Oregon is a pretty quiet state as far as appearing in national headlines goes. It’s really not known for much else aside from the abundance of forest and hippies, and it being the birthplace of Nike. So naturally when it does appear in the news I LOSE MY SHIT I get so excited! The last time I heard Oregon mentioned on the national level was while listening to a The…

I’ve always disliked the Bay Area. I’m not sure whether to peg it on the endless urban sprawl, the necessity for car oriented transit, or the temperature, but I’ve always felt a little put off by the bay. But having spent a number of months here with my family during COVID-19 I’ve come to see a completely different side of the Bay.
Just beyond the mountains on either side of the bay it’s a whole new world. You can no longer hear the blaring of car horns or rumble of planes, the air appears to be more clear, flora more abundant and uncontrolled, and there are REAL WILD ANIMALS (squirrels not included, they’re all over the place). While the abundant urban development is exhausting, I’ve started to appreciate the bay for its proximity and clear separation from the nature beyond the mountain ridge. These pictures were taken during my one of my recent evening hikes with my mom.

MARIN HEADLANDS, CA
Okay, so I’ve said in at least three posts in recent years that I was coming back. I hope you’ve been waiting cause here I am! I’ve graduated from Architecture school in Oregon and am finally finding time to focus on myself and my passions–among them, photography and writing! It’s nice to be back.
I’ve been between California and Oregon this summer just waiting out the storm. While down here…

SEA-TO-SKY
There aren’t many places in the States that you’re within two hours’ drive from either the snowy mountains and the warm ocean. Truly grateful for Oregon and all of its beauty! Pack your jammers and your skis!
Featured here: Florence and Hoodoo Ski Area, both in Oregon.

A CHANGE IN PERSPECTIVE Funny how something as simple as reorienting a picture can change its meaning altogether.

THOR’S WELL
No Chris Hemsworth, just a big hole in the ground with lots of water in it. What a beautiful hike on the Oregon coast though!

A WEEKEND IN VIENNA (again)
Because I have family in Vienna, it’s kind of the go-to destination for me if I’m ever in the area. I’m interning in London for part of the summer, and as a first weekend getaway, guess where I decided to go. You’ll never guess… Here are some iPhone snaps from getting almost hopelessly lost in the city.

TO GOING HOME SOON
Because I just found out that I might be returning to Singapore this summer, and because I just found these photos on my desktop. Here’s a short list of things I’m looking forward to when returning home…
(these pictures were taken right after I bought my new Nikon D700, so these were test shots, unedited)

Just realized there’s nothing on my blog about my time in Shanghai this summer. Oops… Right over my head. I’ll get those pics up, but for now, here’s this sneak peek!

PRAGUE-TICALLY HEAVEN
Our week in Prague this summer was probably as amazing as any idealistic travel agency could have made it seem, if not better. The weather, the amount of tourists, the group we were with, everything just clicked into place and our time there was 11/10. :)

WINTER IS COMING
–OH and it’s coming fast. Eugene has been crazy dark and cold lately and luckily we just happened to catch the last bit of warm sunlight before the black out for the next month. Glad I had my camera on me, we really made the most of it, I feel. :)
