In the talk about being Christ-like it felt like the church was calling out itself. I want to poke fun and say that I’m a better christian than actual self-proclaimed Christians, but I can’t. I don't want to follow everything Jesus taught and there are still some things I want to follow but don’t.
I don’t agree with Jesus when he supports Judaic law, believes the end of the world is imminent, or recommends everyone put the cause before their personal safety, in hope of getting their reward in heaven.
I’d like to support other people but I think I need to learn how to support myself first. I’d like to speak out more for the vulnerable but don’t know how to do it right. I feel like my voice is just noise and I’m just singling myself out as someone to be ignored. I am confused because I don’t know how safe or powerful I really am.
At least I'm not actively promoting misunderstanding or distrust, but that's not good enough. That's just not being horrible. I don't feel good or evil. Just there.

The amount of available footage from The Final Experiment has reached truly absurd levels.

Red Sabine
Sabine Hossenfelder will say she loves capitalism but also complain about financial incentives in research, encourage piracy of scientific journals, and complain about YouTube algorithms.
She also made a song, Trostpreis, which I had interpreted as being an allegorical communist anthem of sorts. To me, the song felt like an half-joking reclamation of the narrative that left-leaning people are just millennials who got participation trophies as a kid and want them again as an adult. There was also a suspicious amount of red background and yellow stars in that video.
It could've been so natural to go down the "Sabine hates capitalism" timeline.

Space company, Axiom Space, is now partnered with an energy gel company, GU Energy Labs. So will astronauts have to eat their energy gels? Will the astronauts have to say a slogan every time before eating it, like in the movie, Spaceman, with Adam Sandler? I don't like this development in this commercialized space travel.
"Bomba is 99.999% effective in killing any and all airborne microbial elements. Even in space, don't let germs ruin your day. Bomba, away!"

Wand fight
The Harry Potter franchise may have become an absolute trash-fire, but if we get anymore fantastic beast movies, can we at least get this dialogue in the final duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald:
Grindelwald: It's no use, Dumbledore. My wand is the more powerful than yours!
Dumbledore: Haven't I taught you anything? It's not the power of the wand, but what you do with it that matters.

Plato's symposium:
A bunch of philosophers gather to talk about love and romance but it turns into a circle-jerk about how great philosophy is.
Keep in mind that unlike physical circle-jerking, intellectual circle-jerking is the highest form of circle-jerking.

Clip length frustration
I have such a hard time editing down clips to a good length when making videos. I'm afraid of lowering the value of my videos by shortening them, but in reality shortening the clips in a smart way should increase their value.
When I use clips for informative videos I'm afraid that people will say I took stuff out of context, so I'm tempted to use a bit of irrelevant footage on either side of the clip to prove that context doesn't change things. But that irrelevant information may be confusing and frustrate people who want to get straight to the point.
When I use clips for YTPs I feel like I need to maintain a nontemporal edit for such a long period of time so that if anyone likes my edit they don't have to recreate it just to get the same edit for a longer duration of the clip.
But all this unnecessary footage is probably ruining retention and weakening my argument for fair use. How do y'all cope?
I keep thinking it would help ease my worries to put my tools and sources in the description or in the video itself because it could help people recreate what I made or check the sources for themselves if they're being honest about their fears of clips being out of context. But I have such a hard time organizing things. Dealing with citations and credits is its own worry. My credits in the past have been an inconsistent mess with holes.

Lol. Elon Musk is trying so hard to push a conspiracy theory about secret service complacency in Trump's assassination. And Trump is not taking the bait.

I don't get people talking about reparations for black people as if they government will take stuff away from everyday white people. Isn't there enough rich people for everyone to eat?

