Batman’s trying to take them away. Batman wants them in his colony. Peter- he can’t allow this. He won’t stand for it! He lets his lips curl back, baring fangs that itch to dig into skin.

“They’re mine!” He hisses.

The Bat doesn’t flinch. He just gives a stiff nod, “Okay. You’re mine.”

Peter bluescreens.

ok so basically peter gets ticked off bc it’s obviously HIS job to keep everyone safe duh

Peter jerks forward, past Jason and grabs Red Robin by the shoulders. There’s a yelp and Red Robin struggled under his grasp. “Hey-!”

It takes just three seconds to pin his colony member down, and he can feel Jason behind him moving, as if he wants to interfere. He can’t spare a moment to glance back at Jason, so he moves quicker and delivers a quick bite to one of Red Robin’s wrists.

It’s very gentle, but Peter purposefully administers a tiny bit of venom into it. It’s not deadly, even in large doses. Just a paralytic, and he gives him just barely enough for Red Robin to stop. “Mine!” He asserts, and lets go of his pin.

Usually he’s able to stop the urge to bite others, but- it’s all really fuzzy right now.

“Did you just bite me! Hey, what-“ Oh, that’s the sound of panic. Peter glances around. Is there a threat? No? Huh.

Nightwing moves towards them. Peter sits on his knees besides Red Robin. He is very proud of himself. “Are you alright? Does it hurt?” It shouldn’t hurt. His venom has a numbing agent. He would never hurt what’s his.

“No. It’s… numb. And spreading.” Red Robin’s face scrunches in what seems to me confusion. Red Robin would be just fine. He couldn’t put himself in danger anymore by trying to protect them. That’s Peter’s job.

Obviously.

writers can see that. i don’t want to see a negative or even a neutral review on my work

maybe that’s wrong of me but i write for free and i don’t want to see criticism of something i do purely for fun

peter only knows what he hears and sees, and as such the reader will only know what he hears and sees. his perspective is limited for a reason

is he likely very unreliable… yes. that is the point

but everyone he meets (main characters at least) are trying to help him. he just doesn’t know that

one of my favorite things about writing is getting to explore the depths of characters

usually it’s angst, but that’s just because the characters i like ARE angsty. their backgrounds are tragic as hell, even if the source material doesn’t show it off. i like seeing how that actually EFFECTS characters. how their brains work

enjoy a part of the first draft of my spider instinct oneshot (how one peter parker gained a colony)

“I got this.” He stumbles over to his ‘kitchen’ area, and grabs two cans. The most appetizing ones, one chicken, one tuna. Spiderlings need lots of protein. (Gross.)

He gives them each a can. There. Good situation down. He just has to go without the blankets he needs. 

He can sleep on the floor. 

“Kiddo-“

“Buddy-“

He looks over at them with the most menacing, ‘I am the boss, you listen to me’ look he can put on. 

“Yeah, no, I’m not eating tuna from a can.” Peter wants to scream. He’s trying his best. He really is. 

All he wants to do is get everyone fed and warm, and slip into the blankets with his new colony.
