Life and Death in the Family - Come Marching Home

Hi guys, guess who posted an aangsty (yes, the typo was on purpose) one-shot? I did!

The book is called Life and Death in the Family and the one-shot title is “Come Marching Home”.

The book will be a bunch of one-shots of characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra being born and dying 😀👍🏼. “Come Marching Home” is about (can you guess?) Iroh dying. The one-shot takes place during his funeral and is Zuko-centric.

Because I’m feeling nice, here’s an excerpt of “Come Marching Home” (some things have been altered from its original publication to avoid “spoilers” for the one-shot. If you’d like to read the full thing, links to read it will be towards the end of the post.):

Zuko turns around to address his friends and family. He pulls out a piece of washi from his netsuke and clears his suddenly dry throat before he starts speaking. "Thank you all for coming. I know that my uncle would've loved to know that he was so popular," he says with an awkward laugh. "We are here to remember the life of a man who has impacted all of our lives. Iroh was a lot of things to a lot of people. He is..."

Zuko stops speaking entirely and looks at the faces that are starting to blend together. He didn't mean to say that. He's trying so desperately to keep his tears inside, but his already impaired vision is becoming blurry. Aang opens his mouth to say something, but the Fire Lord takes a shaky breath and plows through his misspeak. "He was a great man," he corrects himself.

He takes a deep breath and continues with his uncle's eulogy.

I had a lot of fun writing this and I hope you guys will check it out. If you do, constructive criticism is welcome!

Monster High Facts, Theories, & Headcanons

Does anyone here have or know any unpopular or not well-known headcanons, theories, and/or facts about the Monster High characters or the lore? For research purposes that I may or may not use in a fanfiction/story.

Teeth

Hey everyone, I just posted a one-shot on my Archive of Our Own, Wattpad, and fanfiction.net accounts. The story is called Teeth, and it’s a Mina Ashido centric fanfiction. For those of you who don’t know, she is a character from My Hero Academia/Boku no Hero Academia.

I got inspired to write this one-shot after watching a choreographed video of Lady Gaga’s song, Teeth.

It was originally supposed to be part of a connected group of drabbles/one-shots, but the final result didn’t work with what I wanted for the overall story. But, I then realized that I can post it as a one-shot, especially since it’s not part of the MANY one-shot compilations I have in the works.

CONTROVERSIAL OPINION #3

Writers may write for themselves because the story idea excites them, but they post because they’re excited to share with you.

If readers don’t reciprocate that excitement after reading, then writers will keep the joy of writing for themselves.

9-1-1 Theory

Alright, so I’ve had this theory in mind for a while now and I thought I’d share it. So we know Maddie is pregnant, that’s all cool, but does anyone else think there’s a possibility she may have postpartum depression? I’m not saying she is for sure, but there’s a possibility that she might have that.

I don’t know if the writers thought of that or are gonna include it, but I think that would be an awesome thing to include. Personally, I only know so much about it, but I think it’d be beneficial for people to see it being properly depicted on screen. Especially since there are many women who do have postpartum depression after having kids. And it’s not something to fear or look down upon, it’s completely normal and it’s okay.

I don’t know, that was just a thought I had. But I would actually like to see that in the show though after Maddie does have the baby.

I’m almost positive that Judd and Grace have... “experimented” with dom/sub before. And Grace has almost always been the dom and Judd LOVES IT. No I will not be taking requests, thank you very much. (I may or may not play with this idea for a fanfic because I’m obsessed now.)

9-1-1: Lone Star 2x4 Head Canon

I don’t know about you guys, but after yesterday’s episode, I’m starting to think that Mateo has some abandonment issues. I don’t mean it negatively, but it’s just something I’ve noticed. I want the writers to expand upon that more because if not then eventually it’s gonna incorporate into a fanfiction. It will remain my personal head canon for Mateo until further notice.
