolitical.

Hello everyone. I'm absolutely terrified to open up about this, but I am having surgery on my thyroid to remove a goiter that has become very large / given me problems eating and breathing in general. My ocd is going crazy and catastrophizing;, I have been neglecting my health for five years until I experienced some symptoms that terrified me. My dr. Advised me that I will need two types of surgeons, one an ENT and one a thoracic surgeon. I am going to make a formal fundraiser very soon, but I was informed by my Dr. That the overall cost of this surgery (plus recovery) will be around 700,000 pesos- almost 13,000 usd. That is. My wages of three whole years. I am from the global south, in the philippines, and my wages are far smaller compared to my peers in the global north. My insurance is trying to cover around 40,000-80,000 pesos, I am unsure yet. Right now, I am unable to work all three of my jobs because I needed to do a ton of tests and resting, my new meds making me extremely drowsy as I was also diagnosed with type II diabetes and hypertension (?). I still am the only person in my family who can work- my mother is completely unable to move independently due to nerve damage from sepsis, she is legally blind and a full time wheelchair user. my father is very very immunocompromised due to heart disease and kidney failure, and my younger sister is autistic, with a low frustration threshold. Since Early April, I have had no income as I was in and out of the hospital; thanks to everyone's generous donations for my teeth that I am now allocating for this surgery instead, insurance, and my lovely friend Mango's large donation, I have been able to eat well, and cover about 12%-15% of my upcoming surgery's fund. Am trying to build up more breathing room for my gofundme, as it is common practice for philippine hospitals to prevent patients from leaving without having paid in full. I am humbly begging for everyone to please help me, Because I have not been working and will be unable to work for a couple of weeks. this is the most terrifying thing I have ever gone through, and I have been ignoring it for the past 5 years ♡ if you are blessed with disposable income and a generous heart, please send it my way! sketch redesigns of LI’s from fictif: last legacy (individuals and notes below)

ANISA

I never really liked that Anisa looks like a magical girl rather than the strict but kindhearted soldier she’s written to be. It seems more like her to be practical in her choice of style to allow more movement when fighting (the sheer cloth on the arms looks like it’d get in the way).

For a clearer sense of the ambition and authority she carries the outfit is less casual and more proper/officious —vaguely resembling equestrian uniforms— plus the extra frills exaggerate her shoulders, pronouncing her strength and leadership.

One of the first things said about her is that she’s the secret love child of a tabaxi(?) woman ie Ayanna Anka and the Lord of Shadows; I think they should’ve made her stand out more appearance-wise with that kind of heritage. I had a more intense design in mind when coming up with ideas but I didn’t want to break the believability of her as a tightlaced soldier. I opted to darken the highlights in her hair; make her ears and facial features more cat-like and bestial; make the eyes purple to match her father’s color scheme; and make her tabby stripes more occult looking.

FELIX

I think they really missed the chance to make their spellcaster (a necromancer even)—who has canonically died before multiple times and can see spirits— more interesting.

I wanted to make him look more gaunt and wraithlike, slimming his face and draping him in a ragged dark cloak. I also wanted a higher visual contrast between his upper class background and his living situation (grief/melancholy/too focused on his work to take care of himself): the bottom layers of his outfit are very fine and clean with velvet red and gilded edges, while the top is weather beaten and hangs over him like a shadow.

Lastly, his facial markings are in the shape of a skull and he has a blaze of ghostly white in his hair.

SAGE

It might just be my love of monsters but I’m disappointed that Sage doesn’t look more like a wolf/beast man. As much as I thought to give him a snout along with the fur and digitigrade legs, I didn’t want to break the mold too much and I haven’t drawn enough furries to make it look natural.

One of the main things that bother me with his design is the jacket; it’s too simple and doesn’t exactly scream ‘sexy dangerous’ as his bio says. I added triangles to give him more shape and make him more broad and intimidating.

Also, his midsection with the belts and the random handkerchief confuses me, so I added plate armor to make him look more like a fighter.

More on armor, I removed the ones on his left arm to emphasise the width of his shoulders and made the armor/gauntlet on his right arm more realistic (it also fits his character that he only protects his fighting arm and not the rest of his body).

ELOWEN

— more suitable outfit for stealth and acrobatics

— more practical hairstyle (less chance of it getting in the way when in an updo)

— more tabaxi/catlike features + added a tail (probably should be less floofy but it was funner to draw this way)

LUCAN

— same overall design except for the tacky hair pins, unmatching eye color and the bow on his shoulder

— again, more catlike features

RIME

— i mean, come on. This is even more of a missed opportunity than Felix. This guy died violently, was dead for five years, was summoned back to life through a botched necromantic ritual, and acts as a vengeful ghost tormenting the main character out of jealousy. Why wouldn’t they make him look more interesting??

— along with making him look more like a deer, half his face is now skeletal with necrotic tissue encroaching on the ‘living’/innocent-looking part. Part of his hair is spectral and the fatal wound on his chest never healed so dark magic is all that’s keeping him glued together. His spirit/soul can be seen inside. He can probably hide his undead appearance for the most part with magic, but it’s cooler if the mask slips like this.