I've been reminiscing about seminary and the things that convinced me of their willful ignorance.
There was one time they brought in people for us to ask questions to. I wrote down questions about intersex people. Asking if there were intersex people married in the temple. Saying that some people went their whole lives without knowing they had an intersex condition. So couldn't people have been married in the temple that by some people's definition of sex would've been a gay marriage. I asked how they could draw the line between gay and straight marriage when intersex people existed.
I was disappointed by the same schpiel about it being rare and a disorder, how someone in that position should seek personal revelation before getting married. They didn't have a real answer. They had said something about how I should seek personal revelation if I myself had the condition. And then I felt like everyone was looking at me like a freak for possibly being intersex or for even bringing up such a question.
There was another time when I heard that Spencer W. Kimball said some terrible things about gay people, which were written in The Teaching of Spencer W. Kimball. I wanted to see an official physical copy of the book myself to see if it was real. So I asked people at Seminary if they had a copy of the book. They had such disdain for me, not wanting to lend me the book, asking what I wanted to use it for. It only made me more suspicious and wanting to read it. My freshman Seminary teacher was nice and let me see a copy during lunch. And later I found the book on archive.org. All the filth that people said Kimball said was real.
There was a time when the people at Seminary made us take some kind of multiple choice test. One of the questions was about the requirements for temple marriage. One answer was about being legally married and another answer was about people loving each other. Apparently getting legally married was the "right answer". I was so angry. I was telling someone that it was unfair if anyone lived in a religiously oppressive country. I wrote my complaints all over the test paper only to realize it was a test sheet meant to be read by a computer. Only the filled in circles would matter and they would be sent to someone above in leadership. And now I had more reasons to doubt the authenticity of prophetic revelation if they were gathering test answers that were basically polls about the youth's opinions about doctrine. I hope all the people answering that happiness is what's necessary for marriage actually convinces the prophets to change their teachings and not just double-down on legality as a requirement for marriage.

Apparently in Idaho, someone can be whipping me with my permission no problem but then it magically becomes sado-masochistic abuse if me or them puts on a mask.

The government is run by idiotic prudes.
The law is about media available to minors. Wouldn't this law also outlaw giving a child a history book that happens to include an illustration of slaves being whipped while restrained? Wouldn't this prohibit giving kids any material depicting Jesus being flagellated or hung on the cross while being barely clothed, wearing that bizarre crown of thorns, while being restrained by soldiers or nails of the cross?

Talking to ghosts of the living from the future
I remember imagining myself being watched by ghosts from the future.
People would sometimes say spirits of dead relatives were watching us. I imagined that once we got to heaven, we could watch each-other's lives like a movie. Everything was recorded in a book of life that could be watched and heard and perhaps experienced in more ways by our friends and family in heaven.
I also remember seeing a Mormon video about chastity saying you shouldn't do anything you wouldn't want your parents watching. Which even as a believer I thought was dumb because different parents could have different standards, and just because it makes you uncomfortable for someone to watch you do something doesn't mean the watcher thinks it's wrong. I wouldn't want my mom watching me shower and she doesn't either but she sure wants me to shower anyway.
I also heard of people becoming Gods in heaven, I imagined that meant they'd be able to transcend time so it would be as if they're right here watching me in real time. There were future ghosts of all the people I knew who could be listening to me. It was a bit of a mystery to me if they needed permission. I suppose if they were respectful they'd only watch with my future self's permission. But I guess it wouldn't have mattered too much because timeless ghosts of people I knew from the future wouldn't judge me because they'd actually have the time to learn and understand what I was going through rather than using their short mortal window of time to judge me. They would be omniscient spirits who had seen it all. There could be no enraging shock from them. I could have a non-judgmental ghost therapist who just listens to me rant. I could say things to these ghosts from the future by just thinking the words in my head. I'd pick kind strangers and friends I'd never see again, in my head to talk to the future ghosts of. It was me fantasizing idealized versions of people to talk to. I suppose it was a bit like praying to Saints. It was much easier than praying to God because it was more casual. Less feeling of inferiority and unfamiliarity.
Wonder if this could be a premise of a book. Perhaps being haunted by the future ghost of a crush. Maybe it could be ambiguous if the ghost is real. It'd be somewhere between Truman Show, Donnie Darko. and the Slipknot songs, Vermillion and Vermillion Pt 2. It'd be nice for it to have the thoughtfulness of the book Things not Seen by Andrew Clements. But I could also see things go terribly wrong in a more horror direction. Perhaps the ghost is a ghost from another timeline that has been closed off from opportunities missed. Perhaps the ghost is trying to create the timeline where she exists as the main character's partner. Perhaps she is accidentally stopping her current self from existing, by giving the main character an alternative idealized version to love instead of giving the character the confidence to love the living version of her. Then the main character loses resolve to love the living her but ends up risking losing his chances and losing the real her and the ghost her at the same time when the timeline is rewritten. Perhaps the main character goes the stalker route or become really possessive because of his surety of getting the relationship existing in the future. Such a creepy premise.
