With the car packed and spirits high, we’re setting off on a new adventure to the captivating land of Montenegro! Nestled along the Adriatic Sea, Montenegro boasts a rich tapestry of history that dates back to ancient times. Once part of the powerful Ottoman Empire and later the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, this small but mighty country has a legacy of diverse cultures and influences.

Montenegro is renowned for its breathtaking beauty, where the Mediterranean flair meets dramatic landscapes. Picture crystal-clear waters lapping against rugged, sunlit coastlines and majestic mountains that seem to touch the sky. From the charming old towns like Kotor, with its medieval architecture, to the stunning Bay of Kotor and the serene beaches of Budva, every corner of Montenegro offers a unique blend of natural splendor and historical charm.

As we journeyed through Montenegro, each destination unveiled its own slice of paradise. Our adventure began in Budva, where the sun-drenched beaches and vibrant old town set the tone for an unforgettable experience. Wandering through the cobblestone streets, we were charmed by the blend of historical architecture and lively Mediterranean spirit.

Next, we drove to Kotor, a gem nestled between towering mountains and the sparkling Bay of Kotor. The city's medieval walls and narrow alleys, framed by dramatic cliffs, felt like stepping back in time. Climbing the ancient fortifications rewarded us with panoramic views that left us breathless.

Tivat was our next stop, where the luxurious Porto Montenegro marina offered a glimpse into opulent coastal living. We marveled at the sleek yachts and the sophisticated atmosphere, savoring a leisurely stroll along the waterfront.

Ostrog Monastery, perched high in the cliffs of Montenegro's Bjelopavlići plain, is a site of profound historical and spiritual significance. Founded in the 17th century by Vasilije Ostroški, the bishop of Herzegovina, the monastery is dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog. It is renowned for its stunning location, built into the sheer rock face, and its status as one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Orthodox Christian world.

The monastery is divided into two parts: the Upper Monastery and the Lower Monastery. The Upper Monastery, situated at an elevation of about 900 meters, features the church dedicated to Saint Basil, where his relics are enshrined. The Lower Monastery, carved into the rock, is known for its impressive frescoes and serene atmosphere.

The car’s packed, the playlist is set, and our hearts are racing with anticipation. We’re continuing our adventure and heading to Austria! From the stunning Alpine landscapes to the rich cultural heritage, we’re ready to explore every corner and create unforgettable memories. Buckle up—this journey promises to be incredible! Who better to welcome us to Austria but Mozart.

Here’s a fun fact about Vienna: Vienna has a unique tradition known as “Wiener Schnitzel,” but did you know that it has been a part of Viennese culture for centuries? Rumor has it that the dish is believed to have originated in Vienna in the 19th century, but its roots go back even further. The traditional Wiener Schnitzel is made from veal, and its preparation and presentation have become a hallmark of Viennese cuisine. If you’re a fan of food, you have at least try an authentic Wiener Schnitzel in Vienna is a must!

Here's a fascinating fact: Empress Elisabeth of Austria (known as Sisi) and Marie Antoinette were indeed related. Sisi was Marie Antoinette’s grandniece. Sisi's mother, Duchess Ludovika of Bavaria, was the sister of Marie Antoinette's husband, Louis XVI. So, while they never met, these two iconic women from history shared a family connection through their royal bloodlines! Also, a Palace!

Belvedere Palace in also like the Louvre is known for its stunning art collection, particularly its impressive array of Austrian art. The palace houses two main museums: the Upper Belvedere and the Lower Belvedere, both showcasing masterpieces from different periods.

Upper Belvedere:

Back in the car, and on our way to another country, as we get ready for an unforgettable adventure we are back on the road for our continuation of our trip. We are saying goodbye to Hungary and preparing to make our way to Slovakia! Our journey will hopefully take us through picturesque landscapes, and charming towns. We leave now from the bustling streets of Budapest to the historic sites of Bratislava, each mile promises new discoveries and unforgettable experiences. Buckle up and let’s explore the beauty and history of Central Europe together!

