tomoe!malleus, who had always been almost eagerly waiting for a new god to grace the temple. it has been lonely for him all these years, and a new god such as yourself, inexperienced yet kind and gentle with every living thing you meet, brings him happiness.

tomoe!malleus, who keeps track of your schedule for you, tutting about exams and assignments while making sure to arrange food for you so that a snack or a good meal would always be in your reach.

tomoe!malleus, who watches you slip through his fingers like sand as you're dragged away by the higher gods, and though he knows this would be a losing battle (a mere spirit and a new god against gods thousands of years old), he shall try to win you back regardless.

tomoe!malleus, who willingly sheds his divinity for you, without you even asking about it. you, who were willing to live in your isolation as a god for him,

tomoe!malleus, who watches you bounce your son on your knee, idlly humming a tune he used to hum to you in the dead of night as you slept- a reminder of the time that brought you two together, with the hopes of a life well lived.

it wasn't uncommon for you to be summoned by farena or his wife once in a while— after all, you were leona's spouse, and as the second son of the former king, his job was overseeing the military of the sunset savannah— which meant, that in all cases possible, you were a military spouse.

"did you—" farena guffaws as his wife smacks his chest, trying not to laugh herself, "give leona a hickey?"

"do you really want the ins and outs of your brother's sexual life here?" you deadpan, eyebrow raised as farena closes his eyes and wheezes, his wife biting her lip to keep her laughter in.

"there's a rule you should know, [name]." she calls, gently drawing you out of your ire. "ahem... the— the defense personnel regulations act clearly states that any and all personnel are property of the reigning monarch of the sunset savannah with due respect given to personal liberties."

"yeah... i know this. why—"

"please don't leave hickeys on your husband, he's not except from the law, and you—" she pauses, guffawing, "you could go to jail for that."

"are you serious. right now. are you serious."

the entire palace watches you toss a rock at farena and his wife as you stalk off, the only remnant of your "advisory meeting" being the loud laughter of the couple.

it makes sense, you think to yourself. leona's always had a penchance for breaking the fucking law.

you couldn't hate him either way— for the next day, at a public meeting with selected representatives of the common class, the hickies were found next to his lips.

tomoe!leona, who is forced to be your familar- though he hates it, his job to protect your shrine, and unfortunately, he's been really fucking good at it.

tomoe!leona, who swings by his alma mater, where you landed- though it's been centuries since he'd graduated, he knows where every brick and tree and pebble still lies, and he hates how the headmaster hasn't changed one bit. "c'mon, [name]." he grumbles. "let's not spend any more time here then we have to."

tomoe!leona, who begrudingly "agrees" to your "fuckin' whims", even though everyone who swings by the shrine knew he wouldn't do something he didn't like. ruggie, another spirit who visits often, teases him relentlessly about this.

tomoe!leona, who confesses to you right as a sun-draped god tries to carry you away- you're his, and he'd never stand to see you be taken away by another you didn't give your heart and soul to.

tomoe!leona, who watches you fight for him despite everything, and decides to become lesser again, human again- just for you. all for you, and somehow, neither of you know when it started.
