Lost my mother one year ago today, right about this time in the afternoon. I'm so lucky and grateful to have been by her side, to say goodbye for the several days leading up to her passing. She was a fighter, with such a strong heart. I cannot believe it has been a year. Still feels like yesterday, and other times, like a strange eternity. I still wake up some mornings thinking she is alive, especially after a frequent, vivid dream where we are hanging out. All too real. In that way, I still feel so close to her, but my heart still aches a ton, and I wish I could say the sadness and pain has begun to go away. I miss her so very much.