As we wondered the streets on this very wet, cold, and windy day in Bratislava, we strolled past St. Michaels Gate and decided that we needed to have a bite to eat. We came across Kola Kamzik, and holy cow it did not disappoint!

As we walked, we got closer and closer to the smells of the restaurants, and when we saw Kola Kamzik we knew this was the place.

When the food arrived at the table I knew I was about to have an incredible dining experience at Kola Kamzik in Bratislava! The food was absolutely fantastic, with each dish beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. The blend of traditional and modern elements in their menu was impressive, and the presentation was top-notch. If you’re ever in Bratislava, don’t miss out on this restaurant – it's a culinary fusion that you won't forget! I certainly won't anytime soon!

Wondering around in Bratislava, taking it all in, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! Nestled along the banks of the Danube River, this charming city has rich history with vibrant modern culture. From the stunning Bratislava Castle overlooking the city to the delightful streets of the Old Town filled with cozy cafés and colorful buildings, there's so much to explore. The local cuisine (can't say enough about Kola Kamzik), the warm and welcoming people, and the city's relaxed vibe made it an unforgettable experience. BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

Next stop on our roadtrip is Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and it's a vibrant city known for its stunning architecture, rich history, and unique blend of Eastern and Western European cultures. The city is split by the Danube River into two parts: Buda, with its historic castle and hilly terrain, and Pest, known for its lively urban atmosphere. Notable landmarks include the Parliament Building, Buda Castle, and the thermal baths. Budapest offers a mix of medieval, neoclassical, and modern architecture, along with a thriving arts scene, cafes, and a rich culinary tradition. It is often called the "Pearl of the Danube."

Budapest at night is nothing short of magical. The city comes alive as the lights of the Parliament building, Buda Castle, and the Chain Bridge reflect on the shimmering Danube, creating a stunning, romantic atmosphere. The vibrant nightlife, illuminated historic architecture, and serene river views make it feel like you're walking through a storybook. Each corner reveals something breathtaking, whether it's the glow of street lamps or the gentle hum of the city's night breeze.

After an exhilarating nighttime climb to the Citadel in Budapest, the breathtaking views were more than worth the effort. The city sparkled below, with the Danube cutting through the heart of Budapest, its bridges illuminated like golden arches connecting Buda and Pest. The peacefulness of the night, combined with the soft glow of the lights, made the entire experience magical.

HERO'S GATE

Hero's Gate was built to commemorate the country's 1000th anniversary and honor the most significant figures in Hungarian history. It features the Millenary Monument, which was constructed between 1896 and 1929 to celebrate the millennium of Hungary's foundation in 896 by the Magyars, the ancestors of modern Hungarians.

The square and the monument pay tribute to Hungarian leaders, kings, and national heroes who played key roles in the nation's history. The central column of the monument is topped by a statue of the Archangel Gabriel holding the Holy Crown of Hungary and the apostolic cross, symbolizing the establishment of Christianity in Hungary.

Empress Elisabeth (SiSi) sure knew palaces. Buda Palace is very beautiful, and it overlooks the city and is a testament to the times of grandeur in architecture.

Buda Palace, is a historic castle complex on Castle Hill. Originally built in the 13th century, it has served as the royal residence and a key administrative center. The palace, notable for its stunning Baroque architecture, offers panoramic views of the Danube River and the city. It like the Louvre now houses a museum, the Hungarian National Gallery, the Budapest History Museum, and the National Széchényi Library, making it a significant cultural and historical landmark in Budapest.

Even on a rainy day it stands Majestic and historic, the Parliament Building in Budapest stands as a symbol of Hungary's rich heritage and architectural splendor.

Our time in Budapest was truly unforgettable. From immersing ourselves in the rich tapestry of its history to dancing the night away in the vibrant nightlife of Pest, every moment was a we spent wondering this city, is imprinted on my soul. Budapest seamlessly blends the old with the new, offering a unique experience that we'll cherish for years to come. It is an absolutely incredible city!

