Zombie Boy

In a small village, a baby boy was born. He had pale skin and large eyes.

While raising the boy, his mother naturally came to the realization.

That he had no feelings whatsoever. All he had was the desire to eat, like a zombie.

So his mother locked him up in the basement so that the villagers wouldn't see him. And every night, she stole livestock from her neighbors to feed him as she raised him in secret.

A number of years passed like that. Then one day, an epidemic broke out. It left the remaining animals dead, and also killed many people. Those who survived the epidemic left the village.

But the mother couldn't leave her son all alone. And to appease her son crying of hunger, she cut off one leg of hers and gave it to him. After that, it was her arm. She gave him everything.

When she was left with nothing but her torso, she embraced her son for the last time to let him devour what was left of her.

With his both arms, the boy tightly held his mother’s body and spoke for the first time in his life, “Mom, you’re really warm.”

What did the boy really want? Satiating his hunger? Or feeling his mother’s warmth?

1. While You Were Sleeping

You can never say no to a lee jung suk and bae suzy casting kdrama. plus, the adorable jung hae in, boyyy i was sold

This has a really good plot. A balance between fantasy/crime/suspense/romance/comedy, this was cute and hilarious but the kind that did not ruin the story, this was even polished and decent til the end.

2. What's Wrong With Secretary Kim

This was also a perfect casting. A light plot everyone could tolerate bcos it didn't have soo much drama. The literal RomCom that was made to entertain every audience. It was too good to be true and a bit stupid story actually but who cares if one second you're head over heels in love with the two and then laughing your lungs out next.

3. Something In The Rain

This got my attention first because i cudn't get enough of jung hae in, i wanted him to have his own lead after While You Were Sleeping. He's so cute and he reminds me of Kim Soo Hyun (which i badly miss 😭)

This is a melodrama, a taboo story (you shud know by now I am such a sucker for taboo stories haha). I love how realistic this was, I love the issues that were tackled, the pace was a bit slow but it was made just right for the story. And of course they had the best sound track! The old slow songs and Rachel Yamagata's soft soothing vocals. I have them all replayed for soo many months.

4. The Smile Has Left Your Eyes

This was a really hunting story. A crime thriller with a bit of romance/melodrama. This was highky confusing I did not know where the story was going or what was it's intention. This had me guessing even almost until the end. I highly don't reccoment this to anyone with PTSD, and to anyone who gets annoyed to a story thay is brought about by a horrible past being replayed over and over again every damn episode.

5. This Is My First Life

This one has a really catchy plot, and i find the two lead as such a cute good pair. My least favorite bcos I was really waiting for the two to have that really good kind of romance but idk, it was a happy ending but i never had enough.

These are the only films i finished watching last year, I may have watched more but i did not finish them. And I may have forced my self to watch on one of these.

1. SONGWRITER / An Ed Sheeran documentary

of course it's teddy! I watched this a couple of times and this was amaaazing! this is a documentary film made by ed's cousin murray (who is actually a good looking white man). This was mostly about how Ed made each track of his album Divide, the people behind each track, and couple other song's he's written and given to other artists as well. This made me realize how every track should be protected and be bought in a legal manner because a lot of people is involved, worked hard to deliver that certain piece for us to listen to.

favorite part: Ed and Cherry moments, and when Ed was writing Love Yourself, Ed cussing. Haha cute really (sorry!)

Made me cry part: Every word he has said to the kids of the school he went to, it was just so inspiring and so powerful and amazing how he ever come up with such thought. And that part when he made his dad listen to his song Supermarket Flowers. 😭😭😫

2. BABY DRIVER / Ansel Elgort & Lily James

One night I cudn't sleep and randomly lurked at my sisters laptop and happen to see Ansel on the picture display, so i watched it and wow. I genuinely loved it! probably bcos it played music from the start until the end and bcos they were really good songs, most I replayed for a month. The plot wasn't bad as well, I did not cry or nor did feel sad after watching but it was good i thought it was fast and i wanted more when it ended.

3. OUR TIMES / Taiwanese movie

This is another random movie we watched at work, halfway we had to stop bcos of work ofc so i finished it at home. This was romcom/sappy film. Super funny, in a Meteor Garden-ish setting. I actually love the most was the ending. There were 2 major cameo roles in the end and if your a fan Meteor Garden and Fated To Love You, you will surely love the ending too! (no spoiler yes!)

4. A Star Is Born / Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper

When I first saw the trailer of this film I quickly vowed I'd be watching this, so I did, in an actual cinema. I really highly anticipated this one and even thought the premiere date was way too far so while waiting I listened to the official soundtrack over and over again. I was the kind of warrior really fully geared for a war except i did not read the synopsis! Haha I was expecting this to be a sappy unrequited love romance film but it wasn't! This was about mental health, that not even the person you love can save you from yourself. The ending struck me so much it made me cry.

