Professor Polite

Dr. Lucius Titus, a renowned professor, sits in his study. As always, the doctor was hard at work on his next lesson. His hair wasn't a mess, and he always seemed to be in his handsome three-piece suit. Like his appearance, he was well put together; it was well known that Dr. Titus was polite to everyone, as he hated rude people. He never had a problem talking to students or colleagues; it was as if he had a talent for it. It was as if they were all drawn to the doctor. Dr. Lucius was well-liked, but he was close to only one person: his husband. He's always dressed to the nines, the sole heir to his family's old fortune. For all Lucius's charm, there was one thing people couldn't forget, and that was the look in his eyes. It was as if he looked down on everyone, and it wasn't because of his height. There was another thing about his eyes that people found strange, it was almost as if they looked dead when he wasn't talking to someone. His eyes said more about him than anything you could tell by talking to him. It was almost like a warning to stay away. Dr. Titus was a man who seemed perfect from a distance, but once you got close to him, it was as if you could see through the human suit that the doctor wore every day, but the only person who seemed to know was his husband, or at least the only one who stayed close to him. However, those who were close to the doctor all seemed to be "leaving for better opportunities" or something to that effect. Even if Lucius had no loved ones, he was still a well-spoken social butterfly. When people talked to Dr. Titus, it was as if the man knew something they didn't, he had a condescending smile when he talked about the trips he was taking. It was as if he were leaving out something they should never know. Lucius knew more than the people around him, but it was something he'd never say, he couldn't tell people, not without the consequences of what he'd done in the past, his actions had changed him in ways everyone could see, but could never really know what had happened.
