I suppose I never really realized before, but the gods I find myself closest to are the ones that are my home, and me, as a green witch, an earth witch, and a naturalist: Artemis, goddess of the woods and forest, Poseidon, King of the ocean, Pan, patron of the mountains, and Demeter, lady of the harvest fields and plains. Nature incarnate, they are the gods of earth of whom I love the most 💚

See, crochet is divination because I'll see some shit on witchblr, go crochet to calm down, fall into trance and accidentally become a philosopher. Quite honestly, any work like this. I've had friends get hit with trance because cutting vegetables became too rhythmic and I've sometimes been pushed into trance or dream by spirits at random intervals when I was doing something like walking.
It's always when your brain shuts off that you get hit with the subtle reality of the world and then realize you didn't count your fucking stitches

my witchy tip is to turn unsalvageable socks into spell sacs.
my method is as follows:
- collect old socks
- wash them (I usually remove old socks from laundry so they're already clean, but good to do again)
- optional: use a cleansing water or spray during/after washing
- allow to dry fully
- fill with spell components
- sew shut
- optional: stitch sigils into the side of the sac
- optional: add other decor (like ribbon or ornaments)
I usually leave spell sacs just in corners of the house, similar to where you might leave a scent bag. I find they work best for protective work or spells that I want to affect a particular location (ie. the living room or the desk) but you may find another use for them!
recycling is a big part of my own practice, so if anyone else is looking for a way to use up old socks, I hope this inspires you!

i think its important to stress that belief in a god does not mean its going to work out for you, yes!
i know in my own experience christianity and catholicism did not do me any good, but despite my disbelief/skepticism i just cannot deny the experience of others with gods. i think the experiences themselves are what makes it real. thats what i was trying to get across just in fewer words lol
does anyone else feel like gods work like how they do in okami where they are real as long as people believe in them?
im reconsidering my beliefs yet again haha

IME fairy tales and narratives are quite nice for all purposes of enchanting, feeding, and directing energy.
"The spell takes the offering and uses it to recharge" isn't dramatic.
Maybe instead:
"Red the Shield went to the market with three coins in his hands, and there he bought bread and meat, and beer, and a warm room to rest in, and in the morning he was in great health and cheer, and the market's name was Dinner Portion."
Everything is metaphor. None can be random.
Red = Fiery, martial, aggressive
Shield = Protection spell, ward
Coins = symbols of trade, exchange. The protection spell has the power to exchange with its environment
Market = Environment of exchange, place filled with resources
Bread and meat = Energy, food
Beer = Energy, respite
Room to rest in = Regroup, recharge
In the morning = Take time
Great health and cheer = Recharged, revitalized
The market's name = What is exchanged with?
Dinner Portion = This plate of dinner leftovers
3 coins, 3 exchanges. The ward is not expected to work well until next morning. You are god; you provide resources (food offering) and you provide the ability for exchange (coins), and then you narrate the exchange. You are not the energy, but the roads energy travels on.
But keep in mind: it's not a free operation. Roads crack where trucks travel. Orienting the ward in relation to the offering takes effort. The 3 coins are smelted from your energy.
Anyway. It's a very fun method. I really enjoy the creativity of it. And it's the tiniest bit coded in case you need to write things down :)

Hello! Can you talk about Juno? Thanks!
juno, goddess of marriage and childbirth (asteroid 3)
“when talking about such a popular god/goddess/hero i am going to for warn paraphrasing - of course all these stories have more details and all these popular gods/heros have stories within stories. i would love to share them all/in detail but i would need a book and a lot more time to write it. my attempt in writing these posts are to inform you on the high level story of the god’s/goddess’s/hero’s life. that being said if any one of the events regaled in the post pique you interest - please let me know i don’t mind giving a more in-depth tale of any of the events mentioned.”

Considered a champion of women and their roles in marriage and motherhood, Juno is the wife of Jupiter and the queen of the Roman gods. Juno is the daughter of Saturn and Ops - the story of Saturn eating his children and being defeated by a rock is much the same as the Greco story of Cronus and his children. After Jupiter defeated his father Saturn and freed his siblings from Saturn's stomach, he and Juno were soon married. Their marriage was not a happy one despite having children together - Jupiter was constantly cheating and Juno typically always found out. One of the most popular affairs was Io and Jupiter; Jupiter disguised Io as a cow (which would become a symbol of the goddess). Juno sent Argus, the monster with one hundred eyes, to watch Io - hoping to catch Jupiter in the act or learn that the cow was indeed a person. When Jupiter heard what Juno had done he sent Mercury to stop Argus (Mercury put the monster first to sleep then killed it). This is said to be where peacocks come into Juno's symbolism as well - after Argus's death, she placed each of his eyes on a feather and placed them in the tail of the nearest bird. Argus's spirit remained forever in her debt which caused the creatures to constantly remain by her side. For a long time Juno tracked the cow, Io, who eventually was turned into a human again and ended up living a relatively okay life after. Juno stayed despite Jupiter’s infidelity and their power struggles. IN MY OPINION Juno can represent a) where you are fiercely loyal/show fairness/advocate for equal partnerships, b) where you are jealous and vindictive, c) where there is a double edged sword in your life - love or justice, d) married life and motherhood, and/or e) intimate relationships and the boundaries you set in them.

i encourage you to look into the aspects of juno along with the sign, degree, and house placement. for the more advanced astrologers, take a look at the persona chart of juno AND/OR add the other characters involved to see how they support or impede juno!

ceres, goddess of agriculture, motherhood, and earth (asteroid 1)

Ceres is the daughter of Saturn and Ops - the sister of Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, Vesta, and Juno. Saturn ate her and all her siblings excluding Jupiter who was tricked by Ops who had him swallow a rock instead. This made Saturn vomit them up and then they fled - leading to them ruling the universe. It was her brother, Pluto, who many years later abducted her daughter. Venus, the goddess of love, sent her son Cupid to shoot Pluto with his arrow. On one of his visits to the world above after being shot with the arrow, he saw Proserpina (Ceres’s daughter) skipping with a group of nymphs and instantly fell in love. He then lured her to his chariot and whisked her away to the Underworld. For a while Ceres searched for her daughter yet couldn’t find her. When she discovered Proserpina’s belt in the land of Sicily, Ceres in turn cursed the entire land for seasons to come (winter and fall) where nothing would grow. It was then that many other gods noticed a shift in the land. Jupiter then sent Mercury to tell Pluto to release their daughter (yep incest *vomit noise*) if she hadn’t eaten the poison fruit of the Underworld yet. Proserpina had eaten seven pomegranate seeds. After a long fight between mother and brother - Proserpina was made to split the time between the two. Ceres is the reason seasons exist - spring announced the return of Proserpina and fall meant Proserpina had to return to Pluto. IN MY OPINION Ceres can represent a) agriculture, b) nurturing, c) motherhood, d) family relationships, e) grief, and/or f) where you are willing to destroy everything to get what was lost.

i encourage you to look into the aspects of ceres along with the sign, degree, and house placement. for the more advanced astrologers, take a look at the persona chart of ceres AND/OR add the other characters involved to see how they support or impede ceres!
