yh tbh a lot of slang is really overused in fics, and also sometimes used in the wrong context.

like “lad” (to me anyway) is only ever used if someone older is talking about a younger male, so it just feels strange when people use it to talk about someone of the same age

its not like an issue or anything tho its just funny as a brit reading fics and just throws me off for a sec when i see it
