BTVS Jewellery Collectables
I am looking to buy necklaces from the BTVS jewellery collectables for a friends birthday. She's a huge fan, and a resold original or a replicas would be such a special gift. If anyone is selling, knows someone or has some advice for looking, it would be appreciated, thanks.

Rant about sexual ambiguity in hollywood.
Why is it so bad to assume someone's sexuality? If it's just based on a stereotype, I get how 5 tired, but it's not some horrible thing for someone to ask or assume someone is gay. I feel like in the 2010s, there was more of a push to not assume people are straight and have LGBT+ actors in LGBT+ roles, so what happened?
Nowadays, everything is so ambiguous, and discussing sexuality is like walking on eggshells. Reflecting on different situations like Kit Connor, it makes sense for people to be weary, but asking or incorrectly assuming isn't the same as stalking, harrassing, and bombarding someone to figure out their sexuality. Lines have definitely been crossed in the past, but that doesn't mean that we should go to the opposite direction where being explicitly lesbian, gay, or bisexual feels rarer than it was a few years back. I'm in no way saying people have to come out and label themselves. If someone isnt interested in having that convo it should be respected, but you're either with the lgbt+ community or you're not and if you're not willing to publicly stand as one of us then why are you taking roles from people who are?
It takes so much to come out, let alone come out at such a large scale, and starting out actors are still punished for being visibly or loudly gay. Most of the up and coming under 25 gay hollywood actors are ambiguously queer or their public dating history is straight. THIS IS NOT BAD! I need everyone to understand I'm not mad at the individuals. I just wish that we were progressing more from the 2010s and that more people were able to find success. Maybe I'm too naive for looking to mainstream western media for representation and it will always go back and forth between appearing to progress and then regressing again but a dyke can dream.
This is probably a wasted thought with the rise of the far right globally and trumps impact on culture and media. Like there are plenty of scarier issues facing LGBT+ Americans and my heart goes out to you all.

Helen Norville - A Woman Who Can Laugh! Even at herself! 😉
.
.
Who else cannot stop smiling watching Helen watch a comedian parody her on the telly? Her cackles were so joyous and infectious, and demonstrates the good humoured nature, when she’s in the mental health headspace to support it.

Helen’s impressionist is played by Nicolette Minster, and didn’t Nicolette give it her all! She nailed Helen’s on-camera brashness and exaggerated Helen’s volatility to the extreme, which thankfully Helen was flattered and delighted by!

The late 1980s and early 1990s was an incredible period of time for women on Australian comedy television, lovingly parodying other women in the media. Over at The Big Gig on the ABC, Jean Kittson brought to life her character of Veronica Glenhuntly; very clearly inspired by the ABC newsreader Mary Delahunty. Some of Nicolette’s body language whilst playing Helen also reminds me of Jean’s very wild and loose flight attendant character too. I met Jean in 2018 at my local library!

Turn over to Fast Forward on Seven, and a certain actress was doing her lions share of female media personality parodies; Ms Marg Downey, our very own Evelyn Walters! Marg was a small screen star during this time, and a household name. Her hilariously deadpanned performances as the SBS Lady demonstrated just what an extraordinary talent she is. As each season went along, the SBS Lady’s movements became more stiff, to the point where Marg wouldn’t even blink.

Throughout her time on Fast Forward and The D Generation, she also parodied journalist Jana Wendt. The drawl of her voice, the hand up to her cheek and the tilt of her head made her look and sound frightfully like Ms Wendt. In a 60 Minutes piece from 1989, Mike Munro showed Wendt Marg’s impersonation, and Ms Wendt was that impressed that she gave Marg a rating of a “good solid eight and a half” out of ten! Looks like our Marg was a talent to be reckoned with even in the real 1980s!
Have you seen Marg’s impression of Jana Wendt? If you haven’t, treat yourself to a viewing session on YouTube and see for yourself how incredible Marg has always been!
