Female Harry Potter. That would be a COMPLETELY different character, y'all. Other characters can gender-swap with less issue, but Harry cannot. Trans mtf Harry is fine, but born female gives me hives.
Fanfic tropes I do not like, in no particular order:
Obi-Wan is perfect and awesome, and Anakin just needs to know his backstory for everything to turn out fine.
Reader inserts. Every now and then, in the right mood, if the fic is written well and the wind is blowing the right direction, maybe.
An OC as the main character changes the entire plot of canon.
Anakin Skywalker is nothing but an evil, whiny brat. There was this one where Owen Lars gets stuck in a timeloop, and tiny, slave-Ani throws temper tantrums that kill people, and I HATE it.
Wanda Maximoff is a good person, actually. I don't know why, I just can't forgive her like I can the violent men. Maybe it's just my Team Iron Man fic reading bias.
Luke "I saved my dad with the power of love" Skywalker telling a toddler to choose between being in a family or becoming a monk. No, that wasn't canon, that was a fanfic, bite me.
I can stand whump, sometimes. My capacity for it is small. Hurt, no comfort is bad, but Dead Dove is fine. Yes, I have problems.
Maybe I'll add more to the list later.

The main reason I am anti-Obikin is because then Luke wouldn’t exist. Unless it's ABO. And if it is, Anakin better be the Omega.

Fun headcanons I have stolen from fics I've read:
Palpatine/Sidious is a speed junky, and he's a worse pilot than Anakin. He totally gets road rage.
Vader sleeps during meetings. This may be the only time he gets sleep.
Batman thought Red Hood would dodge The Batarang (tm). Jason trusted his dad not to go for a kill shot. Tragedy ensued.

I'm coming off a month's long...thing. I have not gone to therapy, so I can't call it a depressive episode, but I'm not sure what else to label it.
I read and read and readandread because when I'm reading, I can just. Not exist. If "I think; therefor, I am" then while I'm reading, that story is the real world, and I'm an observer, not a person.
I'm starting to like myself again, so I'm starting to write again. It's weird. I've never registered my, um, obsessive reading tendencies as a coping mechanism before. I don't know how to feel about this.

Up until now, I took myself out of my life because I thought it was best for you. I'm starting to realize that's your decision to make.
You.
Yes, you.
If you're seeing this, I'm terrified you'll have an opinion in my direction.

I am over 200 pages into AO3 works containing Jason Todd as a named character, sorted by kudos. No, I'm not reading all of them, I'm not THAT much of a shut-in. I've also learned the lesson to exclude Danny Phantom and Miraculous Ladybug crossovers.
Anyway, seems like most of them are about Tim. Or batfam fluff/shenanigans/feels. I should really find a new tag to look through for better BAMF Jason content. I am here for the guns and the moral complications and the "my world was shattered, so I'm going to make it everyone else's problem" Energy.
Tim Drake seems to hold a similar fandom niche as Tony Stark. Rich? Can easily project parental abandonment/neglect onto them? Smart, possibly genius? For some reason easy for the others in their family to overlook and underappreciate?
So, yeah. I've been skipping the ones with summaries that seem Tim focused. If I wanted that, I'd go back to MCU stuff.

My problems with (various types of) comics:
I'm sort of face-blind, so when two different artists in two different styles tell me this is Bucky Barnes wearing something different, I just have to believe them. "Who the hell is Bucky?" didn't hit right with me. Same problem with Jason Todd. Like, okay, I guess I believe you, but where's the white stripe?
Line art / black and white / manga style confuses me. If I stare at it long enough, I'll get it, but staring at a single panel for so long seems counterproductive. Colors give me context.
Timelines? When is this happening? Has Luke lost his hand, yet? No? Does Vader know he's his son, yet? Maybe? Where do the Darth Vader and Rebels comics cross over, or do they ever?
Speaking of Vader, the visual medium robs him of both tone and facial expressions, and I can not understand him. Maybe body language, too. I haven't gotten far in The Red Hood and The Outlaws webtoon, but yeah, the helmet gives me this problem, too. When did he start crying? Why? I am the confusion.
If I want to read the full story of one character, I have to jump from series to series. Boba Fett is in the rebels comics, the bounty hunter comics, and shows up in the Vader comics. This goes with my timeline gripe.
I understand fanservice, but do you really expect me to see these noodle armed ladies with back-breaking breasts as badass? Why does every female in every webtoon have the same body shape? Why are all the protag males the lithe, pretty-boy type?
Yeah, I guess I'm just not a visual media enthusiast.

Bruce Wayne is 17 years older than Dick Grayson. Obi-Wan Kenobi is 16 years older than Anakin Skywalker.
One of these ships is common in its fandom, and the other evokes "ew, no, that's his Dad!"
...I'll admit my sample bias. I'll read all the Star Wars fics that aren't related to the Sequels, but I only read DC fics that tag Jason Todd.
But, still. What's the difference? Bruce has Dad Energy and Obi-Wan has Daddy Vibes? Dick has siblings to dote on and Anakin is ultimate only child? One setting is more real-world adjacent than the other? The Force works in mysterious ways? Anakin's a Twunk (but so is Dick?)? Dick actually has male friends his age to ship him with? (Dick has friends, period?)
If I actually had a platform, I'd make this a poll.

Fanfic tropes I like to read, in (more or less) chronological order:
The Winter Soldier being badass and also a kicked puppy. Preferably with less Captain America, but Steve is okay.
Harry Potter / Tom Riddle. Preferably with a sane Voldemort.
Harry Potter crossovers, with actual Harry Potter in them. All the crossovers. I even read several Supernatural crossovers, and I barely even know that fandom. (Can't bring myself to cross the line to Twilight, though)
My Hero Acadamia, but All For One is Izuku's father. Like, the entire spectrum from angst to fluff, so long as the whump isn't too bad.
Hellsing. Badass, violent as fuck Alucard. Not to be confused with Castlevania.
Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, father and sonboy times. Again, entire spectrum, and that spectrum is huge.
Anything to do with Luke that doesn't turn him into what Disney wants him to be. No hobo-milk-guzzler or oh-so-wise-but-distant 28 year old. Ew. Farmboy-Jedi, for the win.
Anakin "walking disaster" Skywalker, affectionate or violent, just not derogatory. Preferably less Obikin than the fandom seems to enjoy because I dislike movie Obi-Wan. Darth Disaster is also good, especially when he's raised as a Sith.
Time travel. All the time travel. Especially Luke back in the clone wars or Harry back in the 40s. (About here is where I realized Bookmarks was a thing for AO3, so I had to go back and find fics from previous categories)
Soulmate identifying marks in all previously mentioned fandoms and possibly others if I vaguely know the characters involved. (There was one Full Metal Alchemist thing that was a modern AU and just, hilarious)
An occasional dabble into Omniscient Reader, unOrdinary, or Castlevania.
Did I mention time travel?
And now, apparently, I have found Jason Todd. Help.
