Ayo calling all history nerds and ex-countryhumans fandom kids!

I had an assignment in history last year that recently inspired me to imagine a world where instead of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics collapsing relatively peacefully, theres a civil war instead wherein the republics of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova break away, and form a coalition with Romania and Poland called the Free State Brotherhood under the Kyïv Accord. They ultimately are surrounded by the eastern bloc under the Volgograd Pact as the Russia (still ran by the Soviets) takes over the surrounding governments with Serbia and establish puppet governments in the surrounding countries. Though in reality the Volgograd States and the states of New Yugoslavia function essentially as provinces directly under Moskow and Budapest respectively. The only truly Neutral nation not aligned with any of the factions is Georgia, who fiercely defend their territory but are weakened after the loss of Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Russian Occupation. Ultimately the borders roughly settle along the lines seen in the map, with notable exceptions in and around any region in red. While the new cold war wages on the west tries to subtly support the Free State Brotherhood, and there’s also drama between the Countryhumans who represent them 👀

Ukraine is trying to escape a physically/sexually abusive relationship with Russia when the USSR collapses, and he finds solace in Romania and Moldova who are lovers reunited by their freedom, the situation is complicated because Romania falls for Ukraine first and Ukraine falls too, but tries to distance himself from Romania bc he already has Moldova in Ukraines eyes, Moldova also gets jealous, but eventually the 3 of them fall in love together and end up a Polycule

Ukraine is frequently haunted by ptsd and can be cold at times, Romania is Romani and tries his best to be a caretaker for his lovers, Moldova is bubbly and relaxed. They also all smoke weed, why? Because i say so.

Ukraine and Moldova also have moments where they will loose control and turn red, becoming violent and self destructive, this is because they both have Russian Occupation, because Russia has partial control over their territory it causes them to occasionally lose themselves to his influence

On September 11th 1973, US-backed General Pinochet overthrew the democratically elected leader of Chile, Salvadore Allende. Pinochet ordered an air strike on the Presidential Palace, labor activists and famous folk guitarists were rounded up for torture, disappeared, and killed. Pinochet converted the national football stadium into a detention facility like Guantanamo Bay. Chile’s economy was turned into a plantation for the 1%, as inequality and poverty skyrocketed under the imposed Milton Friedman-style economic model. Over 40,000 Chileans became victims of Pinochet’s terror. In response, the Nixon administration committed more money, more training, more torture equipment. The world didn’t begin on September 11th, 2001. Rather, for the first time in modern history, Americans were visited by the same violence the US has imposed since its creation. In Chile, the US murdered tens of thousands and impoverished millions. This wasn’t America’s first foray in international terrorism, nor would it be the last. The United States security state is a terrorist and a plague on the people of the world.