GOLUBAC, SERBIA:

Serbia had never been on my radar as country to visit, and I am so grateful that unexpected circumstances took me there. There are a lot of false narratives that keep people from traveling to the country, but the truth is that Serbia has long intrigued travelers with its blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. My recent trip to this Balkan country left me with a changed perspective by its vibrant cities, ancient fortresses, and, of course, delicious cuisine.

One of the highlights of my journey was a day trip to the awe-inspiring Golubac Fortress, nestled along the banks of the Danube River.

Golubac Fortress is a captivating slice of history perched on the banks of the Danube River in Serbia. This 14th-century stronghold, with its towering walls and breathtaking views, has witnessed centuries of battles and empires. Located just two hours from Belgrade, Golubac is a must-visit for history lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. #GolubacFortress

The fortress boasts nine towers, each with its own unique story, and offers panoramic views of the river, making it easy to imagine the medieval battles that once took place here. The setting is peaceful today, a stark contrast to its turbulent past. Golubac is an unforgettable experience that transports you back in time.

If you’re visiting Golubac Fortress and looking for the perfect place to enjoy an authentic meal with an unforgettable view, Restoran Perast is an absolute must. Sits just along the banks of the Danube, this charming restaurant offers not only stunning riverside scenery but also a dining experience that truly captures the essence of Serbian cuisine.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a relaxing atmosphere. Even from inside you could enjoy its panoramic view of the Danube, it created the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable meal after exploring the nearby fortress.

The highlight of our meal was the freshly grilled trout, caught straight from the Danube. It was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. Accompanied by simple but delicious sides of local potatoes and and of course I ordered Fries, the dish was a perfect reflection of the region’s culinary traditions.

What truly sets Restoran Perast apart is the attention to detail, both in the food and the service. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed to make the meal memorable. The peaceful ambiance, combined with the excellent food and river views, sucks you right into having a local feel.

Avala Tower and the Monument to the Unknown Hero are two iconic spots just outside Belgrade, Serbia. Avala Tower, standing at 204 meters, gives you amazing views of the city and beyond. It was originally built in the 60s, destroyed in 1999, but rebuilt and reopened in 2010.

Not far from the tower is the Monument to the Unknown Hero, a massive stone tribute to the Serbian soldiers who died in World War I. It's a place of quiet reflection, honoring those whose names were never known. Both sites are must-visits for their history and great views!

BELGRADE, SERBIA

Exploring the vibrant vibes of Republic Square in Belgrade! From the impressive National Museum to the charming cafes lining the streets, it's a hub of activity and history. Stroll through Knez Mihailova Street, soak in the atmosphere, and maybe even dodge a pigeon or two. This spot captures the essence of Belgrade's lively spirit.

Embarking on a road trip along the North Coast 500 (NC500) in the stunning Scottish Highlands is a dream come true for any avid traveler. The NC500 offers a breathtaking journey through some of Scotland's most picturesque landscapes, from rugged coastlines to towering mountains, with the promise of kind-hearted locals, thrilling roads, historic castles, tranquil lochs, fine whisky, and delicious food along the way. Imagine a trip where every day feels like a postcard-worthy adventure, and you've got the NC500.

The North Coast 500 is a 516-mile circular route that starts and ends in Inverness. The journey takes you along the coast, offering an ever-changing panorama of breathtaking scenery. The route passes through quaint villages, historic towns, and remote wilderness, providing a well-rounded experience of the Scottish Highlands.

One of the highlights of our NC500 adventure was the incredible weather we experienced. Scotland is notorious for its unpredictable climate, but we were fortunate to have mostly sunny and clear days. This meant that we could fully appreciate the mesmerizing landscapes, from the azure waters of the North Sea to the emerald green fields and dramatic mountain ranges.

The Scottish Highlands are not just known for their natural beauty but also for the warmth of their people. Everywhere we went, we encountered friendly locals who were more than happy to share their stories and offer helpful advice. Their welcoming nature made our journey all the more memorable.

For those who enjoy the thrill of the open road, the NC500 doesn't disappoint. The route is dotted with winding, narrow roads that snake through the countryside, offering a truly exhilarating driving experience. The famous Bealach na Bà, a steep and winding mountain pass, is a highlight for adventure-seeking drivers. Each twist and turn reveals a new breathtaking vista.