Shallow won in Golden Globes btw, congrats Gaga and Cooper! 😍

5. To All The Boys I've Loved Before / Netflix Film

This is the review i hate to do. This is full of resentment and disapproval. So if you loved this film, stop reading. I have warned you.

Let's start this off with the fact that I have read the book series To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han, in fact i have the three books and love them dearly. I was one of those who went euphoric when the news came about the film adaptation, i have actual friends who loved the book as well and can still remember how excited we were, talking about the good news. Well, until the trailer came in. It started then, that my favorite fiction characters died along with the film.

I vowed i will never watched this movie, until everyone on social media were talking about it so I man up and watched for the sake to be objective. And who knows maybe there'd be miracle! Haha (yep, i was that patient)

I was never wrong, it was awful!

What went wrong: The wrong choice of artists. Lara Jean was half Korean, and the artist they chose was Half Vietnamese (atleast Asian-American? That does not do well with the plot, the artist acted like she was half korean, which is wrong. We keep giving all the non-asian audiences the chance to misidentify asians like they are all the same).

The Song sisters were meeh, the only artist that sort of fit was Kitty's. Margo's was way too old (which made her character impossibly immature) and the three of them just literally don't look like each other. How the fuck did they not notice it? And let's get back to Lara Jean, Lara Jean was freaking warm, cute and pretty, the one on this film looked like Charice Pempengco I cringe the whole time I was watching.

Top 5 Books

2018 has been a tough reading year for me, aside from the heavy schedule and a mind that was everywhere, i have read few and haven't even met half of my goodreads #2018bookreadingchallenge There was even a moment when i was opening a lot of books reading the same time and putting them down all, i was that distracted, but despite of being on that state i'm happy I came across these 5 books. 😊😊

1. All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover //

Romance.

A story of a married couple and how they struggle trying to conceive, it's a past and current setting that will make you fall in love and will make you cry, man i ugly cried over this. There was never a dull chapter, you know colleen.

2. You by Caroline Kepnes //

Psycho/Thriller/Romance. Also the #YOUonNetflix

Remember Behind Her Eyes last year? this year it's this one! You was my first 5 star read this year and I absolutely recommend this to everyone bcos this was genius, well written, clever. I don't love thrillers right away, I mean it takes me atleast a couple of chapters to like one but this hooked me from the very first page!

Hey, also watch the series! Season 1 is already streaming on Netflix and i love it as well, it was made just as how it was on the book, and joe goldberg is freaking hot! 😍😂 (sorry that wasn't quick)

3. War Storm by Victoria Aveyard //

Fantasy Fiction. Kingdoms. Power. Politics. Romance.

This was the 4th and last book of Red Queen series, my life saver bcos I never thought this book was coming and the last book (King's Cage) was terrible i threw my iPad accross the room after reading. I took the longest time i can reading this one, it made me cry and i wish it never ended.

4. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake //

Fantasy. Young Adult.

Have you heard of dark pop, synth pop music? I love that genre, Banks, Verite, Allie X are some of the queens on that. Whilst here in this book there are 3 queens who are fighting for the crown. I love the plot it self and how it flowed with in the story, the angst of the characters, and how stupid and assholes the men characters are (as how they are in real life) and how woman stand on their grown despite men being 'natural' as they are. The ending was a total bang. and cliffhanger, ofc.

5. Fen by Daisy Johnson //

Fantasy. Fiction. Magical realism

This is one genre i haven't read before. Reading this felt like reading a poem, words perfectly blending flowing until the end. The story, never mind! Haha This was chaotic I did not understand the ridiculous things happening, it was actually very weird but idk why i loved and felt good reading this. I have marked a lot of good phrases inside this book.

Me, my brother and nephew were talking tonight about my brother's run, winning 1st out of hundreds of runners.

My brother was talking to the kid, ej about techniques and best hacks. He said mostly these words.

keep on running no matter how much you think you can no longer run

what makes a runner stop is their fear (mind, miding the body) for pain, and the rest of the overwhelming feeling of exhaustion, and the thought that he could die next. the thought.

you need to feel all the pain your body's possible to feel

you need to recognize, memorize, keep all of those pain in your body and mind's memory

when you have reached your most limit, you will now have your basis of pain (to please your mind).

you have your pain reference in your memory, which one is bearable, bitter sweet, and near-death.

fear of pain will no longer stop you, because now you know them. each pain.

then, you can run wild. run free.

I've never had such random deep conversation in our family in a while.

He was talking about running, but all I was thinking about how those are perfect love and life hacks as well.
