First, I would look into spirit flight in general. Astral projection is similar, but it involves going to a very different place, and some people use the terms interchangeably when they mean they want to practice spirit flight. Practice spirit flight around familiar places, then practice going to the Otherworld, and then practice entering astral realms. A good beginner’s book with the practice discussed is Folk Witchcraft by Roger J. Horne, and he supplies further references for the seeker to read.

Do you have any advice on constructing a ritual to make spirit presences more palpable?

Not exactly. You can create a ritual space and call the spirits into it, if you do it properly and safely, and attempt to communicate with them and interact with them there. When it comes to seeing and hearing spirits in general, that takes practice and discernment. There is a pentacle in the Greater Key that forces spirits to reveal themselves, however I’ve had poor results despite following the instructions; perhaps it’s that it won’t reveal them more than I’ve already had them revealed. It’s still worth a try as others have found success.

Do you conjure spirit companions for people?

Not really; I wouldn’t call them spirit companions. It’s not the same as what you see around Tumblr, which is a one part of why I took my practice away from it. I no longer really want to be framed in that way by people here, since it’s not accurate. However, I do conjure spirits, and I do bind spirits.

As a result of leaving, I no longer offer access to a store or services through Tumblr. I do however offer other services involving runes and Latin, which you can see on my blog.

Then I’ll do it up nice and sharply in Photoshop in high resolution, in exchange for a “pay what you want/can” fee. Basically, you look at it, you decide what you want to give me. They are simple designs like this one here.

English-to-Latin Translations: Up to 10 post-translation words, it’s free (and frankly, right now, I’m hoping for a “pay what you want/can/leave a tip). After that, there are small charges. Please see this post for additional details. I will translate things short and long. Even super long. Not a lot of demand for this, but no reason I can’t put it out there!