No trip to Scotland would be complete without exploring its rich history, and the NC500 offers plenty of opportunities to do just that. We visited historic castles like Dunrobin Castle and the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, set against the backdrop of sparkling lochs and lush landscapes. It felt like stepping back in time.

Whisky lovers will be in their element along the NC500 route. We stopped at several distilleries to sample some of Scotland's finest single malts. From the peaty flavors of Islay to the smooth Speyside varieties, each distillery had its unique character and charm. It's an excellent way to appreciate Scotland's national drink in its homeland.

Foodies will relish the chance to savor traditional Scottish dishes on this journey. We indulged in hearty meals like haggis, neeps, and tatties, as well as freshly caught seafood in coastal villages. And let's not forget about the famous Scottish breakfasts that kept us energized for our daily adventures.

Our road trip along the NC500 in the Scottish Highlands was nothing short of magical. With perfect weather, warm-hearted locals, thrilling drives, historic landmarks, whisky tastings, and mouthwatering cuisine, it's a journey that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. 10 days in France 🇫🇷

After three days in Paris it was time to get back into the rental and head west to the English Channel coast at Étretat where Monet painted some of his famous works. We stayed in a 400 year old Inn and made our way into the Pyrenees Mountains for a hike. We stayed the night in Lordes and visited the site where Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette. We then traveled over the mountains into Andorra 🇦🇩, a beautiful little country. We spent the day exploring and packed up to head out to the French Rivera

10 days in France 🇫🇷

I boarded an overnight flight departing from Miami with Paris as my destination. Arrived at 11:30am picked up my rental car, checked into the hotel and proceeded to have the most epic three days in Paris. I think I would like to purchase a small flat in Paris and visit once a year, it was glorious and I’m sad I’m back home.

Rainbow River, Dunnellon FL. What a way to close out summer then a trip down this amazingly beautiful river with amazing friends and family. Note to self though, one needs to get a waterproof bag, and remember to at least put one’s phone away. Tragedy struck half way down the river when a perfectly good barely used IPhone 14 sunk to the bottom of river. 🤷🏼

I ask you honestly, who doesn’t like trains? I remember being fascinated by them when I was a child, I grew up in a small coastal town called Crystal Beach on the west coast of Florida. We had a train that came through twice a day until I was 9, I would always run liaise to see it. I also would leave Penney’s on the tail for it to flatten.

I spent the day by myself working on my boat. There is something truly relaxing about time spent on the water doing things that I love. It’s been a really stressful 2021, is been emotionally exhausting, taxing, frustrating, and has delivered a lot of hardships.

I’m hopeful that there will be a path that is illuminated for me, a path of meaningful employment that can sustain myself and my family. I have to believe that everything is planned and that this too was a necessary growth stage to help me understand my new path when it presents itself.

I have the most incredible man by my side, showering me with encouragement, love, support, and a powerful winning mindset. Together nothing will stand in our way, I’m going to marry this man.

On our way to México to spend the weekend for this amazing guys birthday. How lucky am I? As we settle into what only god knows what our new normal travel will look like, we are happy to be going at all. Let’s see what Cancún has in store for us shall we?

As the new year unfolds 2021 is starting to look a lot better than 2020. We loaded up our bikes for the 1st time this year (with full entions of doing this on the regular) and headed down to beautiful Sarasota Florida to do the bayfront bike trail, we went off script a little bit and took a detour through downtown. What an amazing area Sarasota is, we absolutely fell in love with this quaint and charming little town, Who knew that this area had so much to offer, not only does it have the Ringling Museum, but also a timeless and magical waterfront community. We stopped for lunch, and we’re wowed by Duval’s Fresh restaurants amazing food (a must if you are in Sarasota). We look forward to having many more adventures in amazing areas like this. If you haven’t already sat out on an adventure for 2021, I encourage every single person to do so. Too long have we been cooped up in our homes, too long have we been listening to the rhetoric, let’s get out and do some thing, Go somewhere, live your life. And remember you are the master of your fate.
